Teutonic Rushes for the Noviceby Elite Knight This is a Dark Age deathmatch strategy. The Teutons are not used very much in Deathmatch and are alot more effective in Random Map because it is an infantry civ with cheeper farms that can get you more food for less wood. Teutons have decent cavalry and great infantry, perhaps the best in the game, as well as perhaps the best unit in the game, the Teutonic Knight. But this article concentrates on rushes. First, have one villager build a house, one a barracks, and the last a mill by forage bushes while a few villagers are creating in the Town Center. Build mining camps next to gold and stone mines, lumber camps next to large forests, and farms around the Town Center. Once you got your food supply going make militias and villagers. Then when you have about 17-20 villagers advance to the feudal age. Have your villagers build at least 10 houses and a third barracks. Once you have advanced to the Feudal Age, upgrade the militias to Man-at-Arms on one Barracks and make more militias in the other two. When you have about 40 Man-at-Arms, stop making them, and make villagers instead and have them gather resources. Have one villager build a stable. When you have at least 40 villagers, advance to the Castle Age. If the enemy rushes you make defend your town with the 40 Man-at-Arms and another 5-7 Spearmen. Notice what he attacks with(for example, if he attacks with knights make pikemen). You need to make units that are strong against his main unit. When you get to the Castle Age, make more villagers to get more resources, wall your city and build castles and towers. Then build a blacksmith and upgrade everything then build a siege workshop and a archery range and a few other buildings if you want. Then make a few Magonels and Battering Rams and when you have about 45-52 villagers, advance to the Imperial Age. When in the Imperial Age you must make as about 64 Paladins and 35 Hand Cannoneers as soon as you have resources. Your opponent is likely to rush with everything he's got. If he has Halberdiers, make about 35 Elite Teutonic Knights and 10 Champions and go attack them. Then have the castles make about 4 Trebuchets go attack the enemy's city walls. Have the Paladins around the Trebuchets protecting them. When the walls are down send in all the Paladins and have the Infantry stay to protect your town just in case. Then have the Hand Cannoneers go in. Send in some villagers and build a castle next to the enemy Town Center(castle drop) as soon as the Paladins kill all the enemy soldiers. This should win the game. I use this strategy against Newbies/Bad Rooks(I'm a Good Rook) and against Hard and sometimes Hardest Computer Players. |
