Webmaster's notes: With the establishment of the Dom as the succesor of the Zaku for ground combat, a replacement was also needed for the MS-06D Zaku Desert Type with its special heat radiating equipment. The YMS-09D Dom Tropical Test Type was this replacement, using a significantly different frame than the standard Dom and mounting a special cooling system on its back. Like the Desert Zaku, the Dom TTT was also equipped with a communciations antenna, a necessity in desert regions with few bases and vehicles to otherwise relay transmissions between mobile suits. The Tropical Test Type was produced in small numbers and did not see a mass production version, though the MS-09F/trop Dom Tropen would eventually come to fill that role.
