Todd looked about and saw where he was once again. He was in the lasin shrine with his spear drawn and his expression hard. Harvester stepped up and gave him a defiant look and smirked at him. "You really ready this time?"
"I think so. I've improved my skill somewhat..." Todd replied, gripping his spear and sizing him up. "I was defeated by you once but that won't happen again!"
"You'll have to show me to make me believe that you have gained any skill at all. I don't think capturing a couple of clow cards has made you the ultimate champ of the entire world. Besides, I have more powers than just elemental magic like Li Showron." Harvester swiftly commented. "Li knows the ways of the Lasin but he has gone soft."
"How do you know so much about Li Showron?" Todd asked intently and suspiciously. "He doesn't even live in this world!"
"I've digressed a lot, I've been training under the ways of the Lasin for quite some time. Li would be no match for me." Harvester scoffed. "I'll answer your question too, Li and I also go back. But that's all you'll get for now, so let's fight!"
Harvester leapt up and Todd took out the shield card. "Shield card! Protect me!" He slammed down on the card and a blue barrier formed around Todd's body. Harvester came down on it and bounced off of the shiny blue barrier and the force knocked Todd back. Todd rose his spear to the sky and chanted. "Summon the force which comes from within! Magic Missile!!" A white orb of light grew and appeared on Todd's spear and he launched it at harvester. The blast hit Harvester and knocked him into the courtyard river. Todd's eyes lit up and he took out the thunder card and chanted. "Thunder, release and dispel! Attack!" He brought the spear down on the card and it swirled and formed into dazzling crackles of electricity and formed into Raijuu's body. Raijuu dove down at Harvester and he jumped out of the moat before it could electrify.
"Force, know my plight, release the light!! Lightning!" Harvester focused his thoughts and shot a blast of lightning from his Twin Viper at Raijuu, smashing it with a bolt. Raijuu was knocked into the moat and Harvester took out an elemental ofuda and chanted again. "Now, element...Water!!" He threw the ofuda up and it came down on the Viper blade and the water around Raijuu swirled and bound Raijuu tightly. Harvester leaped up, Twin Viper ready and sliced through Raijuu. Raijuu transformed back into a card and flew back to Todd.
Todd jumped back. "So, Thunder isn't good enough huh? Well, I'll just have to use...whoa!" Todd jumped out of the way of Harvester who lunged at him. "Jump card!" Todd gained winged feet and he leapt out of harm's way. Todd landed on the wall that bordered the Lasin shrine and looked down in surprise as Harvester leapt up to him. Todd jumped away from him and shouted to him from the air. "Hey! You can't jump high!"
"Oh yes I can, I've learned to use innate jump abilities! I don't need your sissy jump card!" Harvester took out another ofuda and threw it into the air. "Now, element!! Fire!!" Harvester used the ofuda and a huge stream of flame shot at Todd.
"Whoa! Shield!" Todd summoned the shield card's barrier again with his staff but the force from the flame knocked him into the Lasin courtyard river and tumbled to the ground.
"It's over..." Harvester rasped as he positioned his Twin Viper and chanted. "Lightning!!" He shot another bolt of lightning which connected. It crackled and zapped all around and electrocuted Todd, he cried out from the shocking experience. "You still aren't ready...You should have realized by now that the Shield card will protect you from damage but not by force. If the magic is strong enough, you'll get knocked back and you should know that Shield doesn't last forever."
"Ouch!" Todd yelled. "Not again! I lose!"
"Don't feel too bad, at least I didn't wallop you as bad as last time." Harvester commented as he walked away. "You should be thankful that I was in a good mood. Well...I'll see you later." Harvester took out a smoke bomb and ignited it. When the smoke cleared, he was gone.
"Oh man, I can't believe I lost again!" Todd cursed as he looked around. "When am I going to get that new spell you promised?"
"When you capture 30 clow cards...you shant worry for you only have a few more to capture left." The Figure in shadow replied. "Well, you will be leaving soon so is there anything else you want to ask me?"
"Yeah, who are you? Are you that Harvester Guy?" Todd asked in wonder. "You don't look like him..."
"Well, I'm not!" The figure protested. "Don't be so eager to learn, you will learn everything when time permits. Have you figured out who the person who is under the influence of the dark one yet?"
"Nope! I haven't even gave it a thought!" Todd said. "You have any hints?"
"Yes, it is about the sixth set of clow cards, they were Song, Sweet and Flower. They represent a girl I'm sure you know. She is only one of the six possible candidates for the dark one's carrier. Well, it should give you something to think about when you awaken."
Suddenly the area around Todd was glowing brightly. He started to float up and out of the lasin shrine. He awoke to the sound of his alarm clock buzzing and buzzing out of control. He slammed the snooze alarm and snuggled back down in his bed. Buzz, buzz, buzz, the alarm was going again and he got up again and slammed down on the alarm and once again, snuggled back down in his bed. BUZZ, BUZZ BUZZZZ!!!! He got up and glared at the clock. "Kero, why don't you ever let me sleep in?"
"Because you should be up nice and early! It's a school day!" Kero cheered. "You went out on a date last night! Woo, woo, woo! Who with? Sakura by any chance? Madison filled me in! What happened?"
"I think Sakura dumped me..." Todd replied, looking up at the ceiling. "But she really couldn't have because we weren't boyfriend girlfriend in the first place. Well, According to her, Madison likes me so it's not so bad." Todd got up from his bed and stood up and looked at the calendar. He smiled and noticed that it wasn't May, he had just forgotten to tear off the page. He hadn't looked at the calendar and realized. "Whoa! Cool! My birthday is in three days! I can't believe I almost missed it!"
"Your birthday?" Kero asked as he floated up. "I'd better get you a present!"
"You don't have to...and I don't really want a
party." Todd smiled. "Clow cards, and my friends are
enough for me!"
Kero snickered and turned away from Todd thinking. "I think we're gonna have a surprise party for him! Madison and I'll see to it!"
"Augh! I'd better get ready for school!" Todd ran to his dresser and zipped into his uniform and tore through the curtain to not see breakfast on the table but a note. Todd ran over to get it and he read it to Kero. "Dear Todd, I'm not your baby-sitter anymore. Your mother came home last night so I wish you good luck and good grades in the future." He smiled warmly. "Aww Miss Mackenzie, you shouldn't have given me this nice note. You didn't have to." He continued reading. "PS: I've got a present for you, it's hidden and only your Mother knows about it." Todd smiled again. "Isn't that nice? She got me a present!" He continued reading. "PPS: You have an assignment on the laws of motion due next wednesday. Don't forget about it and don't do it on the last day." He frowned and gained a sulky face. "Always looking out for me, that's niiice..."
"I think that the last thing she gave you would be the most useful!" Kero joked, getting him his book bag. "Well, I'm going to stay home."
"Well, stay out of sight. Mom's home so don't blow your cover." Todd warned him and packed up his book bag. "I'll snag something at the cafeteria later, I'll bring a couple of bucks."
"Wait! How would you fit them in the book bag?" Kero called after him as Todd skated out the door. "I didn't know that Todd liked to eat deer...?"
Todd looked back as he skated to the door. "What did kero say about deer? Oh well...into the elevator..." He skated out the door and into the elevator.
As usual, the Elevator stopped at third and revealed Tatea. Tatea was in an upsettingly good mood and she walked up to Todd in the elevator and smiled malevolently. "I heard you and Sakura went out."
"How did you know?!" Todd demanded.
"Miiko told me, he was spying on you." Tatea replied. "You got dumped huh? Well..."
"Who told you that?! Miiko?!" Todd demanded once again. "Gee, for someone who hates me you sure are gossipy about me..."
"Simmer down Todd...I never told anyone. I knew you were dumped because of your aura. It showed confusion and sadness but it also has happiness and hope for the future. Could it be that Sakura wasn't who you truly wanted?" Tatea inquired to Todd who was blushing a bit. "I also learned something else...it seems that you almost caught 30 clow cards...and about 35 or so have been caught all together...it won't be long now..."
"What's that supposed to mean?!" Todd demanded.
"It means that the stakes are higher, and the final battle will soon be set. You have a big surprise but that's a secret. I'll tell you more when your ready." Tatea turned away from him and the door out opened almost in a convenient way. Tatea got off and Todd skated ahead of her. "Just remember to watch yourself, THEY are watching you."
Todd shivered when he got out of the Kyodon building and skated to the sidewalk. "Man, that was kind of creepy...how does she notice all of these things?! I wonder if she could be the one with the Dark One's spirit...?" He shrugged to himself. "I'll ask her later. Now it's time for School!"
Todd skated up to Sakura and Madison who were waiting for them. Madison took out a picture from her backpack and gave it to him. "Here's your next battle costume. I figured you needed to dress in something a little more millennium!"
Todd examined the picture very closely and he gained a mystified, strange look on his face. The picture was of a mannequin wearing a blue cape, bulky plastic looking shoulder pads and a vest guard. The head piece had a large blue plume and the boots were ankle high. "Wow, this looks very...protective!"
"I knew you'd like it. It would look so cute on you! It'll be for your next card capture. I'll bring the camera and we'll be all set and ready to go!" She squeaked, obviously quite hyper.
"How much sugar have you had?" Todd asked quietly and she grabbed his hands.
Sakura and Li were sitting there looking at them with tiny eyes. Sakura whispers to Li and asks. "Do I sound like that?"
"Only when you have lots of sugar on board..." Li replied softly.
Madison went on about her breakfast. "About...5 or 6 table spoons in my cereal and some in my tea and maybe some in the pastries and not to mention syrup on the pancakes. Say...you want me to swing by after school and do your measurements to see if the costume fits right?" Madison asked eagerly. "You just say the word and I'm there!"
"I don't think so...I don't think I've changed much since last week when you did it." Todd began when the bell suddenly rang.
They all went inside the school and the school day began. Todd sat down in his desk and the others sat and he took out his class gear and he was at first fine but then he got the urge. Todd ignored it and stared at Miss Mackenzie's writing and the urge just wouldn't go away. The urge increased more and more and Todd tried desperately to fight it. He couldn't resist and fell asleep, he started to dream and he looked around.
"This isn't the Lasin shrine..." Todd murmured. "Where am I?"
He looked around and stared at the tower. He looked hard at someone who was on top of the tower. The person's face was in shadow and it looked like the person was wearing a long cape and it looked like he or she was staring back at him. The look was one full of coldness but assurance. Todd noticed he was wearing his white getup and had his spear already out. "Who is that? I'm gonna check it out!" He took out the jump card and used it and white wings grew on his feet. He leapt up high and suddenly was awakened.
Todd suddenly woke up with Miss Mackenzie smiling back at him. "I'm sorry that we woke you up during your...dream experience but you'll have to spend lunch here in detention. Sorry but rules are rules."
Todd sank back in his chair and sighed. "Thanks..."
The bell rang for lunch and everyone was let out but Todd. Todd sighed and looked up at the board. "I'm sorry I fell asleep but I think the dream was another message. I was up on a rooftop when I saw a figure in shadow. I went to see who it was when you woke me up...I had clow cards so..."
"You were probably dreaming about your final judgment." Miss Mackenzie replied and then drank some coffee. "It's going to get more and more clear on who is going to test you..."
"I wonder..." Todd wondered. "Is the final judgment going to come from Yue?"
"I don't know." Miss Mackenzie shrugged slightly. "Whoever or Whatever is going to show themselves to you in s short time."
"Hmm?" Todd mumbled.
"Don't be in such a rush. Time is not forever, you need to spend your time training." She replied. "Don't worry so much about your final judgment."
Todd stared up at the roof, in thought. "I wonder what everyone's doing right now?"
The lunch room was full of people. Li and Meilin sat down with Sakura and Madison and they ate their lunch quickly. Meilin leaned over to Sakura and asked. "What do you think happened to Todd?"
"He's in detention for sleeping." Sakura replied. "That's about all there is to it."
"Yeah but what do detention people do?" Meilin asked Sakura. "You've been there lots of times right so you should know exactly what I'm talking about."
"EXCUSE me, but I hardly ever have detention!" Sakura protested.
"Where's Jeremy going?" Madison asked as she turned them over to Jeremy's direction. "He just went through the door into the courtyard! Isn't he going to eat lunch?"
Jeremy closed the door behind him and walked clear out of the courtyard and looked through the windows of stores on the down town street. He saw some candy in the first window and looked in another and saw some toys. "Hmm...these aren't going to work out. I'd better go look for some others. I wonder what Todd would like for his birthday..." Jeremy asked to himself as he went around to the stores. "I've been saving up for a present forever... maybe...he'd like a book! One of those choose your own adventure books!" Jeremy hastily went into the book store and looked around.
The book store was nothing special, it had tons
of both used and new books and some were just
bursting from the shelves. Jeremy looked through
them and thought to himself. "This book is
cool...but I'm getting a strange feeling from
it. It must be the right book!" Jeremy took it to the front
counter and a writing quill fell from the pages
and he picked it up. "A writing quill! That's cool...wrap it up!" He took
the book and he went to the front register and gave it to the girl working
there. "Here! I wanna buy this!"
"Okay! I'll just ring it through." The young woman rung it through and it didn't scan. She did it again but the book wouldn't scan. "This is odd...The book won't scan." She turned to an older woman working there. "Hey Bella! How much is this book? I don't see a price tag and the scanner won't ring it up!"
Bella checked the book and there wasn't a tag or any pricing on it whatsoever. Bella sighed and shrugged. "15 dollars would be an okay price. I wonder why it won't scan though?"
Jeremy gave her the money and took the book. He put it in his book bag and ran back to the school. When he came in, he walked up to Todd who was getting his stuff ready for the next class. "Hey, Todd! Sorry ya got detention!"
Todd stared at him. "You don't need to say that. It isn't your fault."
"So when are you going to have that birthday bash?" Jeremy asked. "You invitin' me?"
"Yeah, I would but I don't know if I'm gonna have a bash this year. I just want to keep it small." Todd shrugged to him. "Maybe we'll just play video games together."
"That sound's pretty cool!" Jeremy replied. "I got you a present too!"
"You didn't have to." Todd replied. "I don't care."
"Well...you'll love this. I guarantee it!" Jeremy smiled.
"Is it going to be gross? I don't like gross things..." Todd thought. "Knowing you, you probably got me something dirty..."
"It's not gross! I even took some serious time getting it for you. I'm not lettin' you peek though." Jeremy said to him flatly. "It's a seeecret."
Todd was suddenly hit with an awful feeling. He shuddered suddenly and looked around and he saw their eyes first. Ones bright green and ones bright yellow and he saw their smirks and their unbearable auras. He turned around and sure enough, he saw the smiling faces of Jaki and Mashou. Jaki first started. "Hi Todd...Hi Jeremy..."
"Hi...Jaki and Mashou..." Todd managed to smile even though he was mildly creeped out. "What are you guys doing lately?"
"You know...stuff..." Mashou replied. "Well...you'll have to excuse us. We have important things to do. Take care Todd...watch yourself carefully...heh, heh, heh..." They both walked away, almost gliding out of sight.
"Brrr...those guys have a chillyness about them." Todd commented. "I wonder if..."
"Well, Todd! We'd better get to class, or else we'll both be in detention." Jeremy replied and then he walked away.
"He's grown up a bit." Todd commented and followed him into the class. Class was boring as usual. Music class was upon them and they ran into the classroom and set up their instruments. Todd took his recorder from his bag and asked Tatea. "You ready for the class wide recital?"
"I'm ready for anything...the real question is that are YOU ready?" Tatea asked in response. "You're no good at playing."
"I am so!" Todd frowned. "I practiced?"
"By cheating with the song card again?" Tatea asked. "You really shouldn't do something stupid like that. People are watching you...and I'm not sure that they like what they see."
"You worry about yourself. I practiced and I didn't use the song card." Todd angrily stated.
The recital began and everyone played with relative ease. They were getting better at playing and it started to even show with Todd. He messed up from time to time but he could play the recorder pretty well. When class was over, it was time to go home so Todd went to his locker and everyone went home. That night, Todd was sitting down to his homework and his mom was at the table too.
"More of these dumb fantasy Zatinar questions...I don't think I'll be able to take it any longer." Todd griped. "These numbers are totally wrong..."
"Todd, I want to talk to you about something." Alicia stated flatly. "Is there something you've been keeping in your room?"
Todd blinked and went pale. "Um...no...nothing in my room..."
"Well I keep finding food in your room...pudding cups." Alicia's eyes glimmered and she smiled. "Is there a certain something in your room that's eating those...a little creature...?"
"Oh no...she's found out about kero didn't she?" Todd thought and sighed. "I don't know what you're..."
"Hi Todd!" Kero flew out of his room at that. "Hi Ms. Arcana! Care for another round of Monster Battle?"
Todd glared at him. "You challenged her didn't you!?"
"Yeah...your point being?" Kero asked delightfully and Todd rushed over to him. "Don't blow a fuse in your head, Todd. She found me..."
"That doesn't make me feel any..." Todd trailed off and frowned. "Wait...I sensed something..."
"That could only mean that there's a clow card around!" Kero smiled. "Finally some action!"
"Clow card...? What do you mean?" Alicia asked.
"I'll explain later, I just need to get there real soon!" Todd said as he put this coat on and rushed out the door. "Back in a while!"
Todd ran out of the Kyodon Manor and Li and Sakura were already there. They were dressed in strange clothing. Li was dressed in a fool's costume and Sakura was dressed up as a leather clad valkyrie. Madison was there too and she was dressed in a less leathered up valkyrie but she was still wielding her trusty camera.
Todd approached them all and asked. "...Is this the newest battle costume?"
"No but...don't they look great?" Madison asked brightly and everyone else collapsed from annoyance. "They look so cool!"
"Why do I look like some sort of imp?" Kero demanded to himself and felt a rising anger within him. He could fly, but he was green with a pointy tail and he had horns on his head. His wings were like wings of a bat. "Ugh, I look so dumb!"
"I think Sakura and you look like you're from Xena, Warrior Princess." Todd nodded and he looked over himself. He found himself also in leather outfit that showed off most of his chest. "...What the?"
"You look very handsome, Todd!" Madison smiled. "You're in costume too!"
Todd looked himself over and gasped. He was wearing a chest plate and had a buckler on his arm. He even had a cape and a set of leather boots. "Why are we wearing these?"
"It's all because of the create card! It's trapped us in a story..." Li scowled and tucked his arms tightly. "I really hate being in this costume! I look stupid!"
"I'll have to agree..." Kero smiled smugly and Li glared at him.
"Well, it's too late now..." Sakura sighed. "Now a forest has popped up..."
* * *
Meanwhile in Jeremy's room, he was sitting at the desk. He was writing quickly with the quill and he looked around in pondering. "Hmm...I got Sakura, Li, Madison and Todd in here...so what villian shall I pit them against?" Jeremy's eyes lit up in realization and he smiled. "I know! Since Todd and Li are some sort of sorcerers, I'll pit them against an evil wizard!" Jeremy clenched his fists and gritted his teeth in a state of pseudo anger. "I'll call him, BEARDO!!"
* * *
Sakura gripped her wand and frowned as the group walked through the new mist filled forest that Jeremy created popped up. They felt a strange force watching them and it made them all uneasy. Madison looked around and commented. "Whoa, this is creepy..."
"I wonder if we're going to fight some sort of demon or dragon or something?" Todd muttered. "I'll bet we are..."
"Yeah, I only hope I don't have to fight it dressed like THIS!" Li growled.
"Li, there's no point in complaining..." Kero added. "Besides, that's your brat friend's job."
"Leave Meilin out of this!" Li snapped.
Suddenly there was an ominous laughter in the distance. The forest hid most of what lurked beyond so no one could tell who it was. Suddenly with a firey blast, a wizard with a long beard, a purple robe and a crooked looking staff appeared. "It is I, Beardo the wizard!"
"Well, the author doesn't get points for originality..." Kero mumbled, slightly annoyed.
"Beardo...?" Sakura said as a slight smile appeared on her face. "That's cute..."
"Silence infidels and taste my magical powers!" Beardo commanded and he shot a bolt of lightning at them. They hit the floor and it zoomed above them. "You will tremble before the might of BEARDO!!"
"I don't think I'll tremble over a wizard with a name like Beardo..." Todd smiled as he took out the Through Card. He jumped up and raised his spear. He brought it down on Through and commanded. "Through card! Set up a hole to make the wizard fall into! Release and Dispel!" Through broke into a mass of swirls and flew below the wizard, forming a hole under him.
"AUGH!" The wizard yelled as he fell into the hole and the hole closed in on them. "Argh! You haven't seen the last of BEARDO, the wizard!"
"Let's hope we don't. I don't think we'll be able to take much more from BEARDO..." Todd smiled to the rest. They smiled for an instant and gained a look of surprise. Todd turned around to see Beardo right in front of them. Todd and everyone facefell onto the ground.
Beardo jumped back and scowled. "It'll take more than that to defeat the mighty BEARDO!"
"Oh goodness, is he STILL here?" Kero groaned.
Beardo raised his staff and smiled wickedly. He swirled his staff over his head and the sky darkened. Suddenly several lightning bolts rained down from the heavens and Todd and Everyone gasped as they frantically dodged each lightning bolt. "HA HA HA! YOU CAN NEVER DEFEAT ME. Summoning the quakes of the earth!" He waved his staff and struck it to the ground, summoning a violent shaking that knocked everyone off their feet. The wizard went to say something but he suddenly vanished.
* * *
"Nah, that's dumb..." Jeremy mumbled, erasing the wizard from the story. "How about a dragon instead?"
* * *
"Um...what just happened?" Madison asked. "I thought we were battling some sort of wizard?"
"I think the writer erased it!" Kero replied wisely. "He probably didn't like the wizard idea. But what would he use instead?"
"UM...THAT?!" Todd pointed an unsteady finger at the creature before them. They all gasped when they saw that they were to fight a huge black dragon with gigantic wings, claws and a huge, dangerous tail. The dragon roared above the canopy of the forest foliege and glared at the warriors below him.
Everyone stepped back and gulped. Todd turned to Kero and asked. "Um, what do we do now?"
"Well, what I did was that I made myself Big with the Big card." Sakura pointed out. "How about you give it a try?"
"Sure!" Todd smirked and took out the big card. They looked up and cried out when they were assaulted with a huge stream of flame. "Augh! Someone do something!"
"Now, Element! Ward!" Li shouted as he placed an ofuda on his sword. A large greenish barrier sprung up and deflected the flames from them.
Todd took the chance and summoned the Big spirit. Big appeared and tapped him with her wand, causing Todd to grow huge. He was now as big as the dragon and they took fighting stances. The dragon tried to slam Todd with his tail but he ducked and rushed in with his spear. He stabbed into the dragon with his spear and it screamed in pain. Instead of dying like it was supposed to, it simply vanished.
Todd shrank down to his original size and turned to them. "He erased the dragon, didn't he?"
"Yeah..." Kero groaned heavily.
* * *
"No, Dragons aren't gonna do it either..." Jeremy frowned and then perked up. "Hey! How about an evil army?"
* * *
Todd, Madison, Li and Sakura as well as Kero all frowned and sighed anime style when they saw the legion head for them. They all prepared to fight but by the time the army got to them, they vanished too. A couple of minutes later, they saw a huge Ogre monster run at them but it vanished too. They almost had to fight a huge knight, a witch, a Manticore, a Wyrm, a Hellhound and then a giant spider. None did anything though, because they vanished by the time they got to the group.
"COME ON! MAKE UP YOUR FREAKIN' MIND!!!" Kero screamed at the top of his lungs. "At least make us fight SOMETHING!"
"I'll have to agree with Kero on this one...this IS getting a little irritating." Li mumbled.
* * *
Jeremy sighed and looked the story over. "Aw man! I just don't have an idea!" He looked around his room and sagged in his chair. "Oh, Man...writer's block."
From outside his room, he heard his mom call. "Jeremy! It's 10! Time for bed!"
"Oh okay...I guess an idea will come to me in the morning." Jeremy sighed and left his post at the desk.
* * *
"Huh?" Todd asked. "How come everything's going all weird?" Todd and everyone noticed that the forest and everything around was starting to fade away.
"The writer's calling it a night!" Kero smiled.
"Seal the card before it vanishes!" Li told him and Todd nodded.
"Okay! Create Card! Return to your power confined!!" Todd brought his spear up and a glowing card silhouette appeared on the tip of the spear head. Everything was drawn into the glowing card image and Create's picture appeared on the card. Jeremy left his room as the book on his desk began to glow and it vanished. The picture of the card was of the book Jeremy had. Todd took the card and smiled. "I did it!"
"Great capture." Li and Sakura nodded.
"Another card goes to the future master!" Kero nodded brightly. "Great Job!"
"I got it all on tape too!" Madison winked. "Fun huh?"
Everyone found themselves back at the Kyodon Manor's parking lot and they weren't in their epic heroic costumes. Todd sighed and pocketed the card. "Well, that was fun."
Sakura and Li as well as Madison looked at their watches and collectively, they cried out. "AAGH! IT'S 10:04! We're gonna be in SO much trouble!" They all began their run home and Todd just laughed as he went inside with Kero.
Inside Todd's apartment, Todd walked into the kitchen. His Mom was waiting for him. "Um...did you capture that Clow...thing?"
"Sure did!" Todd smiled and showed her the Create Card. "I'll give you all the info you need tomorrow, K? I'm just so tired..." He yawned as he went into the bathroom to prepare for bed. He walked into his room with Kero following him.
"Sorry I told but your mom was gonna find out sooner or later..." Kero apologized.
"Yeah right..." Todd rolled his eyes but then smirked when he took out the create card. "All's forgiven, old chum. I've got some cool things to do with this card...heh, heh, heh..."
"Oh man, I've got a BAD feeling about this..." Kero mumbled.
* * *
Tatea was brushing her teeth and looking into the mirror in deep thought. "I wonder if Todd captured that clow card I was sensing earlier?" Tatea spit out her toothpaste and smiled at the mirror. "I wonder why I was cursed with such a pretty face?"
Her smile vanished when she noticed something odd. Her lips quivered a bit and suddenly, two long whiskers sprung out of her face. She blinked twice and cried out. "AUGH! What the heck!?" Suddenly a note appeared on the counter and she read it.
"Ha, ha! Gotcha! A simple practical joke created by the wonderful Todd Arcana! ^_~ "
"Ooh! I'll get him for this!" Tatea growled as
she painlessly pulled her whiskers off and stomped off to bed.
End of Episode 31
Card Captured
Next time on Cardcaptor Todd!
"How about we do a clow reading to see if the final fundraiser is going to be a success?" Sakura asked Todd and he nodded to her suggestion.
"Sure, I'll try to do it." Todd replied and began the chant. "Ancient cards of Clow...grant me a vision now...tell me if you may, who is standing in my way!" Todd brought his hands up and a wind entered the room. The wind was cold and lurid and it ripped through them, leaving them ghastly. "Oh man, that CAN'T be good..." Todd turned over the card signifying their next target and they both gained looks of worry and fear.
"NO!! It can't be!" Todd shouted.
"I-It's not possible!!" Sakura screamed.
Kero smiled and flew up to them, not worried. "You're over reacting...What could be so--" Kero frowned and trail and he shouted in an anguished way. "Uh oh..."
They looked down at the card and looked onto its
solemn face. "...Earthy..."
