"Collectible Card Game Dragon Ball Z made the number 3 spot of the top 10 Collectible Card Games (Inquest Gamer 2000 issue page 94). "The Dragonball Z CCG has really taken off over the few months since its release. Cards from the first set, Saiyan Saga, have been doing great on the trading block, with the most poular cards being Chiaotzu's Physical Defense ($6), Goku's Plan ($8), Goku's Truce ($8), Medic Kit ($10) and the Level 4 Saibiamen ($8). Foil versions of these cards and of the more common main personalities like Goku ($12), Krillin ($12) and Vegeta ($12) have also proven to be quite hot. The game gave collectors their first taste of a new expansion this month with Frieza Saga. The set, which emphasizes energy combat as opposed to Saiyan Saga's focus on physical combat, features a slighly different collation scheme from the release. Booster packs include 11 cards, with a foil every 2.5 packs, so players get two extra cards per pack in exchange for having slightly rarer foil cards. Frieza saga also includes seven new Level 4 cards for the Saiyan Saga main personalities. Another subset of cards that should be popular are the special promotional "High Tech" cards. The set of five cards, which include special versions of Frieza, Trunks, Garlic Jr. and two other personalities, can only be had by redemming 20 booster pack wrappers per card." (Inquest Gamer 2000 issue p. 94-95). Also according to Score, the DBZ CCG was voted "The Best Selling New CCG System of 2000," in the Comics Retailer June and July Market Beat Report. "
