"Hi, Todd." Alicia replied. "I'm home!"
"Mom!" Todd replied as he rushed over to hug her. "It's great that you're home."
"I'm glad, I'll be leaving again for Australia in a week so what do you want to do today?" Alicia asked. "I'll bet you want to do something with that girl, Sakura."
"How did you know about her?" Todd asked, surprised. "You know everything..."
"Yes I know everything." She replied proudly. "Sakura also called and asked if you wanted to do anything?"
"I'd better call back..." Todd mumbled as he picked up the phone. Todd dialed the number and Sakura's phone was ringing. "Hello? Is Sakura there?"
Tori was the one who answered the phone and he called to Sakura. "Sakura! Todd wants to talk to you!"
Sakura ran down the stairs and took the phone from Tori. Sakura spoke into the receiver. "Hey Todd, I called earlier this morning...you must have slept in!"
"I did?" Todd asked as he looked at the clock. Sure enough the clock read 10:11 am. "I guess I did! Oh sorry!"
"Don't worry about it." Sakura replied cheerily. "Want to come over? Li needs to talk to us."
"Sure, see you there. *Click*" Todd replied as he hung up the phone and turned to his mom. "I'm going to Sakura's...I'll be home at dinner."
"Good bye." Alicia replied as Todd got dressed and strapped on his roller blades.
Todd skated out the door and to the elevator. Todd got into the elevator and the elevator stopped at the third floor and Tatea got into the elevator. Todd asked, "So, what are you going to do today?"
"It's none of your business!" Tatea replied, annoyed. "Jeez! Why do you constantly ask me that?"
"No reason, I just care about what you do! You're a member of our class and I just want people to fill me in." Todd replied. "I know it isn't any of my business but…"
"Well, for your information I go to Tai Chi and then Tai Kwan Do and after that, Judo." Tatea replied. "I then have to possibly help out at the theater and then I might go to the party I was invited to after supper. There, you know my plans for today."
Todd gave her a surprised look and asked. "Wow! You do all that?"
"Yeah, sometimes I skip school to do more training. I always pass in my assignments on time, though so I lead a pretty active life." Tatea replied as the elevator opened.
"With all that stuff that you do, I'm surprised that you don't wake up at like, six in the morning." Todd commented as the elevator bumped.
"Well, I was up at six in the morning today, I had to do my therapeutic yoga. If I don't have my yoga, I'm in a bad mood for the rest of the day."
The elevator opened at the bottom floor. Tatea and Todd got off of the elevator and both left the Kyoden Manor and went their separate ways. Todd was humming to himself as he skated through the park. "This is gonna be a pretty good day…or is it? Come on, Todd. Don't jinx the day by saying that…" Todd said to himself as he began thinking about the last time he said that as he went into flashback.
"This is going to be a great day."
Kero popped up from inside of Todd's backpack and looked around. Todd looked over to Kero and stared for a minute. Kero popped back into his school bag and replied. "Hmm, I thought I felt something…never mind." The flashback ended.
"Then, I had to fight the Loop card and get to school. Talk about inconveniencing…" Todd groaned.
Todd felt a twitch and a small movement in his backpack. Kero's head popped out and he replied. "Here I am! I'll be here for you when a clow card strikes."
"Kero you little rat!" Todd replied as he groaned. "Mom didn't see you right?"
"Right!" Kero replied. "I'm the master of disguise and deception."
"Whatever!" Todd replied skeptically. "We're almost to Sakura's house so keep out of sight!" Todd and Kero finally made it to Sakura's house. Todd rang the door bell and the door was answered by Tori. "Hey squirt, what are you selling?"
"I'm not selling anything! You know why I'm here." Todd replied. "I'm here to see…"
"Sakura?" Tori replied. "She's inside with that Li kid, are all three of you friends?"
"Yeah!" Todd replied. "Any more questions, Officer?"
"None, you may proceed with caution." Tori joked as he let Todd into the house.
Todd ran up the stairs to Sakura's room and she and Li were talking. Todd entered and they both looked over and Li scoffed. "Todd! It's about time!"
Todd sat down with Sakura and Li and Li first started. "Meilin is coming here from Hong Kong this afternoon."
"Really? This is so great!" Sakura replied. "It's getting even more like old times."
"So, who is Meilin?" Todd asked. "Is she your relative, Li?"
"No, she is a friend that comes from time to time." Li replied. "She can be a little annoying at times but she's actually quite kind hearted."
"That's nice." Todd replied. "So, is there anything else?"
"Nope, let's go." Sakura replied. "I want to go see first if the new virtual reality arcade is up and running. I think that'll be really cool."
"I don't remember what you're talking about, where is the one at the mall?" Todd asked. "Are you talking about the video arcade there?"
"Yeah! Let's go!" Sakura replied.
They left the house with their roller blade gear on and they skated to the mall. The mall was finally repaired from the incident involving the Wood card. Todd, Sakura and Li skated to the video arcade and sighed as they saw the sign. The sign read. "Under Construction, closed until Sunday."
They sulked and walked back home. Todd was more depressed then the others. "…It would be so cool…I could be like in a video game just like Genki in monster battle 2000x…oh well." Todd, Sakura and Li saw a dark green car pull into park in front of them. The door opened to reveal Li's sensei and teacher. "Master Showron! Meilin is going to arrive in Tokyo in a half an hour so we must go fetch her!"
"Really?" Li asked. "Master, is it okay if Sakura and Todd come with me? We all want to see Meilin."
"Of course, Meilin should be greeted by many who care for her." Li's Sensei replied.
The drive was only about twenty minutes to the airport and they made it in time to see Meilin walking down the stairs in the arrivals section. Meilin saw her friends and hastily ran down the stairs to meet them. Meilin was greeted by Todd, Sakura and Li together. Meilin said to Li. "I missed you!"
"I missed you too, come on! I want you to meet Todd!" Li replied as he introduced her to Todd. "Meilin, this is Todd. He's the new Cardcaptor!"
"So, Avalon caught all the cards...and she was tested right?" Meilin asked.
"Right." Li replied. "And..."
"So...why are you the new Cardcaptor?" Meilin asked, looking at Todd suspiciously. "Wait, oh no! The cards! They were released huh? But wasn't Avalon the one who released the cards? What are you doing with them?"
"I...released the cards by accident." Todd replied. "Sorry about that."
"Well, you needn't worry! Li here is a master, so he'll help you." Meilin replied. "Are you actually good at this? I mean, like, better then Sakura?"
"Hey!" Sakura started. "I caught all the cards so I'm a master too..."
Meilin turned and asked. "So you passed the test huh? That's okay I guess..."
"Come on!" Li's Sensei stated. "Let's not discuss things here, let's go home first and you could have a chance to unpack, Meilin."
The drive home was quick, Meilin spent the time asking questions and being surprisingly nice to Todd. They finally made it home and went into Li's apartment. The apartment hadn't changed, the rooms were still in an orderly fashion and everything was kept neat and Tidy. Meilin's room was made up for her in advance. Everyone walked in and Li's sensei decided to train in the training room.
Everyone sat down at the table. Li got up to get them some cookies and Meilin asked Todd. "So when did you open the clow book and why didn't Avalon keep it?"
"Well, I found the book in the library in the university...and I opened it using this spear." Todd replied as he handed Meilin his pocket spear.
Meilin examined the spear and gave it back to him. "This design looks familiar...It sort of looks like the spear we have at home. It was a ornamental that we have in our house in Hong Kong."
"Wow! Really?" Todd asked. "I didn't know."
"Well, this is actually a pretty common design in China. People with fluent magical powers can use anything as a sealing instrument." Meilin added. "I guess you're pretty good at capturing the cards huh?"
"I do have some of them. There are 20 cards caught and I have 15 of them. Sakura has 1 and a girl we call the Mysterious Stranger has 3…" Todd replied, at first happy but trailed off.
"Who has the other card, I only counted 19...?" Meilin asked.
"A group of really mean creeps called the naughty ones." Todd replied, serious. "They stole the rain card right from us while we were catching it. It was such a cheap shot…"
"Oh..." Meilin replied. "What else do you know about them?"
"I know that the one with the rabbit ears is named Sennae. The other one is named Sennyo, she looks sort of like a fairy. They're capturing cards for their master, the Dark One."
"Dark One...?" Meilin asked, a little confused.
"Ooh! Meilin has found a friend!" Sakura said to Li and Li laughed. "Maybe she'll try to tag along like old times!"
"Right..." Li replied.
Meilin and Todd continued talking, Todd was answering every question that Meilin fired at him. While this was going on, Sakura and Li left the table to watch T.V. and Todd finally replied. "You probably already know this...but the Dark One has been released because I opened the clow book for the tenth time. Sennyo and Sennae are after the cards but a Mysterious Stranger is also after them. She received three clow cards and they are: Shadow, Voice and Little. I really appreciate her help, because she saved my life more then once!"
"Wow! It looks like there are more players in this game...when I was over in Reidenton last, there only was Li Showron and Sakura. I saw Li capture many cards, he's so great at it...I guess Avalon helped a little...but Li could have captured all the cards himself!" Meilin proudly replied. "I'll bet that my Li is helping you a lot! More then Sakura I'll also bet."
Todd gained a mystified look as Meilin kept boasting Li's abilities and belittling Sakura's. Todd couldn't believe what she was saying about Sakura, it shocked him. "I'm...beginning to think that you don't like Sakura very much, do you? And why do you keep boasting Li like that? I'm sorry, just I can't believe that you'd belittle Sakura's talents like that..." He thought as Meilin motored on about how wonderful a person Li is.
"So do you agree?" Meilin suddenly asked.
"Uh, what?" Todd asked. "Well, I think that Li is pretty good at helping me capture the clow cards..." Meilin smiled but Todd continued. "Sakura has also been very helpful too, she tells me all about how I should battle a card and she teaches me things about the clow cards and their weaknesses...she also has Madison to help me capture the cards by dressing me up in outfits that might help me...though I must admit her outfits make me feel a little bit like a rag doll sometimes."
Kero suddenly bursted out of Todd's backpack in a way that surprised everyone in the room. Kero replied. "Todd also has ME, Keroberos: the ancient keeper of knowledge and wisdom who guards the clow cards from evil."
"And a lot of help THAT is..." Todd interrupted, very annoyed. "Sakura and Li are more help then you! Yue himself has helped me more then you do! I mean, the Naughty Ones are evil and you let them get their hands on the Rain card!"
"Expect the unexpected, Todd. It's sometimes destiny that does things like this." Kero replied, taking a meditated stance. "For all we know, it may be destiny that tells that the Dark One is going to be fully released and you will perish defending the world from it. Then it will go on to destroy the whole world and eventually the whole universe!"
"That is NOT funny and you are NOT helping my confidence." Todd replied, annoyed. "I'm getting all the training I'm possibly getting and you just said that it is all useless!"
"It was just a joke, Todd!" Kero replied.
"Doesn't it say somewhere in the world that jokes are funny? Well, here's something, I'm never eating nor getting any pudding ever again!" Todd replied.
"You wouldn't dare!!" Kero yelled, then sank to the floor and almost started crying. "...oh no...oh no...my life is over...but then again I live for thousands of years...so I live a long life...my LONG life is over..."
"It was a joke..." Todd replied. "Now you know how it feels!"
Meilin suddenly interludes. "It's that stuffed animal again! I thought Sakura had it?"
"This is Keroberos! Don't you know?" Todd asked.
"Yeah, I just like calling it stuffed animal." Meilin replied. "It makes him sound a whole lot cuter."
Kero grumbled at what Meilin said, but he gained a better mood when he noticed there were cookies on the table. "Cookies! Woo hoo!" Kero took one and started munching.
Todd laughed at how big a piggy Kero was and continued talking. "I caught the time card last night with Sakura, Li and the Mysterious Stranger. The capture wasn't hard, but since everyone helped in an equal amount, the Time card just floated there. We decided that Sakura was the one who should have it."
"Why would you give it to her?!" Madison questioned, irritated. "You should have gave it to Li! Li has a lot more experience using the Time card."
"I gave the card to Sakura because she was the only one who had all of her magic free of spells. I have a lot of other cards and Li has attack magic that he often helps me with. You probably know that Time eats up a lot of your strength so giving it to Sakura, a girl with a 'clean magic slate' just seemed like a better idea!" Todd replied. "I've used too many clow cards more then once. The feeling of spell weariness is never ever pleasant."
"Well...since you put it that way..." Meilin mumbled. "...well, all you need is some more practice capturing the cards and you're magic will improve and you'll have more stamina. I learned that from Li, Li's great."
"So I heard from you!" Todd replied, happy but almost sarcastic. Todd suddenly gained a headache and Meilin looked on and looked a little confused. Todd said. "Hey guys, did you just feel that?"
Sakura looked up and replied. "Yes I did! There's a clow card and there's something else. Something that makes my head hurt. Li, Todd, Let's go!"
Todd opened the door and Sakura and Li left the apartment. Todd looked at Meilin and asked. "Are you coming with us, Meilin?"
"AM I?!" Meilin replied cheerily as she left the apartment.
Todd was about to leave when Li's sensei came out of the training room. Todd called to him. "We have to go catch a clow card, duty calls! Thanks for having us over!"
"You're very welcome!" He called back as Todd left to join his friends. "What a good mannered young man!"
Todd and Kero caught up with Sakura and Li as they made their exit out of Li's apartment building. Todd asked Li. "Use the lasin board to find the clow card."
Li took out his lasan board and chanted. "Source of light with ancient spin, send forth the magic power within...oracles of gold, wood, fire, earth, clouds, wind, rain, and electricity...force know my plight release the light!" Li held up the lasan board as the center started glowing a bright blue. The wheel spun and a beam of light shot out from it and into the park.
"Good! It's in the park! How convenient!" Todd replied cheerily as he took out his pocket spear and started chanting. "Spear of Todd...power of magic...power of light...surrender the spear...the force ignite! Release!" Todd's spear lifted out of his hand and floated up. A bright flash emitted and sent out thousands of sparkles of light. The light vanished to reveal the spear at full size. Todd gripped the spear and took out the fly card. "Let's fly!" Todd slammed the card with his spear and white wings grew on his spearhead. Todd looked back and said. "I'll get there first. See you there!"
"Right! Let's go Todd!" Kero replied as he flew into Todd's backpack.
As Todd flew off, Meilin came out of the apartment and asked. "Where's the card? Where did Todd go?"
Sakura and Li started running after Todd who was now high in the sky. Meilin ran after them and they all eventually ran to the park where Todd was waiting for them. They took a look at Todd's perplexed disposition and Meilin asked. "Huh? What's wrong?"
"I don't sense the clow card any more..." Todd replied. "Kero, is it an element card? You know, one of those hard to sense ones?"
"No...I don't sense ANYTHING!" Kero replied, very worried. "This is weird."
"Todd's right! I don't sense this card anymore either...!" Sakura replied. "Do you sense this card Li?"
"No!" Li replied, a little worried. "I don't sense this card anymore. Maybe we could use the Lasin board in order to find this card if it moved to some other area of the city. Force of light with ancient spin, send forth the magic power within! Force, know my plight release the light!" Li used the lasan board and the board lit up with a sky blue aura. The light flashed up and then suddenly fizzled out. Li gave a shocked look. "Wow! It didn't work!"
"What do you mean it didn't work?" Todd asked, a little worried. "The lasan board never fails!"
"Maybe, it's...or maybe it could be...or what if..." Todd mumbled as his spear's wings vanished. Todd trailed off and then replied flatly. "It never fails, something's wrong!"
A familiar voice suddenly replied to Todd. "Yeah something's wrong all right! Hee, hee, hee!!"
Todd looked up and put his hands to his face and groaned. "Oh no...not them again!"
On top of the penguin slide stood the two, Sennyo and Sennae. They leered and snickered at him. Sennyo called out to him. "Hey Toddy boy! What're ya doin' here? Lookin' for this?" She laughed evilly and took out the Glow card.
"That's our clow card, you Clowns!" Todd snapped angrily. "I'll do what ever it takes to get it back from you guys! Prepare yourself!!"
They leaped off the penguin slide and landed gracefully in front of him. She waved the card around and flaunted it in front of Todd. Todd was very angry by now. She stopped and said. "You can have this card, if you can beat me and Sennae in battle. Ya hear me...?...Fight...Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!!"
"Yeah...Fight. Fight! Fight Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight Fight!" Sennae replied.
They then both chanted in unison. "Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!"
"You think that they want us to fight them?" Todd asked, but then looked at Li with mischief. "How about it Li! Let's get them!"
"Okay!" Li replied, smirking. "We'll fight them and win the card. It'll be fine so with your magic and mine, we'll be ready, to battle."
Li and Todd turned and faced off against Sennyo and Sennae. Sennyo and Sennae looked at each other and smirked. Todd and Li's intense looks reached them and their gazes locked and a wind blew some dust across the scene which added to Sakura and Meilin's tension. Madison was taping every moment with building glee. She said. "This is so cool! It's like the calm before the storm...it's just like a western movie!"
Sennyo and Sennae suddenly leaped up high up and Todd and Li looked up after them. Li positioned his sword and shouted. "Lightning!!" Li swung his sword and a bolt of lightning was flung from it. The bolt streaked towards them and Sennyo responded by using the starlight barrier and the lightning was deflected. Todd and Li dodged quickly to avoid being stomped. Todd positioned his spear. "Magic Missile!" Todd's spear gained a glowing ball of energy and Todd flung it at Sennae which hit him square in the chest, Sennae was knocked back but unscathed.
Sennae leered evilly at Todd and positioned his hands and chanted. "Magic that stings...with black stars I fling! Stardust march!!" The area between his hands gained an amount of black stars and he shot them at Todd. They flew square and ravaged him, Todd was sent back many feet and flopped on the ground. Todd coughed and saw that he was all dirty from tumbling.
Li slammed an ofuda on the guard of his sword and shouted. "Now Element! Wind!" The Ofuda suddenly bursted into a stormy gust of wind which knocked both Sennyo and Sennae off their feet. Li then summoned a bolt of lightning which struck them both. They cried out as electricity coursed throughout their bodies and they were singed slightly. They got up and gained an evil hating glare. They both raised their hands and chanted. "Summon despair beyond the void and cause some pain. To shut out light and seal in bane! Abyss!!"
Li looked in horror as an evil looking circled design appeared in a glowing yellow hue below him. The design flashed and from the top, a darkened globe appeared, covering him. Then he was hit by a mass of purple gas that burned and ravaged him. The design disappeared as Li fell to his knees and collapsed. Sennyo and Sennae laughed with evil as Todd and Sakura ran to him to see if he was all right.
Todd shook Li and asked in a horrified worried tone. "Li, come on...wake up!"
Sakura checked him and replied. "Don't worry, he's fine. He's just...sleeping?!"
Li snorted and breathed in again. Todd and Sakura smiled stupidly as Li began snoring. Todd finally said. "Okay...? Now...to the naughty ones!" Todd got up and told Sakura to move Li out of the way. She nodded and moved him.
Sennyo and Sennae giggled evilly and shouted. "You're next! Hee, hee, hee..."
"Yeah, you won't be able to beat me!" Todd replied as he took out the Shield card and the Watery Card. "These guys should take care of this situation. Hey Kero! What can you say to help me!"
"Nothing, but use the cards wisely. You've never used them against a rival before!" Kero replied. "Come on! Win the card back for us!"
"Summon despair beyond the void and cause some pain. To shut out light and seal in bane! Abyss!!" The two chanted and the exact same design appeared below Todd's feet.
Todd realized this and he slammed the shield card with his spear. "Shield, protect me from this spell!" Shield card broke into a mass of energy that surrounded Todd with a slightly blue barrier. The same globe surrounded Todd as Li and the ravaging black energy surrounded the shield, but the shield held easily. Todd laughed as the enemy spell vanished. "Ha! Now its my turn. Watery! I command you to attack the Naughty ones with your power! Watery, release and dispel!!" Todd slammed the Watery card with his spear and the card broke into a mass of swirling blue energy which collected and formed into Watery.
Watery lunged at them but they dodged out of the way. They giggled evilly and Sennae countered with stardust march. He flung the black stars which smashed against Watery with a crash and the stars exploded in a black blast. Watery was knocked back, but reformed into itself. Water spun around and formed some magic bubbles in her hands. Watery launched them at the Naughty Ones and Sennyo put up the starlight barrier. The bubbles crashed into the barrier and mushed into the barrier. Sennyo and Sennae laughed and took down the barrier. The bubbles however, didn't clear and ended up attaching themselves to Sennyo and Sennae. They cried out and tried to remove the bubbles but watery took the opportunity and shot more bubbles at them and the bubbles crashed into them, forming a sticky, foamy mess. They were trapped.
Todd ran up to watery and said. "Thanks Watery! I'll take it from here!" Todd positioned his spear and chanted. "Summon the force which comes from within! Magic Missile!" Todd's spear gained a glowing ball of energy at the tip. Todd flung the ball at the Naughty Ones and the energy ball crashed right into them and bursted into a pillar of aurora light. They were knocked back and the bubbles bursted. "Ha, ha, ha! We win! Now honor your part of the bargin!"
Instead of responding, Sennyo flew up and shrieked angrily. "Urrggghh! We're...LEAVING!!!!!" She opened her hand and hurled a smoke bomb at Todd. The bomb hit Todd with a blast of smoke that covered the whole playground area of the park. Todd, Sakura, Meilin and Kero coughed and choked in the fumes. When the fumes diffused, the Naughty Ones were gone.
"Hey! They skipped out! Last time I trust someone who's totally evil..." Todd grumbled but ran to Li who was waking up.
Li slowly got up and asked. "So Todd, did we win the fight?"
"Did you get the card back?" Sakura asked.
"Yeah, we won but the Naughty Ones skipped out. I'm afraid that we lost the Glow card..." Todd mumbled, depressed.
"Oh no..." Kero replied. "...don't worry, you'll get the card next time..."
Li narrowed his eyes to the ground and sighed. Sakura sighed as well and they all looked over to see Madison and Meilin running up to them. Meilin innately ran to Li to see if he was all right and Madison ran to Sakura, Li and Todd. "Are you guys all right?"
"No, we aren't all right..." Todd replied grimly. "We lost another clow card to the Naughty Ones...this is not good."

All of a sudden, Todd heard a sigh and realized that his mom was waking
up. Todd got up as well
and they both met in the kitchen. Todd asked. "So, mommy dearest...what
are you have in store for
yourself today?"
"Hmm...well, actually I have a date today. We're going on a picnic...but
he's bringing his daughter as
well. I wonder how she'll react to me because most kids don't react
nicely to people who could very
well become their step mother..."
"Step mother?" Todd asked. "Is the guy you're after a widower?"

"Hey, I'm bored, Kero so don't bother me..." Todd looked up at the clouds
and sighed. "I hope
there is something that could occupy my next hour. Todd looked down
to Kero and smiled. Kero
smiled back and Todd looked back up to the sky. Suddenly a figure jumped
from the top of the
retaining wall and landed on the area on front of Todd. Todd gaped
at the woman running off, she
was wearing a strange outfit. She looked back and continued to run.
Todd asked Kero. "What on
earth...was that thing...?"

Alicia and Aiden smiled when the Power card approached them. Power smiled
and giggled. Aiden
asked. "Are you lost little girl?"
Power shook her head and found a large rock. She turned to Aiden and
Alicia and smiled. Aiden
asked. "Are you going to show us a trick?"
Power nodded and she effortlessly lifted the huge rock over her head.
Alicia and Aiden clapped with
approval and said. "Bravo!"
Power leered at Aiden and Alicia and chucked the rock right up and targeted
them both.
