Where will the dog stay..
Almost all dogs can live in a house or apartment if given enough exercise. If you plan on keeping the dog outside remember the climate. Not all dogs can tolerate heat as well not all dogs can tolerate the cold. If you are keeping your dog outside, make sure they have coverage from the elements. and plenty of fresh water.

Can you give them exercise..
Before choosing a new pet make sure you are choosing a breed that you are willing to spend the necessary time needed for exercise. example--- some dogs need to run while others are happy with just a walk around the block.

How much time is needed for grooming..
Some dogs just need to be bathed and brushed regularly, while others need to be groomed by professionals.

Do you have experience with dogs..
You should read up on the breed that you are looking at, not all dogs are for first time dog owners

Why do you want a dog..
examples-- jogging, lap dog, watchdog, This will effect the breed of dog that you choose.

Can you afford a dog..
Remember there is more to owning a dog then just food and water, Puppy shots, spade, neutering, yearly check ups, yearly shots, grooming, boarding (if necessary) etc.....

Always remember
Puppies do grow up!

There are too many animals and not enough good homes
