The stole what they wanted and were quick enough and small enough to get away. Together, Duo and his best friend Solo were quite the team. Solo eventually died from a disease. Soon after Solo's death, the gang was atopted by the Maxwell Church. They acted as a sort of adoption agency and took care of the kids until a family came for them. Only, every family that adopted Duo sent him back. He ended up staying at the church with the nun and she took care of him. He was a tough kid and would beat other kids up because they Said he smelled like a sewer. At this point, Duo still had long hair, but it wasn't braided. He wouldn't let the nun, Sister Helen, cut it off so she braided it for him instead. He liked it because it would make stealing a good bit easier. The church was the first loving family Duo had ever had, and he shows deep cherished bonds between Father Maxwell and Sister Helen throughout the series. After a Duo had been living at the church for a while, soldiers came and siezed the colony. While sneeking around, Duo heard the soldiers talking about how they needed a mobile suit, so he offered to steal one in return that they leave the colony. They agreed and 6 year old Duo went to the military base and stole one and drove it back to the church. When he got back, he was too late. The soldiers had killed everyone, except the Sister Helen. She told him what had happened, then died. It was then he adopted the nickname "Shinigami" which means God of Death. According to him, people die when they get near him. When he was older, he met Professor G. when he snuck onto his ship. Of course, Duo is the comical relief of the show. He is goofy and tries to have a bit of fun, even though he is a soldier. He is very serious when it comes to battle and annhilates everything around him. All around he is a good guy and the most likeable by far. *He's my fav ^_^ Quote: "Aww this is such a lame way to go!
