Destiny's Kiss

Chapter 5

By Corty-chan and Insanity's Namesake

*******

Hey, minna! Katy-chan here! You may have noticed that none of my chapters really have anything about what's going on on the moon in them. That's because I really have no clue what to put, and Corty-chan seems to have a clear idea, so I'm leaving that part up to her until I can actually come up with something creative. :P She's doing a pretty good job, ne? I apoligize for making you wait for the last chapter; my dad wanted me to spend 'quality time' with the family, which consisted mainly of babysitting my little sister. So much for that idea. >_<

Disclaimer: Hey, newsflash! I don't own SM! What an amazing concept!

"ANGEL!" Bunny's wail resounded around the chamber. "When are we leaving? I want to see the village already!"

"Hold on!" Angel's voice floated through the bathroom door, "I just have to finish putting up my hair!"

Lady Bunny tapped her foot impationtly, "You've been in there for an hour! Why do you need to spend do much time on your hair? We're just going to the village, not the royal ball!"

Angel stepped out of the dressing room, her golden hair in a mass of braids that coiled into an uncompleted bun. "'As the princess of Earth, I must be sure to make a good impression on my people'," she recited.

Bunny rolled her eyes, "Not that again! Come on, we're going to be late! Everyone is waiting for us!" She grabed Angel's arm and pulled her out of the room.

somewhere along the pathway to the village

"Hey, guys, wait up!" Bunny yelled as she ran to catch up with 'Endy & Co.', dragging a ruffled and dazed Princess of Earth behind her. The group of men stopped at her voice and turned.

"Where were you two? We were about to leave without you!" asked Nephlite.

"You DID leave without us," muttered Bunny, before Angel gave her a dirty look. "Miss Angel here had to perfect her hair," she said in a louder tone.

Jadeite rolled his eyes, and Darien groaned, while Malachite raised a simple eyebrow in the princess's direction.

"What?" she asked indignantly.

"Forget it," sighed Nephlite, "Let's go." He turned and draged Darien down the path, as Malachite grabbed Jadeite and Bunny once more pulled a flustered Angel with her. Zoycite, for lack of someone to grab, trotted along behind the group obediently. It wasn't long before they reached the cliff above village. Bunny gasped in awe.

"This is the village? More like a city!" she whispered as she gazed at the huge lake of buildings before her. She could have sat and stared forever, until Angel pulled the sleeve of her dress. "Come on. We haven't even started shopping and you're already drooling," she laughed as she helped Bunny down the steep ravine walls. A practiced climber, she knew all the footholes and stable ledges. So she was shocked when Bunny scrabled down the cliff face like a mountain goat, never slipping or mis-steping once. And she hadn't even dirtied or torn her dress! If Angel didn't know better, she'd say Bunny had been doing this all her life.

When Angel finally reached the bottom, she found Bunny waiting 'patiently' for her with the boys. "Come ON, slowpoke! We still have to see the city!" She darted in the unguarded entrance without a second thought, and the rest followed suit. They found themselves on what seemed to be a main street, lined with shops and bustling with people making their daily purchases.

Bunny had thought that the townspeople would be suprised and honored to see their prince and princess mingling with the likes of themselves. Contrary to her prior belief, most folk didn't give their little group a second glance, however recongnizable they might have been. It seemed the princess and her clan had made themselves citizens of the lower world long ago. And, of course, who would pay attention to a new face, even if it was with royal compainions. Besides, Bunny had made a point to dress rather plainly. She was going to have fun, and that meant no unwanted attention. In any way, shape, or form.

Darien was not a happy camper. He angrily watched all the common folk men gaze at Lady Bunny, and she, in her beautiful innocence, did not even notice. She was oblivious to the radiance she produced; even in simple wear, she still shone with a aroura of something he couldn't even begin to explain. She was in caught in the illness that grasped all girls at one time or another; it had Angel in it's clutches as well. It was called 'shopping'. What women saw in this silly sport, he could not comprehend. He watched as the more rightfully named 'angel' (at least in his stubborn mind) flitted from one window to the next with his sister, squealing and giggling and choosing what she liked best, or what, perhaps, did not suit her taste. He shook his head. He would never understand women: perhaps it was all for the better.

Angel was having the time of her life. Sure, she had been shopping here many times before, but never once had had the opportunity with a girl of her age. Any time one of the prim dutchess' daughters or countess' daughters had come to the castle, they had turned up their noses at the first mention of any outdoor activity, let alone one which involved 'scum folk'. Bunny, however, was having a ball, and had almost the exact tastes that she did. They chose matching dresses in different colors, shoes in unique styles, jewelry in interesting patterns. Angel hoped that Lady Bunny might never recover her memories, for then she would have to leave, and Angel would suffer loneliness once again. Oh, sure, the boys were great fun, and always took her seriously, for they knew she was an equal to them, though a lady she was. But she still yearned for female company of her own age, someone she could shop with, talk about men with, and just plain be herself. Bunny was most definatly that person.

Bunny was thrilled. As far as she could remember (which wasn't much, in her current state of mind), she had never seen so many stores in her life. It was a shoppers' paridise! She found a dress here, a trinket there, a purse in that store back there. 'Mina would have LOVED this!' said something from the back of her mind. She tried once more to grasp at the faint memory, and once again it slipped away like a whisper on the wind. 'Ug! These memories are like butter!' she thought. 'They never stay where you want them to!' Knowing that the memory would not return until she least expected it, Bunny decided to ignore the slight disruption and continue shopping her heart out.

She was at the peak of her enjoyment when a small pink kitten ran across her path and disappeared into a nearby side ally. Bunny gave a small shriek of delight and chased after it. Angel followed in amusement, not noticing the unattentiveness of her brother and his generals. When they scanned the crowd for the two young women next, they were nowhere to be found.

in the alleyway

The alley was dark and Bunny's eyes had yet to adjust to the dimness after wandering in the bright sunlight all day. Angel was having even more difficulty seeing. This may have been because of the blindfold obsuring her vision.

END! hehehe, I'm so evil! MUHAHAHAHAHAHA*coughcough* um, well, anyway, minna, Corty-chan will be writing the next part. Hmmmm, I wonder what happens. Why the hell is Angel blindfolded? I wonder... *stares off into space blindly* Anyway, flame or praise me at sailor.serenity@verizon.net (I pray for the later, but somehow I don't expect it) or Corty-chan at Moonie_Girl_Corty_Chan@hotmail.com
