My lover’s gone,
His boots no longer by my door.
Xelloss stroked her cheek gently. “Gomen Fi-chan.”
Filia smiled faintly. “I know. But you have to do as BeastMaster wishes.”
Xelloss nodded. “Wish me luck koibito...” He whispered against her lips.
"Of course I do.... Come back to me...” She kissed him gently and he deepened the kiss, giving them a long moment of heaven before she had to pull away.
“I’ll try Fi-chan.” Then he strode down the hall, away from their room on Wolf Pack Island, before disappearing.
He left at dawn,
And as I slept I felt him go.
Filia sat straight up in bed. Horrible. Something horrible had happened. Where was he? Where?! Desperately panicked, she searched along the bond they shared.... Nothing. There was nothing.
“NO!” She screamed as tears began to stream down her face. “no....” Sobs wracked her lightly clothed form and sleep would not allow her solace as the sun sent its first rays to Wolf Pack Island.
Returns no more,
I will not watch the ocean.
Dry-eyed, she finally rose from her bed, half-heartedly untangling herself from the sheets and heading to the window. Out of habit, she pushed the curtains open and unlatched the window, allowing a sea breeze to pass through into the room. The sea crashed along the shoreline, along the jagged rocks that surrounded the island. Abruptly Filia turned away from the window, walking to the vanity and sitting on the stool before it, avoiding memories.
My lover’s gone,
No earthly ships will ever bring him home again.
Bring him home again.
Gone. Gone. Blankly she stared at her tear-stained face reflected in the mirror. He’d never come back again. Nothing would bring him back. The thought made her break down sobbing again, the mirror reflecting her shaking form. My lover’s gone. I know that kiss will be my last. Calming, she looked upon her red, tear-stained face again, memories rising to the surface. Filia heard his footsteps and she turned towards the door to be greeted with nothing. Her mind conjured up an image of him, stopping in front of her, and she could have sworn she felt his lips upon hers before the phantom disappeared.
No more his song,
The tune upon his lips has passed.
Filia closed her eyes to escape the familiarity of the room, of the phantom memory. The silent darkness of her eyelids was a welcome sight. But now scenes played upon them, haunting.
Xelloss whistled cheerfully, looking out the window to view the ocean. She saw herself smile at him from the vanity. Filia’s eyes shot open, and he was there. Right there in front of her. Despite herself she rushed over and tried to touch him. Her fingers fell through, and she cried out, a cry filled with sorrow and desperation. The phantom looked at her, a sad smile lighting his face, and mouthed something, brushing her cheek with his hand before disappearing.
I sing alone
While I watch the ocean.
Filia stood there for a few moments, a tear escaping from her eye and running down her cheek to drop off her chin. Slowly she took the last step to the windowsill and sat herself down gently. His song played in her mind and softly she sang it, watching the ocean. Empty. Without him, alone. He was gone, forever, and now she had to ...had to...
My lover’s gone.
No earthly ships will ever bring him home again.
Bring him home again.
A woman lay on her windowsill, an exhausted sleep having finally overtaken her. Silent tears wetting the cushion, and every so often she murmured a name, leaving a phrase to trail off.
“...gone...”
