To ensure that the Yagyu-Shinkage school reigned supreme in the land as the shogun's favored school, lord Tagima Yagyu had seen to it that all of the other school's were politcally eliminated one by one. His son, Yagyu Jubei, however, had become a swordsman, against the wishes of lord Tajima. He became the greatest swordsman in Japan, the only thing he could not defeat was death.

Jiyuu Nanohana is a typical school girl, until one day she meets a 300 year old samurai named Koinosuke, claiming she is the legendary heir to Yaguu Jubei, the greatest swordsman in Japan. She has no idea what he is talking about. Koinosuke asks her to put on the lovely eyepatch just once, and when she does, he sees Yagyu Jubei in her, and knows she is the one. But she still doesn't get it and just gives the eyepatch back to him.

But when an assassin from the rival clan challenges Jubei, she has no choice but to do what Koinosuke says. She puts on the eyepatch to protect herself and is instantly transformed into a ninja, gaining the skills of Yagyu Jubei. With no trouble at all, she defeats him. The rival clan continually sends assassins to challenge Jubei so they can settle the 300 year old grudge and show that their clan is the greatest. But what secrets lie behind the lovely eyepatch? And what will the Ryojoji clan do once they defeat Jubei chan??

Jiyu Nanohana		She is the heir of the legendary Yagyu Jubei. When putting on the eyepatch, she gains the skill of Yagyu Jubei. She tries to keep the fact that she can transform into Yagyu Jubei a secret and have her friends treat her like a normal girl. She has a good heart and tries hard.
Jubei chan	The reincarnation of Yagyu Jubei, she becomes the greatest swordsman in Japan, upon wearing the lovely eyepatch.
Koinosuke Adago	He is the desciple of Yagyu Jubei. When Yagyu Jubei died, he promised to find the heir. He searched for 300 years to find the heir to Yagyu Jubei. He doesn't really know much about modern technology because he is over 300 years old.
Yagyu Jubei	He was the greatest swordsman in Japan. The only thing he could not defeat was death. So before he died, he passed on the lovely eyepatch to his disciple, Koinosuke, to give to the heir, so the skills of Yagyu Jubei would not be lost.
Shiro Ryujoji	Jiyu meets him on the first day she goes to school. He likes Jiyuu Nanohana and would do anything to protect her. He is the captain of the kendo club and has won the regional championships three years in a row. But he's not one to brag or anything.
Bantaro Sanbonmatsu	He is not very bright and is the leader of the group called the "Ruffians." He acts tough around his followers, and when he doesn't know the answer to a question, he makes up something that sounds good. He also likes Jiyu Nanohana and would do anything to help her. He prefers that his followers call him boss.
Ozaru and Kozaru	They always call Bontaru chief or skipper and talk behind his back. They talk about his leadership and his numerous attempts to win Jiyu's affection. They are loyal friends to Jiyu though and protect her secret.
