"Yes Todd, I'll be gone for about a week to two weeks." Alicia replied. "I have to fly to Switzerland to do a case... be good."
"Win this case Mom!" Todd replied cheerily. "Bye, Mom"
"Good Bye Todd, be good. I have a new housekeeper to attend you." Alicia said as she walked out the front door.
"... Kero! You can come out now." Todd called to his bed area. Kero flew above the curtains and floated up to him.
"So your Mom left huh?" Kero asked. "She's a pretty good person."
"Yeah well, now you can see where all my wonderful qualities come from." Todd replied cheerily. "I'm a product of greatness."
"I'd better duck and cover. The way you're head is swelling up, it'll blow up any minute." Kero commented. "Well...things are boring here."
Todd got the hint, a clow card hadn't attacked in three days. Todd ran to the clow book and opened it and checked out the listings. He looked at the Erase Card and read "Erase Card, a powerful and mysterious jester spirit whom wields the ability to erase objects and people...that's cool..."
Kero then turned three pages to reveal the Sleep Card. Todd then checked out the clow card and finally read. "Sleep card, a pleasant little fairy spirit whom sprinkles dust to put various targets to sleep...interesting."
The phone started ringing in the living room and Todd jumped off his bed. Todd ran to the phone and picked it up. "Hello? Oh hey Sakura."
"Hey Todd, you'll never guess what..."
"What is it?"
"Tori is your new housekeeper!"
Todd gained a mystified look and then continued speaking. "But I thought he worked at the fry hut?"
"Old News! That was his third last job."
"What?"
Todd then heard the door ring. "Hold on, I have to get the door." Todd said as he ran up to the door. He opened it to reveal Tori looking down on him. Todd looked up and said. "Welcome, come in...Sakura was just talking about you."
Tori walked in and sat on the couch. Todd was still talking with Sakura. "Tori's here. Was that the only reason you called me?"
"No, Chelsea invited both of us to a party..."
"That's good, are you going?"
"Chelsea wants me to go with you."
Todd then rolled his eyes and blushed. "Yeah so? You want to go with me? I'd love to."
"That's great, the party starts at six tomorrow. Can I need to see you after school too, it's about the clow cards."
"Sure. Li should come over too and we'll discuss the you-know-whats, bye. *Click*"
Todd then blushed and turned to Tori. Tori took one look at Todd and said. "Got a thing for my sister, squirt ?"
"No...She asked me to a party." Todd replied, blushing.
Tori smiled. "That's how it starts."
Todd then sat down to the six hundred word essay and started thinking. "How am I going to write this abomination?" He then thought of the idea of writing I played video games and slept in until noon seventy five times. "That idea is so stupid! I should just go into what I did during summer camp...wait, that's too corny. I got it! I'll make stuff up...but then again, Ms. Mackenzie is a foxy lady...she'll probably see through my attempt. I'll just write it down like this...I woke up, I had a piece of toast, I did the dishes... no it sounds too much like a grocery list.
After about two hours of thinking of how to fake this essay, Todd decided to write down the truth, which only took about two more hours. Todd yawned and realized it was 10:32 PM. He wondered why Tori didn't tell him to get to sleep and realized that Tori was sleeping while covered with popcorn and corn chips.
"Julian, sometimes I question your taste in friends..." Todd commented. "Kero!"
Kero was also flaked out on the coffee table. He had pudding smeared across his face. He stirred and groaned. Todd walked up to him and grabbed him by his hind legs and threw him into the sleeping area. "I'll get ready for bed, you seem more then ready." He talked in Kero's direction as he brushed his teeth. Todd then walked into his bed area and collapsed in the bed. He looked out the window and saw a thing staring at him. The thing escaped before Todd got to the window. "What was that thing...clow card?"
Todd then threw open the window and stared out into the roof. "Hey, the roof is accessible! Ugh!" Todd grunted as he climbed onto the roof. He sees a thing perched on the edge of the far end of the room. "What's that?"
Todd then walked closer as he thing whirled around and stared at him. Todd then took a stance and asked. "What are you?"
The thing was Miiko, the yellow winged lizard. The lizard then said. "What does it look like? I am what you see. You need more skill if you want to succeed." The lizard flapped its wings and lifted off the ground. The creature flew off in the distance.
"What was that thing, It wasn't a clow card..." Todd asked to himself.
The next morning Todd put his essay in his school bag. Tori was in an office uniform, with black dress pants, a dress shirt and a tie. Todd then walked up to him and asked. "What's wrong? Are you bailing out on me already?"
"No, Todd. I have other jobs other then this one." Tori said. "Duh..."
"Whatever..." Todd sighed as he then started strapping on his roller blades. Todd's sailor outfit was wrinkled but Julian did the ironing. Todd wondered if Tori could iron, but then he realized that he was late so he bladed to the parking lot and took a shortcut he just realized about to school and managed to get to the school before the bell. He rushed into his locker and grabbed his junk for class. Madison ran up to Todd and asked cheerily. "Guess what? Chelsea is having a party!"
"I know, Sakura asked me to it."
Madison smiled to him and ran to Ms. Mackenzie's class. Todd stared after her and then became shocked. "Ah! I'm going to be late!"
Todd then leaped into the classroom before he was diagnosed as late. Todd ran to his desk and sat down. Sakura smiled at him and Li then said. "Chelsea is having a party, I'm going with Madison, she asked me."
"Good for you. Sakura asked me."
Li gave a jealous look to Todd. Tatea walked in and sat in the back. Ms. Mackenzie walked in and began her lesson. The subjects that morning were Math and Japanese, and English. The lessons ended and lunch began.
Sakura, Li and Todd sat down. Madison was catching up when Jeremy encountered her. Jeremy asked her "Hey Madison, you want to go to Chelsea's party with me?"
"Sorry Jeremy, but I'm going with Li."
Jeremy nearly collapsed but then regained his cheer. "It's alright, I just go with someone else."
"Really? Most people in our class have already coupled up!"
"Really?"
"Yes but I admire your courage." Madison said as she rushed off to her seat at the clow gang's table. Jeremy then sighed and marched outside.
"I'll now attempt the impossible. I'll ask Tatea." Jeremy said to himself. Jeremy breathed deeply and walked to Tatea. She was eating her usual lunch of either sushi or squid. Jeremy then said. "Nice day isn't it?"
"No."
Jeremy then calmly said. "You know there's a party tonight..."
"So what?" Jeremy breathed deeply and began to talk when Tatea interrupted. "Do you have lung problems? You seem to be breathing irregularly..."
"No...will you go to the party with me?"
"Never!"
"Oh just asking..." Jeremy replied miserably.
"Hey, aren't you the one who keeps spying on me while I'm meditating?" Tatea asked.
"It's just so fascinating..." Jeremy replied.
"I'm sit on a cushion for two hours a night. What's so fascinating about that?"
"I must be going..." Jeremy replied as he walked away, whistling with annoyance.
"...what an annoying pest."
The bell to go in sounded and every one went into the school again. The period after was social studies, they all got back a quiz. Li got a 93 on it, Sakura got 86, Madison got 68 and Todd got 82. As the bell for school sounded Todd was out the door. Todd walked home with Sakura and Li. Todd was gazing at the wood card and it reminded him of what he read about Wood. Todd then asked to everyone. "Hey guys? I was just thinking about the wood card. I read somewhere that the wood card needs the rain card to grow. I wonder why the wood card didn't need the rain to grow."
"There are a lot of questionable things that the cards have done or acted." Li replied. "The wood card was supposed to be gentle but turned out to be monstrous! I saw the section of the mall, boy you guys sure trashed the place..."
"I was nearly killed trying to capture it! I still think I'm not worthy of these things..." Todd remarked as he viewed the hand of cards. Todd picked out windy and continued. "Windy has been a great card for me. All of my captures used Windy in the battle."
They finally reached Sakura's house and went inside. Todd then brought Kero out of his backpack. Kero floated out and yawned and stretched. Kero floated in front of Sakura and said. "Hey Kid, Todd's been takin' good care of me."
"At the cost of part of my lunch every day..." Todd commented with one eye closed, other eye looking at Kero. "He's a pig times ten."
They all began talking about the clow cards. Li began a long winded lecture on the Little Card and all had a pudding. Todd then looked at his watch and said "Let's watch some TV." Todd turned on the TV and a news report came on.
The News reporter evened his papers as he sat in his desk. "In other news...tests from the Reidenton reservoir have come back unsatisfactory. The water has yielded traces of bacteria, and a boil order has been issued for the town. Next, time for sports! Starting with baseball!"
"A boil order?" Todd asked. "Well, I guess tap water is out of a question for the next few days..."
Sakura then thought to herself. She then stated. "I drank water yesterday and I'm fine...I wonder why the reservoir is polluted now...?"
Todd then stared at his watch. The watch read 5:32 PM and Todd then stated loudly. "The party is in about 20 minutes, so let's go."
They all left Sakura's house and strolled to Chelsea's house. Todd looked onto the house. The house was decorated in Christmas lights and there were balloons all over the place. The house was decorated with silver streaks and the DJ as playing some music and working the lasers. Todd gasped as they then see the food table Kero would have loved it, but couldn't come. Some people were there and were dancing and complimenting how Chelsea went all out.
"Wow! A DJ and lasers, Chelsea really knows how to make a party." Todd complimented, but noticed Madison working some sound equipment. "Madison helped her out?"
Madison fixed the short and ran up to Sakura and Todd. Madison then smiled as she grabbed Li by the arm. Li was a little startled but was okay with it.
"Sorry for not walking to the party with you, but Chelsea asked for my help decorating and making arrangements." She replied warmly. "Since you're here, let's party!"
She then lead Li away with Li looking at Sakura with a worried and scared glance. Sakura then shouted after them. "Don't worry Li, you'll do fine!"
Todd then went to the table and got himself some punch. Todd helped himself to some chips and turned to Sakura he said. "Good party huh?"
Sakura manned Madison's camera and then began fumbling with the buttons. "Now how does she use this...?is this the button...? I've seen her use a camera before, but this must be a new one...." she said as she began trying the buttons. After the tape, fast forwarded, rewinded to the very beginning, started playing music, showed battery information and beeped once very loudly, the camera started recording. She manned the camera to see Madison and Li dancing very strangely. Sakura chuckled and then stepped back as Madison began swinging Li around the room, Madison laughing all the while. Li was ready to throw up.
Todd then walked up to Sakura and asked her. "How're they doing?"
Sakura turned to Todd and started taping him. Todd then smiled a really silly smile that reminded Sakura of a chimpanzee. She laughed as she asked. "I think Madison likes Li!" They both turned to Li and Madison who were now doing more strange uncoordinated dancing.
"Yeah, I think so too!"
Todd then went to get some cheese and crackers as they talked some more. "Um...Sakura?"
"Yes?" She whipped around, eyes flashing.
"I don't suppose you want to dance with me...?"
"Sure!" Sakura replied as they ran to the dance floor. They began dancing, Todd was a terrible dancer but so was Sakura. They began laughing as Todd said. "Let's out terrible each other."
"Todd, haven't you noticed?"
"What?"
"Zachary is the DJ! I think he's having more fun then everyone else here. Look!" Sakura replied as she pointed to Zachary tossing CDs around and laughing as he was dancing to the tunes himself.
"This party is so great!" Todd said.
"Really?"
"Yeah, and that's because I'm here with you!"
Sakura blushed as they continue dancing. Madison then stopped dancing with Li and said. "Hold on, I'm going to get a glass of water."
"What? Wait!" Li called out to Madison as she went to the kitchen to get herself a glass. Li ran after her as she began pouring the glass of water and looked at it. She made a face as she noticed the water had dirt floating around in it. Li ran up to her and replied. "The water has bacteria in it! There's a boil order."
"Uh Li? I don't think that boiling water will get rid of this..." Madison replied, disgusted. "Better get Todd and Sakura to come outside with us."
They ran to Sakura and Todd who looked at the somber look on their faces. "Come outside with us, something's wrong." They ran outside and Li showed them the glass of water, filled with dirt.
"What could cause this?" Sakura asked.
"I have a slight idea, It may be a clow card that's in the reservoir..." Todd replied seriously. "I have my pocket spear, I always have premonitions that something would come along to ruin my night, so I brought it."
"Let's go to the reservoir..."
The gang ran to the park and through it, they ran to a door to the water chambers below. The door was at the far south end of the park. They tried to open the door but it was locked from the inside. They heard noises below and decided to open the door using Li's help. Li got out his Lasan Board and chanted. "Source of light with ancient spin...send forth the magic power within...Oracles of gold, wood, fire, earth, clouds, wind, rain, and electricity...force, know my plight; release the light!" The lasan board's center began to go and the center then shot a beam of light and the light shone at an angle that pointed to the door and the beam shone slightly downward. "What we have here IS a clow card, one that is inhabiting the reservoir...we must now open the door and I know how..." Li then took his sword and put it up to his face. He put a finger on the blade and chanted. "Force know my plight, release the light! Lightning!!" Li then summoned a bolt of lightning that blasted the door off its hinges.
They were about to enter the stairwell when Madison interrupted. "Wait! Todd, come here."
"I don't like the sound of this..." Within minutes, Todd walked out from behind the tree and everyone was shocked as they viewed another one of Madison's costume masterpieces. Todd was wearing a black and green skin tight wetsuit and had green fins on his feet. Todd was wearing a headband with large fish fins on each side of his head and also had a pointy tail on the fanny of his wetsuit. Todd looked at himself with Madison's mirror and commented. "Nice work Madison, I look like the monster, Kappa."
"This'll be cool for sure!" Madison replied. "The wetsuit will prepare you for swimming and the accessories make you look so cool."
"Our clow card awaits, let's go."
They all ran into the stairwell with Madison running behind them, camera ready. They all noticed a stink upon entry, the tunnel was also dark. Madison giggled as she turned on a special button on her camera which caused a tiny flashlight to shine up the tunnel. They ran onward and noticed two scientist looking fellows sprawled out on the side area. Todd slapped them awake and they rasped. "...demon.... ... ..."
Todd, Sakura, Li and Madison all ran onward to the main reservoir. The reservoir stank like old moldy musk. The waters were crystal clear but the drains were stopped up at the bottom of the pool. They then notice a hole in the wall on the far side of the reservoir. All was quiet...
Todd looked around and chanted. "Spear of Todd...power of magic...power of surrender...surrender the spear...the force ignite! Release!" The spear then lit up the whole dark area with a glow and Todd's spear became full size. Todd then looked around more and said to the others. "I definitely feel something emitting a creepy aura..."
"Congratulations, you've gained the ability to sense clow cards. You may not be so hopeless after all..." Li commented.
Todd bent over to notice the crystal clear water. "This water is quiet...a little too quiet and clean..." Todd picked up some water in his hands. "This is not the same...this is not normal water!" He began to shout as the water in his hands sloshed up in Todd's hands and leaped back into the water. The water itself began to swirl and spiral upward. The water then lunged at Todd and grabbed him. The water then plunged him into the pool and tried to keep him down. Sakaura and Li gasped as they realized that the water was trying to drown Todd. Todd struggled up from the water and shouted. "Whoa! The water is all the clow card! Hey!" Todd was being lifted up as another swirl spiraled upward. The spiral then gripped Todd and threw him down to the opposite side of the reservoir his body hitting the back wall with a thud. Todd slowly got up to behold another water spiral trying to grab him. "Jump Card!" Todd shouted as he slammed the card with his spear, white wings appeared on his feet. Todd jumped up, evading the spirals as many more formed.
"Force know my plight, release the light." Li commanded quickly. "Lightning!" Li hurled bolts of lightning at all the spirals, blasting them so they dispersed. More spirals formed as Li was blasting them, it was futile.
"Clow card! I know you're here so show yourself. I'll capture and defeat you!" Todd commanded. A huge swirl of water appeared in the center of the pool. Eventually the swirl built up to the ceiling and spouted jets of water. Todd jumped to avoid one and Sakura and Li were dodging them. Todd notice one of them hitting the wall, making a dent. Todd then shouted "Watch out! The jets of water will stab you if you get hit!"
Li then placed an elemental card on his sword guard and chanted. "Now, elemental fire" a burst of flame escaped the card, flying at the water spiral. The flame got hit by a jet but evaporated it. The flame hit the spiral which caused a lot of steam when the steam dissapated, the spiral was still swirling. The jets ended though.
"Force...know my plight...release the light! Lightning!" The lightning hit the swirl and caused it to retaliate with a blast of water, the water hit Li and sent him backward.
"Show yourself you coward!" Todd shouted.
The swirl suddenly disappeared, and the water was once again serene. Todd then gained a mystified look and Sakura ran to help Li. Li was knocked out.
The water suddenly began to swirl up and a figure was seen within. The figure looked like a woman with a fish tail. The swirl burst to reveal the Watery card. Todd then shouted to Sakura. "Is that the Watery Card?"
"Yes! You must capture it! This is a test so I can't help you!"
"Fine time to tell me NOW...!"
Watery card then looked at Todd, then she looked at Sakura. The watery card then hissed at Sakura and sent a jet of water at her. Sakura dodged the water but Watery then began laughing in an evil way. Watery raised her hands and her eyes started glowing a sapphire blue. The water level in the reservoir began rising. Todd then said. "We'd better get out of here, she's rising the water!"
Sakura and Todd began to pick up Li and they began running to the exit. Watery was still laughing as the water climbed higher. Sakura and Todd made it to the top with Li in their arms. They set Li down as Todd prepared to go back down to the bottom area again.
"Where are you going?" Sakura asked, worried.
"I have to go back to save those science guys." Todd replied as he started running to the bottom area. The water was already near the top of the corridor where they first entered. Todd dove into the water and espied the two science surveyors. He picked them both up and asked Sakura to help her. Sakura ran to the bottom of the stairs and helped Todd pick up the first guy they lugged him to the top and laid him at the tree trunk. Todd and Sakura ran to the second guy and lugged him up the stairs. The stairs were full of water now.
"Okay, watch out now, here she comes." Watery bursted out of the stairwell swirling water after her. She hissed at Todd and started hurling jets of water. Todd then threw up the Dash Card and chanted. "Make me and Sakura able to run faster and jump higher. Dash, release and dispel!" Todd impaled the card with his spear and caused a shower of greenish yellow sparkles to engulf Sakura and Todd with speed inducing magic. They began running in circles around Watery which was losing her patience. The Watery card hissed and then suddenly slapped Todd with her fish tail. He was knocked into a tree. Todd got up and positioned his spear while Sakura was distracting Watery.
"Wood Card, release and dispel!" Todd commanded as he impaled the card with his spear." The card burst into a barrage of vines and roots to reveal wood in a blossomed bud. Wood then turned to Todd, waiting for an order. "Okay Wood, attack Watery with your greenery!"
Watery noticed Wood and turned to meet her. Wood then raised her hand, summoning several vines to burst out of the ground and the vines hit Watery. Watery was knocked back and hissed at Wood, angry. Watery then raised her hands and a wave of water was summoned, the water crashed against Wood's root system causing it to get flooded and uprooted. Wood's vines disappeared and wood changed back to her card form.
"What happened?" Todd asked Sakura "Wood turned back into a card!"
"Wood was defeated, when your clow spirit is beaten, it becomes a card again." Sakura said, then screamed. "Aagh! Watch out!"
Watery summoned another wave of water which sweeps Todd and Sakura up in a current of water. The water crashes them into the penguin slide, a fair distance away from where they were.
"This is a powerful card isn't it?" Todd asked as he got up.
"Yeah!" Sakura said in an irritated sarcastic tone. "Here it comes!"
Water was streaming towards them. Todd and Sakura duck into the slide as Watery crashes into the slide, soaking it in water. Todd then ran out to an open area of the park. Todd then chanted as he drew the Windy card. "Windy, Release and dispel. Bind Watery now!" Todd threw the card up and slammed it with his spear. The card transformed into a mass of ropey yellow energy which formed into Windy. Windy then wrapped itself around Watery. Todd then ran to the site and positioned his spear. "Return to your power confined! Watery Card!!" Todd commanded as a bright flash was made. A glowing card shape appeared on Todd's spear and watery transformed into a mass of ropey blue energy. The energy filtered into the card on Todd's spear. The picture finally appeared as the water vanished from the ground. The damage was still present though.
"The Watery Card!" Todd said then jumped for joy. "I did it!"
"That was a good capture, Todd!" Madison cheered as she ran up to Todd. "You caught the watery card...and I caught YOU! On tape that is..."
Todd, Sakura and Li ran up to Li who groaned and slowly got up. "Ohhhh, what happened?"
"I caught the Watery card!" Todd said, then suddenly felt a rush to his head as he fell to his knees. "Ugh! I feel kind of woozy..."
Li helped Todd up and they all helped him to a park bench. Li then smiled and said. "What that was, was spell weariness..."
"Spell weariness...?" Todd asked sleepily.
"You used too many clow cards in a short time. How many clow cards did you use?" Li replied, hands crossed.
"I used all but Fly and I used Dash twice..." "Aha! You used four different spells, we never used that many. It's a sign of poor organization..." Li replied.
"That's enough!" Sakura snapped. "He didn't know!"
They missed the rest of the party and took Todd home. Todd then went to his apartment and entered. Todd saw Tori staring at him in his costume.
"What on earth are you dressed as?!"
Todd didn't answer and lurched to his bed area. Kero popped in and asked him quietly. "What's up? You look like a fish man and you're exhausted!"
"Nmph." Todd mumbled and collapsed on his bed. Kero then flew onto the roof and gazed at the stars. Kero then saw Miiko staring as well. Miiko then noticed Kero and Flew over to him. He then asked. "You are...Keroberos aren't you?"
Kero looked at him and flew around him. "What, who's...oh...it's you...Miiko...it's been so long, what brings you here?"
"The clow cards have been released....My master has come to seal them. Only then...will the curse lift..." He said as he flew away.
"It's nice to you again...old friend..." Kero replied.

The demon took Todd's spear and broke it in four pieces. He then telekineticly
removed
the Fly card from Todd's pocket and waved its hands, the card exploded

pieces. He then hurled Todd over the edge and Todd was falling towards
the lava.
"NOOOOOOOOO!!!" Todd screamed horribly as he woke up. He was breathing
hard as he
noticed Kero staring at him, shocked.

Todd then was going to call Sakura when he heard a knock on the door.
Todd then went to answer it and peered at the visitor. He dropped the
phone when he saw
who it was. Kero then floated after Todd and saw who it was. He was
shocked.
"How are you... son?"
Todd then looked at him strangely and peered closer. He saw the stranger's
brown eyes,
brown hair and the jacket that he wore. He looked at the stranger's
jeans and his shoes.
They were all exactly the same. "... ... Dad?"
