Sailor Moon is the leader and princess of the sailor senshi. Her powers are based on things related to the Moon...(from "MOON Tiara Action" to "Starlight HoneyMOON Therapy Kiss"). Sailor Moon is the clumsiest of the sailor senshi, and at first even the most cowardly. However under extreme danger, no other could match Sailor Moon in courage, as she would give her life to save her friends. Sailor Moon has a very trusting nature and believes that all sailor senshi can become friends and fight together and nobody should be sacrificed for something else. Her strong sense of morality--although a contradiction to Sailor Neptune and Uranus's--is admired and respected even by them.
As Usagi Tsukino, she would be the last person you would expect to be the champion of love and justice. Usagi has a lazy attitude toward school and constantly complains about how hard and difficult everything is. Famed for her klutz attacks and carefree nature--Usagi is still the most compassionate character in the series. Her clashes with Rei Hino (Sailor Mars) outwardly seems like WWIII is in progress, but beneath, Rei and Usagi are perhaps the closest of friends, and are at each others side in a moment when one or the other needs consolation or encouragement. Mamoru Chiba (Tuxedo Kamen) is yet another important aspect of Usagi's life. Lovers in their previous life, Usagi and Mamoru find each other (and recognize each other as Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion) near the end of the 1st season.The two are torn apart again and again..by death, and erased memories to kidnappings, brainwashings, and more lost memories. They are finally able to be together (at least it seems this way) at the end of Sailor Stars when Usagi says "Finally, its all over". The quote could be taken as the end of the couple being constantly separated...or that finally, the sailor senshi could let their guard down and return to normality--at least a little.
