"You needed a wake up call! Music in the morning is not going to wake you up." Kero replied. "Think of it this way...at least you won't need pop tarts covered in sugar to wake you up."
" Don't bet on it! " Todd sang as he got to the kitchen. "Pop tarts, pop tarts lovely, lovely pop tarts!" Todd poured sugar on his pop tart and ate it up. "I'll soon go to school to do my field trip to the museum! Do you want to come?"
"Sure!" Kero replied as he happily flew into Todd's backpack. "Let's go! I want to see Sakura!"
Todd got ready for school and strapped on his in line skates. Todd burst through the doors and skated to the elevator. A guard noticed him and said. "Slow down!"
"I'm late though!" Todd replied as he entered the elevator.
"Slow down anyway!" The guard replied as he ate a doughnut.
Todd reached the bottom floor of the Kyoden manor. Todd skated onto the main road and bumped into Jeremy. Jeremy greeted him with flowers and a love note.
"Jeremy, I didn't know you cared..." Todd joked. "No, really...what are the flowers for?"
"They're for Tatea! I, I think I love her!" Jeremy breathed romantically. "She's so dark and witty...she's gorgeous. Wow."
"I thought you said she was a wierdo!" Todd commented, in confusion. "She hates you as well! That's also a strike against you!"
"I have infinate charm!" Jeremy replied knowingly. "I know how to treat a woman!"
"No you don't, this is the first crush you ever...wait! Oh great! We're late! Talk while running!" Todd quickly added and started to skate feverishly towards the school. "Come on! Get going!"
They ran like crazy and managed to get to school before the tardy bell. They were out of breath and tired. Sakura ran up to Todd and said. "Come on, we're going to be late!" They both ran into the classroom and were relieved to see that Ms. Mackenzie wasn't there. They sat down at their usual spots. Tatea ran in and took her seat at the back of the room.
"What did you do on Sunday, Sakura?" Li asked. "I was calling all day but you weren't home."
"I went to a baseball game with Todd and his Dad." Sakura replied. "Oh, is he here to stay Todd?"
"...no...he was the Illusion card." Todd replied darkly. "I was almost killed by the clow card."
"What? Rats! I missed another one!" Madison cried, irritated. "Tell me about the next one, will you?"
"Sure, but remember what Kero said: "Expect the unexpected." All CardCaptors live by this saying, right Sakura?"
"Right." Sakura replied. "But there are more unexpected things than usual lately..."
"Anyway, you have your video camera right?" Todd said. "You can tape the clow card if one shows up today."
"I always take my camera, you should have known that by now." Madison replied. "I'll get a costume ready for your next card."
"I can't wait..." Todd replied sarcastically.
"So everyone, did everyone remember your permission slips?" Li asked. "You can't go if you don't have them."
"Yeah." Everyone replied as they searched themselves and found the slip.
Tatea was listening in on their conversation. Tatea smiled and rested her head. "I wonder what today brings for me..." Tatea noticed Jeremy walking up and sitting in the desk beside her. Tatea's smile vanished instantly when she saw this.
"Tatea! I brought these flowers for you!" Jeremy offered, cheerily. "I hope you like them."
Tatea stared at the flowers for a few seconds and looked at him. "Nice flowers, what do I do? Eat them for you?"
"No, you adore them! I picked them just for you!" Jeremy replied.
"Why, they are a bunch of dead plants. I can't adore dead plants...that's like adoring a corpse. Do you want me to adore corpses? That is so disgusting." Tatea replied suspiciously. "What are you? Some sort of wierdo?"
"No...uh...um..." Jeremy studdered. "I just thought that you'd like some flowers...!"
"I don't like those kinds of flowers anyway. The plant that I like the most is poison ivy. I have it potted in front of my Apartment window, littered around the fire exit."
"So...I noticed..." Jeremy replied, scratching his arms. Jeremy then cheered up and serenaded. "I think that you are extremely beautiful today, Tatea."
"I am beautiful today huh? Is that opposed to every other day? When I'm ugly?" Tatea remarked, annoyed.
"No, it's uh...just that you get more beautiful each day!" Jeremy replied.
"I'm growing up! I'll be a woman soon and I'll be even more beautiful to you. Hey! Since Miss. Mackenzie is already a woman, I'll bet that she is a total beauty queen to you! Hey everybody! Jeremy thinks that Miss. Mackenzie is a beauty queen!"
Everyone chuckled at what they thought Jeremy said. Jeremy turned red and said. "Who cares about Miss. Mackenzie!? I like you! I think you look like a goddess now!"
"I heard that line before! What's this?" Tatea asked as she picked up a love note. "Is this a secret code?"
"No it's a..." Jeremy quickly replied as he saw Miss. Mackenzie walk into the class. Tatea quickly got out of her seat and ran to Ms. Mackenzie.
Tatea then gave Miss. Mackenzie the love letter and said. "This is from Jeremy, I think that little note might be lost homework or something or maybe a late slip..."
Miss. Mackenzie stared at the letter. The letter had many drawn hearts and stars on it. The letter was sealed with a heart sticker. Miss. Mackenzie opened the letter and read to herself. "I've placed a kiss within my palm and released it to the wind. There I hope it will someday reach your tender lips..." Miss Mackenzie went mystified and stared at Jeremy who stared back and gave a cheesy little smile. "That's...nice...Jeremy..."
Tatea then skipped back to her desk and said. "Well! I gave Miss. Mackenzie the message, you're a shoe in for her next boyfriend! Go get'em!"
"I have an announcement for everyone! We will have two new students who will be joining our class. Please welcome, Jaki and Mashou Nekura! They transferred here from Hong Kong! Just like Li Showron!"
Everyone in the class turned to Li, they wanted to ask but Li replied. "Sorry, I don't know everyone who is from China!"
They walk to the back of the classroom and sit down. Miss Mackenzie continues. "Now, we'll soon begin our trip to the Museum, I hope everyone brought their permission slips. I'll now come around to collect them!"
Jeremy patted his pockets and searched his backpack. Jeremy realized that he forgot it at home. "Uh oh..."
Ms. Mackenzie comes to Jeremy's desk and asks. "Do you have your permission slip?"
"N, no I don't..."
"Oh, I'm sorry but you can't go then. I'm sure that the principal will help you come up with something fun to do." Ms. Mackenzie replied.
"...swell..." Jeremy moaned, his world shattered.
Miss Mackenzie come up to Tatea's desk and asks. "Do you have your permission slip?"
"My folk couldn't sign it." Tatea replied.
"Why couldn't they sign it?" Ms. Mackenzie asked, showing interest. "Where is your father?"
"He's dead Miss."
"What? I'm sorry...what about your mom?"
"She's in jail, Miss. My mom is in jail for killing my dad."
"Oh how awful, do you have anyone that is your guardian?"
"Well, I live with my brother. There's another problem, you see. He's also in jail, for grand theft auto. He will come out in two days, at least that's what he said he was planning in his letter..." Tatea, commented. "When he comes out of jail he could sign the permission slip but, then again I'm old enough to be my own guardian."
"What? How old are you?"
"I'm 16 years old, Miss. This is my fourth year in the sixth grade."
"Oh my...I guess you could go on the trip." Miss Mackenzie replied.
Everyone got up and starting walking outside to where the bus is. They piled into the bus and before long, they made it to the Museum. Everyone got off the bus and looked at the unwieldy looking building and finally entered the museum.
Todd stepped inside and stared at the wonder. There was a giant mural of two fighters in a Colosseum. There were planets and stars bathed in black light up above. Todd saw some huge glass sculptures that were in the corner. Sakura pointed to the far wall. The far wall had another mural of a galleon sailing in the sea. Everyone was amazed.
"This is so cool!" Todd observed. "Finally! A Museum that's cool!"
"Oh! They must have renovated the Science Museum...or maybe the whole thing..." Sakura stated. "It looks so much better now!"
The class noticed an extremely cheerful tour guide heading their way. The guide was annoying, but friendly. She had orange curly hair and wore a black skirt and a blouse with the museum emblem on it. She had a name tag on her blouse, Shelly was her name. "Hello everyone! Welcome to the museum! Before we begin our tour, I'd be happy to entertain some questions you have before we begin."
"What sort of museum is this?" Todd asked. "I can't tell because there's a bit of everything here!"
"This is an OMNI museum. We have everything! We have art, science and history in here!"
"I have a question." Li stated. "Why was the museum renovated?"
"Very good question!" Shelly replied. "There was a fire here last year and some of the museum was destroyed. Thank goodness none of the museum trinkets were damaged...but we decided to renovate the museum as well as repair it. Look at it now! It's wonderful! Shall I begin the tour now?"
The tour began with a scavenger hunt. The class was split into two groups. Todd, Sakura, Li, Madison and Rita were one group. Tatea, Jaki, Mashou, Jeremy and Chelsea were another group. The tour began with Todd's group running ahead and Tatea's group being left behind.
"Come on! Jaki! Mashou! We have to go now!" Chelsea reminded, impatient.
Both of them looked at Tatea and laughed. The laugh made Tatea uncomfortable as she surveyed them. Jaki had brown hair and bright yellow eyes, she had an aura of mischief about her. Mashou isn't much better. He has brown hair and bright green eyes and also had a strange aura. They both laughed again and Mashou finally said. "What's to be thought about this place?"
"Don't know, brother-o..." Jaki replied, giving Mashou a look of mischief. "Hee, hee, hee..."
"Come on!" Chelsea repeated impatiently. "We'll lose the scavenger hunt if we don't catch up to Todd's group."
"Oh, well we wouldn't want to do that..." Jaki replied, smirking. "Let us go, brother-o."
"Heh, heh, heh..." Mashou laughed, once again making Tatea uncomfortable. "Right! Let's do this thing!"
"Win the scavenger hunt we'll do...and rip Todd's plans in two...let us go and not delay....we'll begin our mission today..." They both chanted in rhyme, making Tatea even more uncomfortable. They both skipped ahead.
"...must be a twin thing..." Chelsie replied as she, Zachary and Tatea ran after them.
Todd's group already found two clues to the puzzle. Todd was bored. "We found another clue, but this clue is no help. There's no need to worry though, because we've already figured it out."
"Oh don't worry, let's just find the rest of the clues before Tatea's group even starts looking." Rita replied. "I think we're winning..."
"Who cares Rita..." Li replied. "They probably figured out the clue anyway..."
Tatea's group came across a golden orb in a case. Zachary pointed that out and stated. "You know, the first scavenger hunt was done my monks in India. They would have a scavenger hunt for a golden orb, whoever found it became king of the monastery for a year. It was so popular that normal people started doing it, and this trend became a pandemic!"
"Oh, Zack..." Chelsea replied, annoyed.
"Well, since we found it, does that make us kings of the museum for a year?" Mashou asked. "Heh, heh, heh..."
"I am now and most presently hungry for absolutely wonderful food." Jaki stated. "Let's go get some food...hee, hee, hee..."
Todd's group and Tatea's group met at the museum food court. They greeted each other and sat at tables. Sakura, Todd, Li and Madison sat together.
"Good thing I brought some money..." Todd said. "I'll get some pizza and some pudding." Todd's backpack rumbled quietly as Kero's head popped out.
"Kero!" Sakura said. "You came!"
"Expect the unexpected! I however, expect some pudding!" Kero said. "How are things, everyone?"
"Boring, the scavenger hunt was too easy..." Todd grumbled. "I was also hoping to see something interesting..."
"Don't worry, you might at the presentations room." Li replied. "I heard they had a new relic to show us. The museum people are saying that it is an ancient weapon!"
Jaki and Mashou sauntered up to the group, smiling mischievously. They leaned on the table and smiled. "Hello everyone..."
"Hey, your Jaki and Mashou right?" Li asked.
"Yes. This is boring isn't it?" Jaki replied. "We're going to sneak off and explore the museum some more, do you want to come with?"
"No thanks, we're going to see the presentation." Todd replied.
"What ev... suit yourself!" Mashou stated, smirking. "Bye now...heh, heh, heh..."
The two slunk away while Todd looked in their direction. Todd shivered and commented. "Those two give me the creeps...I wonder why? They seem nice enough..."
"It's probably nothing...but I've been feeling a presence lately. It might be a clow card but I can't tell, there's something else that's fogging my senses." Li replied, suspicious. "Anyway, it's time for the presentation, let's go!"
They walked into the presentation room, which was just a room with a stage in front. Shelly walked to the center of the stage and shouted. "I hope everyone is excited! We got a new addition to the Dark age pavilion! The donor is anonymous but we thank him or her. Now, let's remove the case to reveal this sword!"
She uncovered the sword and Sakura and Li looked with terror. Shelly continued. "See? This is..." She suddenly fell down on the ground as a bright flash erupted in the room. The light vanished to reveal Shelly in a fighting stance and no light was in her eyes, she was like a zombie. "Ha, ha, ha...I'll take the sword and in my stead...swing the blade and sever your head! Please do not be afraid...this is a very sharp blade!"
She lunged at the audience and they all ran away in terror. Sakura, Li, Todd, Madison and Tatea stayed to fight. Shelly jabbed and swung at Todd but narrowly missed.
"Spear of Todd...power of magic...power of light...surrender the spear...the force ignite...release!" Todd's spear glowed and flashed as it grew to it's useable size. Shelly did not wait, she swung at Todd and Todd had to defend himself with his spear. "I need to know how to defeat this clow card!"
Kero flew up from the backpack and shouted. "Todd! This is the sword card! What you need to do is to get it away from her first!"
"How?!" Todd screamed as he parried more sword blows with his spear. "I can't defend and attack at the same time!"
"Leave it to me! Source of light with ancient spin, send forth the magic power within, force, know my plight; release the light!" Li chanted as he raised his medallion and summoned his sword. "Now...element, Wind!" Li slammed an ofuda on his sword guard, releasing a gust of wind that narrowly missed Todd and struck Shelly, sending her to the wall. She slammed into the wall and glared at Li. She got up and charged at Li but Li summoned a blast of wind that pushed her back again, releasing the sword from her grip.
"Now! Seal the Sword while its host is detached from it!" Kero commanded.
"The sword card is a parasite?" Todd asked as he positioned his spear. "Okay, Sword Card, return to your power confined! Sword Card!" Todd chanted as a glowing clow card appeared on the end of the spear. Sword broke into a mass of swirling energy filtering into the clow card. Sword's picture appeared on the glowing clow card and flew to Li. Todd was shocked.
"I can't take this clow card..." Li murmured, "It's pretty much useless, since I already have a sword. Take it, Todd."
Todd ran up to Li and snatched the card. "Thank you, Li..."
Shelly slowly got up, her head was pounding as she finally said. "What happened?"
"That was a spectacular display!" Todd complimented, lying. "You'll definitely get a promotion! That was awesome!"
"Uh...really?" Shelly replied, exhausted. "I need some coffee..." She slowly trudged off.
Tatea ran up to them and said. "What on earth are you people? I saw the whole thing."
"It was, a performance..." Todd replied. "We were in on the Sword performance."
"Okay...then explain the flying stuffed toy that talked and shouted at you." Tatea questioned, suspicious.
"It was... animatronics. This thing is a robot that hangs from strings." Todd lied.
"Whatever...it sure was stupid looking." Tatea walked off while Todd breathed a sigh of relief from behind her back. Tatea looked back and said to herself. "Careless Todd...very careless, showing your magic in front of a normal person...be more careful..."
Madison skipped up and showed Todd her camera. "I got it all on tape! Tatea saw though...do you think that you she'll tell."
"No, everyone already thinks she's a weirdo anyway..." Todd commented. "Let's go!"
The clow gang left the presentation room to be greeted by laughing and cheering. Rita ran up to Todd and laughed "Hee, hee, hee! You were in on the performance? That's so cool! Anyway, the next part is to just explore the museum. Be back in an hour, that's when we leave!"
They started to explore the Museum and Todd asked. "Well, where should we go?"
"How about to the Dark Ages pavilion! I love knights and stuff." Sakura replied.
"I also want to go to the Chinese pavilion." Li said. "I heard they got a new set of ceremonial robes."
They went to the Dark Ages pavilion. Sakura gazed at the suits of armor, all rococo in design. She looked at the swords hanging on the walls. They beheld a treasure chest in a display case in the center of the room. They were surprised at how much stuff were there. Todd and Sakura gasped when two of the armor suits moved. They pulled up their visors, revealing Jaki and Mashou. "Hee, hee, hee! Hey Madison! Get a shot!"
"What in blazes are you doing?" Li asked, annoyed. "If the guards find you, you're in trouble!"
"Oh don't be such a killjoy!" Jaki replied. "Madison, come on!"
"Sure thing!" Madison replied as she took a snapshot. She took the Polaroid out and gave it to them.
They left out of the armor suits with a surprising grace and Mashou finally said. "Thanks, See ya! Heh, heh, heh..." They both ran off. The gang returned to their exploring.
"This really is cool..." Todd complimented. "Where are the shields."
Li rushed to another wall and pointed at the shields hanging on the wall. Todd, Sakura and Madison followed his gaze to a shining wall of shields. Todd looked at one particular shield that was hanging in the center. Todd stared at it and suddenly felt a wind of realization.
"Oh no..." Todd said. "Everyone, get ready. This is the shield card!"
The shield card flew off the hook and smashed through the display case. They stared at it as it flew up into the air. The shield floated there for a minute and suddenly dove down. Shield smashed through the display case in the center and flew into the treasure chest. The chest locked.
"Spear of Todd...power of magic...power of light...surrender the spear...the force ignite! Release!" Todd's spear exploded into a shower of white sparkles and bathed Todd in a ray of light. Todd's spear was full size when the light vanished. Todd then charged at the chest with his spear ahead, in an attempt to open the shielded chest. A bright light shone as Shield emitted a shield barrier. Todd hit the shield and he was sent back to the ground.
"Ouch, okay...how shall we deal with this..." Todd asked. "Any ideas?"
"Well I can't use my ofudas because they aren't powerful enough. You could use clow cards but they might not be strong enough either."
Shield opened its treasure chest and shot balls of darkness up out of the chest. The balls exploded around everyone and destroyed many displays.
"I guess that this card hates history huh?" Todd joked. "I've got an idea, I'll use Windy and Watery to attack this clow card. I'm sure that, combined, they could defeat Shield." Todd threw up both Windy and Watery cards and chanted. "Windy, Watery release and dispel! Attack together!"
Windy and Watery both were summoned and awaited orders. Todd got them both to come to him and did some whispering. They flew over to their positions and Todd started to chant as he raised his spear to the sky. "Winds of Water, send forth a current, ice in the air, release to the sky! Atmosphere!!"
Windy and Watery lifted their arms and suddenly a paneled globe encased the chest. The globe's panes started glowing randomly and inside the globe, swarmed light blue streaks of glowing energy. The globe then exploded, sending light and coldness out in the air. The amount of power was so immense that it shattered both Shield's barrier and the chest it was hiding in. Shield was now helpless.
"Without something to hide in, shield is helpless too...This one is a parasite too!" Todd said. "Shield card, return to your power confined! Shield Card!" Todd's spear gained a glowing clow card at the end of its point. Shield broke into a swirling mass of energy and filtered into Todd's clow card, Shield's picture formed on it. Todd took shield card and said. "This is great, two clow cards in one day!"
Madison ran up to Todd, saying. "Good work Todd! I caught it all on tape! That atmosphere spell was a nice touch."
"Yeah, too bad Kero missed it, because he's asleep!" Todd replied as he looked into his backpack, annoyed. "Oh well."
Li looked at his watch and saw the time, it was 2:52 p.m. "Hey everyone, we'd better get back to the main area, it's time to go."
They all ran for the main area as they were going Jaki and Mashou spied on them. They turned to each other and laughed mischievously. "So, that's it!" Jaki said.
"These guys are the Card Captors! Well, we have rivals now." Mashou stated. "Our master will not be awakened unless we capture all of the clow cards! Heh, heh, heh..."
"I know, Sennae...but we'll have to keep our disguises in order to seem more friendly." Jaki said.
"We'll have to do this to keep us from blowing our cover, Sennyo!" Mashou said.
"Todd and his friends should prepare for trouble! He must watch himself or we'll make it double!" They both say in unison. "Heh, heh, heh..."
"Hey guys! The bus is leaving." Chelsea shouted to them. "Get moving!"
"Right...we wouldn't want to miss our bus now would we?" Jacki and Mashou replied in unison.
Todd's bus made it home only to have the class dismissed. Todd walked home with Jeremy. Todd then asked Jeremy. "So what did you do with the principal?"
"Well...he first scolded me for forgetting my permission slip, then we watched T.V. all day. You wouldn't believe how cool his television was! It had surround sound and a fridge installed underneath. It was cool!" Jeremy replied cheerily. "Was the museum fun?"
"Well, not as fun as I thought, but we did do some neat things..."Todd replied while looking at his sword and shield card. "I've had a full day..."
Todd and Jeremy reached the turnoff point and Todd said as he went his way. "See you tomorrow!"
"You too, Todd!" Jeremy replied. "Be sure to have a rain coat though!"
Todd looked up and noticed that the sky was overcast. Todd looked back at Jeremy. "I guess I will." Todd reached the Kyoden building and got to his apartment building.
Tori greeted him. "Hey squirt. What happened to you today?"
"Same old stuff, the museum was no big deal." Todd replied as he started searching his back pack. "I have homework and I'll just do that now."
"Does it have to do with that big heavy book that I saw on your bed?" Tori asked suspiciously. "What is that thing? I looks like a magic book."
"It's a library book..." Todd lied, annoyed. "Well, see you later."
Tori left the apartment to do a job interview and Todd began his homework...after playing Monster Battle 2000x for two hours. The homework was a pain. The homework was about a 300 word rough essay on the historical significance of toilet paper. Todd finally finished all his homework and was hungry. Todd looked at the time to reveal 9:11, Todd was shocked to see that it was so long since Tori left.
Tori finally came home and was soaking wet. Todd stared and him and asked. "What on earth happened to you? You're soaked!"
"What? You don't know? Just look outside." Tori replied, irritated.
Todd did just that and was shocked. It was pouring rain outside and there was a bit of thunder. Todd gulped and looked back at him. "Why is this happening...?"
Tori smiled looked at him and showed him some pizza. "It doesn't really matter, we'll just eat our pizza and go to bed early."
"Yum! I never turn down pizza!" Todd replied as he dug in. The pizza was great, but the storm was getting louder. Todd yawned and said. "I'm going to bed, night!"
Todd went to bed and Kero flew up to him and said. "Good night kiddo..." Kero curled up onto Todd's bed and drifted into sleep. The thunder was now very loud. Todd looks up and suddenly lightning cracks and flashes across the sky, thunder is heard after. Todd pulls the bed comforter over his head and says to himself. "Good night he says...good grief..."
They all left the theater. The ticket master then confronts them all
and says. "We
are deeply sorry for letting you look at this movie. Please accept
a double refund
from all of us. Have a nice day, also beware everyone. There has been
an alert for
a flood watch. Everyone should get their belongings and move to higher
ground."
* * *
Rain peeked up from the clouds and giggled. Todd and Li stared at it
and it stared
back and finally it glared at them. She molded her cloud into a gun
shape. Todd and
Li looked at each other in a panicked look and gulped nervously. "T,
that gun
doesn't scare us! I'm gonna capture you!"
