Yamamoto Yohko: Starship Girl Content
Let me begin with saying that the plot in Yamamoto Yohko is almost paper thin. Now that that is over, let me continue by saying Yamamoto Yohko is a very entertaining OVA.This DVD comes with both OVA's that were created. The plot is set 1000 years in the future. Wars are fought by short space battles, with about four pilots per side. No one dies, because if their craft is destroyed, they just get teleported out to safety. This way, wars are more civilized. Whoever wins gets what they were fighter over. Yet, the team just can't seem to beat their enemies, so they need someone who can help them.... Who else than Yamamoto Yohko! She spends her evenings in the arcades playing video games. Even when she goes into the future she brings a handheld. How cool is that? She is a master at every game she plays and is no different on the battle field. It has a cool cast of characters, combined with awesome character designs. The spaceship battles are pretty sweet as well. Not every space battle has to do with the war however. One of them has the team leaders going at it in their spaceships playing a game for competition. Sometimes they compete in other ways just to see who is better (like a game of pong), which is pretty fun. The only let down is the last episode. It really isn't that bad, I just thought they would have a longer fight scene. But the other battles easily make up for this. Again, this was a really fun OVA, and if you want a good deal for your money, this is definetely it. [9.1] Animation
As I said before, it has some great character designs. The animation is what you would expect from an OVA. I have seen better, but this looks good. The spaceship design is really awesome. And the battles are animated quite well, especially the one on episode 4, which I thought was the best.
[8.5]Music
Wow. I absolutely love the music in this show! The ending song for the first OVA, "Shake It," is such an awesome song. I have listened to it so many times, it's great. All the other songs (the opening, second and third ending) and background music are really great too. The music is incredible.

Dub outakes. [3.0]Comments
Yamamoto Yohko is quite a bit better than I expected. It doesn't have an amazing story, but it is a very entertaining show to watch. You also get both OVA's on one disc (6 episodes).
