Destiny's Kiss Chapter ~ Four

Destiny's Kiss

Chapter 3- A New Life

**********

Konnichi'wa! Welcome to the 3rd chapter of Destiny's Kiss. I, Katy-chan, am writing this part. As of the last chapter, there has been more action and I plan on continuing it. I have an excellent idea, but unless I write a *really* long chapter, it won't be in this part. Gomen. It will be in a later part, look for it! Corty-chan, arigato for what you wrote last time. I still don't think I'm as good an author as you, but hey, it's the thought that counts! Anyway, minna, read and enjoy!

Disclaimer: As I said before, sueing me hurts. Don't risk the pain. Don't steal Angel. She's mine, I'm lending her to Corty-chan. Don't steal Tsuyoshi. He's Corty-chan's. She's lending him to me for this story.

Dinner went well. Bunny and Darien, 'by coincidence', ended up sitting next to each other; Angel somehow suspected that her mother had something to do with that. The King and Queen were thrilled with Bunny, and kept nudging each other and looking from Darien to Bunny and then back to Darien again.

Finally, Angel got fed up with this routine. Throwing down her napkin and rising out of her chair, she announced: "I'm going riding."

Bunny looked up at her curiously. "May I go with you?" she asked, hopefully.

Queen Aroura began, "I don't know if she should; she still hasn't recovered fully.."

"Now, honey, the lady is entitled to some entertainment, and if riding is what she desires, by all means, show her the stables, Angel." King Apollo cut his wife off effectivly.

Angel nodded, grabbed Bunny's hand, and literally draged her out of the room.

After having changed into something more durable for riding, namely leather breaches and a satin blouse, the girls met at the stables to view their choices of mount. Angel walked straight to a bay chestnut by the name of Oricle and began stroking his mane.

"Go ahead and pick which ever horse you like," she told Bunny.

Glancing around the huge stables, Bunny caught sight of a beautiful midnight stallion. Aproching him slowly, she reached his stall and spoke a few soft words of comfort, and fed him an apple.

"That's Lightning."

Bunny jumped at Angel's voice. Turning, she saw that Angel had already stradled her mare, bareback.

"He's wild. Endy got him at a horse race, but couldn't tame him. Nobody has ever been able to-"

Bunny lightly swung herself up onto Lightning's back.

"-mount him," Angel stared. "How'd you do that?" she asked in an awed voice.

"Nani?" Bunny questioned, confused.

"Mount him like that. Bareback, too."

Bunny frowned, "I just mounted him, that's all. It came to me almost naturally."

"Hmm...Well, come on, let's go!" laughing, Angel turned Oricle around and galloped out the door, with Bunny and Lighting hot on her heels. Within seconds, the four youngsters were neck-to-neck, matching each other's speed.

Bunny giggled, "Race you!" she cried, and pulled ahead easiliy, as though she weren't riding at a break-neck speed.

Angel gasped, 'She was holding back the whole time!' she thought. 'Well she won't beat me in this race!' With that in mind, the Royal Princess Amelodera of Earth pushed her mare as fast as she could go, hair flying unbound behind her, and let out a barbaric whoop of joy. All in all, any innocent bystander could easily have mistaken her for a commoner's child, had it not been for the majestic steed she rode, of a breed that only royalty and wealthy nobles could afford.

Bunny wasn't looking much better. Riding faster than any profensional horse racer had it's toll. Her golden hair was also flapping in the wind, and she was breathless with excitment. Bareback was not the easiest was to ride a galloping pure-bred racehorse that had been groomed till sand would no longer stick to it's coat. Bunny was having a difficult time holding on, and clung Lightning's mane for dear life, yet at the same time enjoying every minute of the thrill and feeling as if this were somehow farmiliar.

{A vision flashed through Bunny's mind. Racing... a tall woman with cropped blond hair... in a strange sailor outfit... horses..flying... running like the wind... the wind...sky...

'Amara!' a voice in her mind yelled. Bunny tried to grasp at the memory, but the phenomenon slipped away too quickly, fleeting with the wind.}

"Bunny! Careful, look out!" Angel screamed from behind her, but her voice was lost in the wind.

The memory had left Bunny shaking and weak. Her strong grip was failing and she was slipping off Lightning's back at a dangerous rate. She thought she heard Angel whisper something behind her, but she couldn't make out the words. Any coherent thoughts were wiped out of her mind by the force of her body making hard contact with the ground. Angel was by her side in an instant.

"Oh Kami! Bunny! Bunny, are you all right? Oh, mother was right, this was a bad idea!"

"Uhn.." Bunny forced herself up into a sitting position and rubbed her head gingerly. "That hurt," she moaned.

"I'll bet," muttered Angel sarcastically.

Bunny glared at her. "I'd like to see you take a fall like that," she growled angrily.

Angel held her hands in front of her face as a guesture of defense, "Hey, hey, I was just joking! Calm down!"

Bunny smiled, "In that case... you can get Lighning and meet me back at the stables in five minutes, and we can race again! See you there!" Bunny took off in the direction of the stables as Angel sighed.

"How can she be so manipulative?" she wondered aloud.
