Analysis: This is one of my least favorite civilizations in the game. The Aztecs lack cavalry and gunpowder, but they have fierce infantry. I do not recommend using them in a random map game.
Britons
Unique Unit: Longbowman
Unique Tech: Yeomen
Team Bonus: Archery Range 20% faster
Town Centers cost -50% wood in Castle Age, Imperial Age, and
foot archers +1 range Castle Age, +1 Imperial Age (for +2 total) shepherds work 25% faster
Analysis: The Britons are a very good civilization. Their Elite Longbowman and Cavalier combo are a great way to conquer the enemy. This is the fourth best Random Map civilization in the game.
Byzantines
Unique Unit: Cataphract

Team Bonus: Monks +50% healing speed,
Buildings +10% hps Dark Age, +20% Feudal Age, +30% Castle Age, +40% Imperial Age,
Camels, Skirmishers, Pikeman, Halberdiers cost -25%,

Analysis: The Byzantines have one of the best tech trees in the game. They are the third best Random Map civilization in the game. I recommend using this civilizations.
Celts
Unique Unit: Woad Raider
Unique Tech: Furor Celtica
Team Bonus: Siege weapons fire 20% faster, infantry move 50% faster,
lumberjacks work 15% faster,
seige weapons fire 20% faster,
sheep not converted if on 1 Celt unit's LOS
Analysis: This civilization is a decent one, and it is mainly an infantry civilization. I don't really use this civilization in a random map game, and I only recommend using this civ if you are good with infantry.
Chinese
Unique Unit: Cho Ko Nu
Unique Tech: Rocketry
Team Bonus: Farms produce +45 food, Start +3 Villagers but -150 food, -50 wood, Technologies cost -10% Feudal Age, -15% Castle Age, -20% Imperial Age, Town Center suports 10 population, Demolition Ships +50% HPs
Analysis: The Chinese are a good archer and technology civ. I recommend using them in a random map game only if you are best with archers and techs.
Franks
Unique Unit: Throwing Axeman
Unique Tech: Bearded Axe
Team Bonus: Knights +2 LOS, Castles cost -25%, Knights +20% HPs, Farm upgrades free (require Mill)
Analysis: The Franks are one of the best Deathmatch civilization, because of their strong Knights, Cavaliers, and Paladins. For Random Map, however, you may not even get far enough to use their strong Paladins, so they are mediocre for Random Map.
Goths
Unique Unit: Huskarl
Unique Tech: Anarchy, Perfusion
Team Bonus: Barracks 20% faster, Infantry cost -10% Feudal Age, -15% Castle Age, -25% Imperial Age, Infantry +1 attack vs. buildings, Villagers +5 attack vs. wild boar; Hunters carry +15 meat, +10 population Imperial Age
Analysis: The Goths' quick infantry rush in Deathmatch games is one of the deadliest weapons in the game. On Random Map, however, they are just mediocre, since they can't even build walls.
