Jubei Chan: The Ninja Girl Content
When I first bought Jubei chan I didn't know what to expect. I had seen a trailer for it on another Bandai DVD and it looked somewhat interesting so I picked it up. I was in for a wild ride. If you're looking for a serious samurai anime, look elsewhere. It has very little blood, but the fight scenes were amazing. Jubei chan mixes comedy with serious sword fighting action. This may sound wierd, but it fits together suprisingly well. Jubei chan is serious when it needs to be, but a lot of it is comedy. There were quite a few good plot twists as well. The last three episodes were really intense and had a lot of well put togethor fight scenes. I was really pleased with the ending as it wrapped everything up nicely and left a smile on my face. ^-^
[9.4]Animation
Jubei chan's animation is quite good considering it's a TV series. The fight scenes obviously recieved the most attention, they are very smooth and fluid looking. Everything else looked good too, and nothing stood out as being poorly animated.
[9.5]Music
The music in Jubei chan fits very well. The music is fast pased during the fight scenes, making it more intense. The background music was pretty nice too. Can't forget the ending song either, "Sweet dreams and memories! Forever! Forever!....", I love that song. ^-^
[9.0]Extras
The first disc comes with a slideshow of images called "cooking with Jubei" which shows you how to make eggs. The second disc comes with images with "Bontaru's dating tips" which shows you what to do and what not to do during a date, which is pretty funny. The third disc comes with images that show you how to dress like a fake ninja and like a real ninja. The last disc comes with a creditless ending which was the best extra I thought. [7.0]Comments
I enjoyed Jubei chan a lot, it had unique characters, nice music, and a decent story to make it well worth the money. Jubei chan probably isn't for everyone, but I think those who take the time to watch it will be happy they did. Highly recommended.
