"Where am I?" Todd asked. "Wait…I know where I am…" He looked around and realized he was back in the Lasan Shrine and he looked around and asked. "Why am I here again? What am I supposed to do now?"
"You're supposed to train for the day of your test." The voice replied. "So get moving!"
"You're getting bossy!" Todd scoffed. "What am I supposed to be training with?"
"This!" The voice replied as clouds gathered and the sky darkened. "You must defeat this spirit!"
The clouds gathered and became volatile and thunder sounded. Todd shivered and got his spear ready. Todd surveyed the threat as a little girl with lightning bolts in her hair band, baggy clothing and a yellow tinge popped out of the clouds. Todd looked up as she laughed at him and he asked. "Is this the thunder card?"
"No, it isn't a clow card at all! It is a replica of 'Sylphid,' a wind fairy that works for the dark one. You must defeat her with your magic if you want to progress in your training." The voice replied. "Are you ready?"
"Sure, I'm ready." Todd replied, taking his Windy card out of his pocket. Todd threw the Windy card up and chanted. "Windy, release and dispel!" Todd impaled the card with his spear and unleashed Windy.
Syphid looked down and raised her hands up. The clouds became volatile again and shot a bolt of lightning at Windy. Windy dodged and attempted to wrap the Sylphid creature up with her energy. Sylphid replied with another shot of thunder at Windy and managed to hit her. Windy crashed back down to the ground as Todd thought about the situation. "Windy, get over here! I have a plan."
Todd looked up and put his spear back. Sylphid laughed again and shot another bolt of lightning at both Todd and Windy, Todd and Windy dodged the attack barely. Todd said to windy. "Get behind her, when I use my power, strike while Sylphid is stunned."
Sylphid looked back as Windy rose up and flew behind her. Todd put his spear up like a baseball bat and chanted. "Summon the force which comes from within! Magic Missile!!" Todd's spearhead gained a ball of white light. Todd swung the spear and launched the orb at Sylphid who reacted by shooting another bolt of lightning at the orb. The lightning hit the orb but had no effect and the orb continued its course and slammed against Sylphid. "Now!"
Windy took the opportunity and wrapped around Sylphid and bound her tightly like a twist tie. Todd looked up and said to the voice. "I caught the thing so what do I do now?"
"Nothing, you passed the first test!" The voice replied.
"Really?" Todd asked. "That's great! Windy! Return!" Todd replied as Windy returned to card form and Sylph vanished. "What's happening now!"
"You must wake up now." The voice replied.
A bright light surrounded Todd as he began to float. Todd opened his eyes to realize that he was in his living room. The time was 9:22 pm. Todd however was wide awake. "Wow! I slept like six hours!"
Kero woke slowly and gave a mighty little yawn. Kero turned to Todd and asked. "What? It's dark! I'm wide awake too now! Todd, you realize that this is going to mess up our sleeping schedule. What do we do now?"
"We watch the late night movie!" Todd replied, picking up the remote control. "That'll definitely knock us out. What's the movie tonight? According to the satellite, it's Ground Hog day!"
"Ground hog day?" Kero asked, perplexed. "That does a movie have to do with a ground hog?"
"It doesn't really..." Todd replied as the commercials rolled. "It's about a grouchy guy who repeats the same day for like, two weeks. He falls in love with a woman and they eventually live happily ever after. He brakes the curse by getting her to sleep with him. It's actually a pretty cool movie."
"Really?" Kero asked as he got a pudding. "Let's see!"
The movie began with the guy waking up to some Sunny and Cher music. He got up and went to the ground hog day festival. The ground hog stated through superstition that there would be six more weeks of winter. Kero looked on and asked Todd. "What's with this? How can people tell how much winter there is left by a small rodent's shadow?"
"I think it is just superstition." Todd replied. "But many people believe that it's true! If a groundhog can see its shadow, then winter is over! If a groundhog doesn't, then there is six more weeks of winter. Or is it the other way around?" Todd became mystified. "I always consider the way: If it's cold, then it's still winter!"
"Either that or the freeze card is around!" Kero replied. "I remember what happened at the ice rink. Freeze attacked and Sakura and Li defeated it. It was towards the end of the card captures."
"Right, shh. The commercials are over." Todd shushed Kero as the movie went on. Todd and Kero intently watched it to the very end. In the end, Todd looked over to Kero and asked. "Pretty cool huh?"
"Yeah! That guy was obviously a victim of the Time card!" Kero replied. "He should have gone to the biggest clock in town and defeated Time and received the card!"
Todd laughed and replied. "Yeah but there are only few people who have magical powers. I'm special right?"
"Right." Kero replied as Todd and Kero got ready for their real sleep. Todd brushed his teeth and went to his sleeping area. Todd climbed into bed and Kero flew in after him. Kero nestled himself in a fold in Todd's comforter and they both went back to sleep.
A drop of water fell into a black pool of water. The drop made a ping as Todd's silhouette appeared in the water. Todd realized he was dreaming again as he saw the Radio tower and he was dressed in his usual suit that he wears in all his dreams. Todd looked at Kero who was beside him, floating. Todd looked over to the radio tower and saw a strange figure with wings and a suit of white.
Todd looked over and took out the jump card. "I'll go meet this guy and ask him some questions." Todd impaled the jump card with his spear and glowing wings appeared on his feet. Todd started to leap off the roof to another roof when Todd suddenly woke up to some...Sunny and Cher music?
Todd arose out of bed to hear his alarm. The radio was singing the song "I got you, babe!" and Todd looked over to the radio and commented. "This is weird...but oh well. I have Pop tarts!"
Todd rushed into the kitchen and looked for the pop tarts in the pantry. Todd found them and took them out. He opened the box to reveal that there were none left. Todd looked horrified and moaned. "No...no...NOOOOO!!!"
Kero woke up at that and flew into the kitchen, sat down on the table and replied. "Tori didn't shop for anything. He went out with that Australian girl, remember?"
"Oh, right!" Todd replied as they went into flashback.
"I got the job so I could get this pizza for half price. I'll quit the job tomorrow." Tori replied.
"You are totally pathetic!" Todd replied, annoyed. "Where are the groceries?"
"Oh, sorry. I went out on a date instead with a beautiful brown haired girl who just moved here from Australia! Outstanding, really awesome!"
"What's her name?" "Huh? Oh...I forgot." The flashback ended.
"There's hardly any food left and there's no pudding!" Kero replied, almost crying. "...pudding...how I miss thee..."
"You are pathetic!" Todd replied, irritated. "I can't believe you're mooning over pudding like this..." Todd walked into the bathroom to compose himself and ran into his room to change into his uniform. Todd ran out, fully changed and ran to the door, strapping on his in-line skates. "Kero, will you come to school with me?"
"Nope!" Kero replied, picking up the controller and booting up the game. "I have some serious work to do!"
Todd skated out the door and into the elevator. Todd rode it down to the third floor where Tatea stepped into the elevator. Todd greeted her. "Hello, Tatea! How are you doing?"
"Fine, Todd." Tatea replied. "Are you prepared?"
"Prepared for what?" Todd asked.
"Prepared for the music test today! Mr. Mogul is giving us a test!" Tatea replied, mystified and a little angry. "You studied right?"
"No, opps. I forgot." Todd mumbled. "I'll have to study right now!" Todd started playing the recorder. Todd began the piece by messing up the first part and then he breathed when he wasn't supposed to and blew into the recorder too hard. "Taa daa!"
Tatea groaned and said. "You'd better use the song card like you did last time." Tatea replied. "Cheater."
"How did you know about the song card?" Todd demanded.
"I know about the clow cards. You totally suck at playing the recorder and when we were tested, you played professionally. I also can sense magic, it's a natural ability that I have...the only thing I don't understand is that how can a dimwit like you know and use magic...!"
"Hey, knock it off!" Todd asked. "So are you the mysterious stranger?"
"Nope!" Tatea remarked. "I have the power of telekinesis but I'm not the mysterious stranger."
The elevator opened at the bottom floor and they both got off. Todd skated ahead of Tatea to school where Sakura was waiting for him. Sakura waved to Todd and he skated into the courtyard of the school. Todd asked. "So, are you and Jeremy ready for the music test?"
"We are, but Jeremy keeps breathing when he isn't supposed to so we're stuck." Sakura replied. "Well, Let's go into the school."
Todd skated into the main building and he got his stuff out of the locker. Todd went to the bathroom and checked to see if there was anyone in there and there wasn't. Todd nodded and went in one of the stalls and took out the Song card. "Song card, I command you to make me awesome at playing the recorder for today! Song card, release and dispel!" Todd summoned a shower of rainbow colored sparkles and he started humming. Todd walked out and headed for home room.
Todd ran in and sat at his usual spot. Li and Madison were waiting for him. Li asked. "Are you ready for the music test today?"
"Sure am!" Todd sang.
Tatea walked into class and Jeremy bounded in after her, he was practically serenading to her. Tatea was almost ready to snap and was ready to shove Jeremy's recorder down his throat. Tatea turned and asked. "Will you please stop playing the recorder?"
Jeremy stopped instantly and smiled at Tatea. Tatea was getting even more angry and sat down in her desk. Tatea sighed as Jeremy began his normal serenades. Jeremy started. "Tatea! You look gorgeous!"
"You said that yesterday, and the day before that and the day before that..." Tatea remarked, slightly annoyed but also slightly amused. "Unless I'm going to suddenly change into an old hag, the beauty of me is going to remain pretty constant."
"You ARE pretty!" Jeremy replied.
"And you ARE pretty... pretty pathetic." Tatea remarked. "You are annoying as well, why don't you go bug Sakura? She is your music partner after all, although I don't know why..."
"Sakura is Todd's girlfriend, or so I see. Even if Sakura wasn't Todd's she'd be Li's. Sakura is pretty hot, and most of the guys would be pretty nuts not to notice her."
"Really?" Tatea asked, her eyes gleaming with a hint of evil. "Heh, heh, heh..."
"Wha? What's up?" Jeremy asked.
Tatea got up and stated for everyone to hear. "Everybody..." Tatea cleared her throat and began her speech. "Jeremy is hopelessly in love with Sakura! I have a quote which I picked up with my mini recorder that proves it." Tatea laughed and whipped out the mini recorder that seemed to come out of nowhere and pressed the play button.
The recorder played in a tone that sounded exactly like Jeremy's voice. "Sakura is pretty hot...be pretty nuts not to notice her..."
Everyone laughed and Jeremy blushed and sank into his desk. Chelsea suddenly stated. "Jeremy! Hee, hee, hee! You seem to be after everybody lately."
"Do you also think that I'm cute?" Madison asked.
"He is such a fool in love..." Nikki mused to herself while reading a fantasy novel. "I wouldn't mind if someone idolized ME that way...Like a knight mooning over a princess...oh how dreamy..."
"Hey Jeremy!" Jaki called, winking at him. "I didn't realize that you were such a wolf! Hee, hee, hee...just my type..."
Sakura looked on and shook her head. She smiled and laughed. "Thanks Jeremy! You made my day!"
"Wow..." Jeremy replied from under his breath. "Tatea...It's like putting a fire out with gasolene! What a woman..."
Thoughts were pushed aside when Miss. Mackenzie walked in and smiled. "It looks like we're in a good mood today! Well, your in for a treat because we're going to learn about how plant cells work. Won't that be fun?"
Class from then on was boring and trying. Tatea's practical joke was at good timing because it buffered everyone's boredom. Next class was Music and Todd was ready for the test.
Music class began with Zachary's and Li's piece and they didn't do too badly. Zachary had some timing problems and Li mangled a few of the higher notes but they pulled it off.
Sakura and Jeremy's group performed next and their duel recorder music was very well done. Sakura did the melody and Jeremy did the harmony. Their biggest mistake was that they accidentally played each other's part but it didn't turn out too badly.
Todd and Tatea played next. Todd performed very well thanks to Song's magic and Tatea always plays well. They ended it with a bow and everyone gave them an impressed applause.
Jaki and Mashou did their symphonies and they played strange looking flutes that were silver with small vine designs on them. They played a song that lulled everyone into a state of relaxation and after they finished, they bowed and giggled at one another. The giggle made Tatea and Todd uncomfortable.
Everyone else performed and they were given marks. Tatea and Todd placed second to Jaki and Mashou. Class ended for lunch and the same old things happened. Todd was relaxed and looked up to the sky and to the clock tower. Todd gave a peculiar look at it and lunch ended.
The next class was Japanese and the minutes flew by like seconds. The bell rang and everyone was dismissed. Todd, Sakura and Madison walked to the turnoff and Todd said. "See you guys tomorrow, I'm going to practice my recorder." Todd walked home and into the main building of the Kyoden manor. Todd walked into his apartment.
Kero flew up from Todd's bedroom and asked. "How was your day?"
"My day was great! It was so good that I wouldn't mind repeating it!" Todd replied cheerily. "I'm going to practice my recorder!"
"I'd better run for cover!" Kero warned himself which earned him a glare from Todd.
"Don't you dare worry! I've been practicing!" Todd replied as he began playing. Todd fingered reasonably well and fell short of breath towards the end which mangled a few notes. Todd smiled as he ended his practice. "That was an hour of practicing, I think that I'm getting better!"
"I think so!" Kero agreed. Kero heard footsteps and flew out of sight as Tori came in through the door.
"Hey Squirt, You practicing the recorder? Why aren't there any shattered windows?"
Todd glared at him and replied. "Because I'm getting better, you creep!"
Todd and Tori ate some dinner and Todd did his homework and had a bath, he yawned as he saw that the time was 9: 33 p.m. Todd brushed his teeth and jumped into bed with the clow book. He studied the clow book for about half an hour and went to sleep.
The next morning, he awoke to...Sunny and Cher again! Todd groaned and asked. "Didn't they play this song before?"
Todd rushed into the kitchen and looked for the pop tarts in the pantry. Todd found them and took them out. He opened the box to reveal that there were none left. Todd looked at the empty box and commented. "There aren't any pop tarts left...but, I threw out the box, or maybe I didn't...?"
Kero flew in and said. "There aren't any groceries because...wait...this looks familiar...oh well." Kero flew to his video game and booted it up. "What!? There's no new data! But I saved!"
"Oh, it was probably just a glitch or something..." Todd replied as he got ready for school. Todd turned and started to ask Kero something but then shook his head and left the apartment.
Todd got to the elevator and went in. The elevator stopped at the third floor and Tatea got on. Todd asked. "Wasn't that music test easy?"
"It was easy, but I have a really weird feeling about today..."
"Huh?" Todd muttered as they reached the bottom floor. Tatea and Todd got off and Todd bladed ahead of her and straight to the school. Todd looked for Sakura and Li and they were both waiting for him at the gateway. Todd skated up to them and asked. "I've had the weirdest feeling of deja vu today."
"That's because there's a clow card around, I know where it is." Sakura replied seriously.
"Right." Li replied. "This is the time card, the time card has the ability to manipulate time any way it wants. It merged with the clock that our school has. Our school has the biggest clock in town."
"How do we defeat this card?" Todd asked. "If he has the ability to control time, he'll make sure that we won't capture him."
"Don't worry, I have a plan to defeat this card." Li replied.
Todd went through his day, doing the exact same thing in order not to wreck his wonderful day. Todd, Li, Sakura and Madison all met at dusk in the school courtyard.
Madison giggled as she revealed Todd's new battle costume. The costume had Todd wearing baggy yellow pants with a huge baggy shirt and a stocking cap on his head. The cap was yellow and black with a dingle bell at the tip of the cap. Madison got Todd to look in the mirror and Todd sighed and asked. "What on earth...?"
"The clothes being baggy are for maximum comfort and the sleigh bell and stocking cap are a nice touch, no?" Madison replied while zooming in with her camera. "This is sleep wear!"
"Only for you, Madison..." Todd sighed as he did a few model poses for Madison. "Only for you..."
Todd turned to Li and Sakura and asked. "So, how do we take this card down and solve this problem?"
"Well, we'll divide into two teams and..." Li trailed off as he saw the Mysterious Stranger appear and Li stated for her. "Well, since you're here...we'll divide into two teams. Todd and You will sneak in through the main door and climb up the clock tower. Me and Sakura will take take the direct approach."
"I got it." Todd replied as he walked up to Li and gave him the Fly Card and the Wood Card. "Take these just in case you need them. You can fly using Sakura's star wand."
"I thought that the key was in the clow book..." Li asked.
"Sakura has mastered the clow cards, she has power over her own star as said by Clow Reed himself. When she needs it, she can call the Key of Star any time." "How did you know about the key of star?" Sakura asked.
"Yue came to me in my latest dream last night and told me all about your power. Yue is also very impressed with our ability to work as a team." Todd replied.
They all began the plan, Li first started off with his pendant summoning and he chanted. "Force of light with ancient spin, send forth the magic power within, force, know my plight...release the light!" Li summoned his sword.
"Come what may I have no fear, for I summon the key of star right here!" Sakura chanted as a blast of light enshrouded her. To Sakura's amazement, the Key of Star appeared right in front of her. The light disappeared and she looked around and chanted. "Key of Star...power of magic...power of light...surrender the wand...the force ignite! Release!!" Sakura's Key of Star turned right into the star wand and she gripped it.
Li handed her the Fly Card and she nodded. "Let's fly!" Sakura slammed the card with her wand and large white wings appeared on her wand. She hopped on the wand and Li got on too. They began their aerial attack on the clock tower.
While this was going on, Todd and the Shrouded One crept into the school. They ran through the hallways with Madison close behind. As Todd approached the stairwell, he took out the shield card and looked over to Madison and stated. "I have a feeling that I'll need this card. Let's go!"
The Time Card was exactly where they expected it to be. Time was huddled in the bell tower and was tinkering with his magical hourglass. Todd and Li timed their entrance perfectly Todd busted into the room first. Time instantly shot a glare at Todd and focused his hourglass. Todd looked on and impaled the Shield card with his spear and chanted. "Shield Card, I command you to protect Sakura, Li, Stranger and Myself from the effects of the Time Card! Shield Card! Release and dispel!" Shield Card broke into a blue mass of energy which flew around all its targets. The energy formed a translucent blue barrier that protected them from time spells. Todd shouted. "Now!"
Li and Sakura busted in and attacked Time from the air. They slammed into Time which knocked Time back. Time was on his knees and Li took out Todd's Wood Card and chanted. "Wood, bind Time now! Wood Card release and dispel!!" Li stuck the Wood Card with his sword point and the card broke into a mass of roots and foliege. Wood grew out and attempted to restrain Time but Time caught on and summoned a Time spell. With a strange blast that inverted the color of all the surroundings, Wood froze into a state of full paralysis. Because of everyone's shield, they were unaffected and Time tried to make his escape through the window that was smashed.
The Mysterious Stranger saw this and replied. "I don't think so! Emerald Flares!"
Much to Time's dismay, the windows were lined with ofudas that had emeralds on them. With the Stranger's words, the ofudas suddenly exploded in a blast of emerald energy that engulfed Time and sent him back to the center of the room. Todd chanted. "Time Card! Return to your power confined! Time Card!!" Todd thrust his spear up and a glowing clow card formed on the tip of the spear. Time tried to exit through the window again but he broke into a mist which filtered into the card, much like sand filters into the bottom part of the hourglass. Time's picture appared on the card and Todd stated. "This card's TIME is up!"
Everyone groaned at Todd's pun and saw in mystification as the card flew up from Todd and flew to the center of the room. Todd turned to Kero, who said nothing during the whole process. Todd asked. "What happens when this happens?"
"The card was captured by everyone equally. Sakura used your Fly Card, Li used your Wood Card, You used the Shield Card, and The Stranger helped us too. It is up to you four to decide who takes this clow card." Kero replied.
"Really?" Todd asked. "Well, who does everyone think that this card should go to? I don't want to take the card."
Everyone looked at him weirdly and Li asked. "What? Why not?"
"This card is a powerful one, I gathered from the clow book that this one is one of the most magic draining cards of them all, since I have 14 cards already, I can't have one card messing up my magic because as you guys have seen, I've gotten spell weariness from some card captures." Todd replied somberly.
"You know I can't take it." Madison replied.
"The time card is not part of my mission to receive." The Shrouded One replied.
"So I guess that leaves you and Sakura." Kero replied to Li. "Who is it going to be? Sakura or you?"
"...Sakura..." Li replied, looking at her.
Everyone looked at Li in a strange way. "Why do you want her to take the card?"
Li paced and explained why he wanted her to have the card. "Sakura has more magical endurance then me, I only realized that she was better then me at card summoning when she faced off against Yue. Yue defeated me very easily, that was because I wasn't the chosen one to have the power. Although a person can train all their life in the ways of magic, compared to those chosen by destiny to wield magic, there would be no competition. Sakura should have the card because I think that she would be better at keeping it then me."
"Thank you, Li..." Sakura replied as she walked up to the card and took it in her hand. "Don't worry everyone...it isn't like last time. Apparently the cards can't be signed and therefore can't be sealed to just one person...so I'll hold the Time Card and I'll give it to anyone in this group who needs it."
Everyone left the School and went back home. Todd was brushing his Teeth as Kero flew in. "Another day, another clow card."
Todd finished up and turned to Kero. "I just thought of something, you hardly give me any help so...are YOU the one who's going to test me?"
"I very well could test you, Yue could too. The decision is still up in the air." Kero replied. "How come you ask?"
"Oh, never mind." Todd replied as he got into bed. "I'll see you in the morning. Hopefully, MY Groundhog day curse has been lifted, after all...this day is Friday and I wouldn't want an endless Friday to get in the way of my weekend."
"You know, I never thought of it that way..." Kero replied.
Quotes from the next episode.
The drive was only about twenty minutes to the airport and they made it in time to see Meilin walking down the stairs in the arrivals section. Meilin saw her friends and hastily ran down the stairs to meet them. Meilin was greeted by Todd, Sakura and Li together. Meilin said to Li. "I missed you!"
"I missed you too, come on! I want you to meet Todd!" Li replied as he introduced her to Todd. "Meilin, this is Todd. He's the new Cardcaptor!"

"No!" Li replied, a little worried. "I don't sense this card anymore. Maybe we could use the Lasin board in order to find this card if it moved to some other area of the city. Force of light with ancient spin, send forth the magic power within! Force, know my plight release the light!" Li used the lasan board and the board lit up with a sky blue aura. The light flashed up and then suddenly fizzled out. Li gave a shocked look. "Wow! It didn't work!"

They leaped off the penguin slide and landed gracefully in front of him. She waved the card around and flaunted it in front of Todd. Todd was very angry by now. She stopped and said. "You can have this card, if you can beat me and Sennae in battle. Ya hear me...?...Fight...Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!!"
"Yeah...Fight. Fight! Fight Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight Fight!" Sennae replied.
They then both chanted in unison. "Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!"
"You think that they want us to fight them?" Todd asked, but then
looked at Li with mischief. "How about it Li? Let's get them!"
