| Cell and Lara returned to her house to find it completely dark. “That’s strange,” Lara said as Cell placed her on the ground. “Why are all the lights off?” “Maybe that lady went to sleep too,” Cell suggested. Then he sensed something. “Lara,” he said quietly. “Someone else is here.” “What do you mean?” “There are more than two people here. Stay behind me.” Cell opened the door and Lara flicked on the light. Sitting at the kitchen table was a man with a black head covering over his face. He seemed surprised to see Cell walk in. “Who are you?” The man stood up. “Never mind. I don’t know who you’re trying to fool, but don’t try anything stupid. If you try to kill me, then one of my friends here will do some harm to these people.” Another man with his face covered walked out from the living room dragging Mrs. Thomson. She looked scared, though only her eyes were visible because a piece of cloth covered her mouth. The man held up a knife to her neck. “Now, if you want her to live then hand over anything else of value,” said the first man. Lara was scared. “Cell,” she whispered, “Seru…” “You must mean the boy,” said the man. “Don’t worry, he’s been taken care of as well. Another man came out holding an unconscious Seru over his shoulder. “Seru!” Lara yelled. “What did you do to him?!” Cell’s anger rose, but he remembered what the Grand Kai had told him: You can’t kill anybody is number one, and number two you can’t try to scare people…Cell’s first reaction would’ve been to kill all these men. He knew he could’ve too without hurting Seru or Mrs. Thomson, but he didn’t want to be taken back to the Other World. He didn’t know what he should do. Should I sacrifice my time here and kill these men, or sacrifice my son…The sacrificing his son part made up his mind. “Put them down,” he said fiercely. The men laughed. “What do you think we are, stupid? You can’t fool us with that Cell costume. We all know Cell was killed five years ago. Hand over any other money you have and we’ll leave.” “Other money,” Lara said to herself. “Yeah,” replied the leader. “We already searched the whole house. Found some interesting items. Like this picture, it should sell for quite a bit to some museum.” He picked up the framed drawing of Cell Lara had drawn. “My picture! Leave my house now! Let my son go!” The men laughed. Cell couldn’t take it any longer. His original nature started to return to him. He started walking towards the man holding Seru. The guy pulled out a gun and started firing at Cell. The bullets bounced off his chest. The guy was scared stiff. Seru started to wake up. “Mommy…” he said. The man holding him repositioned him and held the gun to his head. “I’ll kill him! Don’t come near me!” Cell ignored the threat. He reached out and the next thing the man knew, Cell was standing in front of him holding Seru in his arms. The guy backed up into the wall. The man holding Mrs. Thomson pushed her aside and leapt towards Cell with the knife. Cell, not turning around, grabbed the man’s hand and threw him across the room. Cell turned to the leader of the trio. He gave his evil type grin. “Your turn,” he said. The man quickly ran out the door. Cell blasted the ground underneath him, which sent him flying in the air. Cell handed Seru over to Lara, and using his mind lifted the other two crooks in the air. He brought them outside and sent them flying to meet their partner. When Cell came back into the house, Lara was untying Mrs. Thomson, and Seru sat on the counter. Cell walked over to him. “Are you okay?” “Daddy that was so cool! Can you do that light thingy from your hands again?” Cell laughed. “I take that as a yes. I’ll show you tomorrow, how’s that?” Seru’s face lit up. “Oh yeah!” Mrs. Thomson came up behind Cell. “I’ll admit, I didn’t think you had changed. But I can see now that you did. Thank-you, Cell.” |
