Chapter 15 - Back to Reality - Anime - http://maxpages.com/cassiesfanfic/Chapter_15
Cell and the ogre returned to the Grand Kai’s planet. The ogre put the handcuffs on Cell’s wrists and motioned for Cell to follow him to the waiting plane. Cell didn’t say a word. In fact he barely looked up as he walked. He had never been so depressed before. He felt as if someone had shot him down and stomped on him repeatedly. He walked slowly behind the ogre, passing Goku and King Kai on the way. He didn’t even look at Goku.
When Cell was almost out of site, Goku asked King Kai, “What’s the matter with Cell? He looks so depressed.”
King Kai shook his head. “I don’t know what’s wrong. I wasn’t keeping track of what happened on Earth.”
“Well, I was,” said the Grand Kai walking up behind them.
“Can you tell us what went on then?” Goku asked.
“Cell’s all depressed because he didn’t want to leave that girl, Lara I think her name is. Cell also discovered he had a four year old son. That guy has been through a lot; and now he wishes he had never started the tournament or that stuff.” The Grand Kai shook his head. “It’s a shame, really. He learned when it was too late.”
“Man,” said Goku. “I never thought Cell would be that depressed over something like that. I thought he hated humans and the Earth.”
“I don’t know how he feels about the rest of Earth, but he sure does care about that girl and his son. Strange. He’s been completely changed by love. I gotta go check out how everything else is running around here. See you later, Goku; King Kai.”
After the Grand Kai had left, Goku starred into space. I can’t believe it…Cell…is in love…yikes that’s scary, he thought.
Cell was escorted back down to HFIL and to the jail. He walked through the door and sat on the mats. He didn’t even bother waiting for the ogre to take the handcuffs off.
“Hey, don’t you want those off?” Asked the ogre.
“It doesn’t matter,” Cell said. He looked at his hands. He knew he probably could’ve broken the handcuffs off, but he felt like his energy was drained. If he wasn’t already dead, he could’ve died of depression. The ogre shut the door and left.
The Ginyu Force, Frieza, and King Cold looked on at Cell. “What’s the matter with him?” Asked Frieza. The others shrugged.
Cell reflected back on the day he had spent with Lara. And Seru. He couldn’t stop thinking about them. I wish I didn’t do it now. I’m sorry…
Goku stopped his training and sat on the ground. “What’s wrong now?” King Kai asked.
“I was just thinking…”
King Kai fell to the ground and covered his head. “Yikes! Watch it everybody! Goku’s thinking!”
“Very funny, King Kai. I’m serious. I think that it’s a shame Cell left a family behind. I know that I sure miss Chi Chi and Gohan. I would do anything to see them again. Wait!”
“What?” King Kai got back to his feet.
“Baba! Couldn’t Baba use her crystal ball to let Cell see that girl again?”
“I don’t know. But that might make Cell feel worse.”
“Oh yeah, huh.”
“Did someone call me?” Baba came flying on her crystal ball.
“Yeah. I was wondering…could you show Cell what his girlfriend is doing right now?” Goku looked hopeful.
“Goku!” Exclaimed King Kai.
“I can, but I don’t know if I want to go down there,” Baba said.
“I’ll be your body guard. Please? I want to do something. I can’t stand to see anybody so low and depressed; even Cell.”
“Well, I guess so…” Baba didn’t have a chance to finish. Goku grabbed her arm and used his instant transmission to bring them down to HFIL.
Goku and Baba arrived at the jail finding Cell sitting on the mats. “Hey Cell!” Goku called.
Cell looked up. “Goku? What do you want? I haven’t done anything.”
“I know,” said Goku. “Come here for a second.”
Cell got up and said, “I don’t feel like playing any of your games. What is it?”
Goku pointed to the crystal ball. “What’s this?” Cell asked.
“What’s the name of that girl?”
“You mean Lara? Why do you want to know?”
Baba started saying a bunch of words that rhymed. “Crystal ball show us all. Let us see this Lara of Cell’s, and make him feel well.” An image started to appear. Cell bent down to get a better look at the crystal ball. A girl with blue hair appeared in the ball.
“Lara!” Cell said. The image came in clearly showing Lara sitting at a table playing checkers with Seru. King Kai was right. This did more harm than good. Cell turned away. “Go away Goku. I don’t want to be bothered…”
Goku didn’t know what to say. “Gee, I thought I was doing a good deed.”
Back down on Earth, in the small house at the base of a hill, Lara and Seru sat playing a game of checkers. She had just been in her room crying and looking at the picture of Cell. Seeing Seru in the doorway is what made her stop.
“King me,” said Seru. “Mommy…”
“What?”
“Why did Daddy do all those bad things?”
“I don’t know. I don’t think he could even help it. I told you a few minutes ago that he was an android created to destroy. I don't think he was supposed to have the sudden change he did.”
“Oh. I’m sorry. I don’t mean to talk about him. I know it hurts you.”
“No, no. Don’t worry about it. He wouldn’t want us to be like this. He’d want us to be happy and carry on with our lives. Just remember the time you spent with him.”
“I will, Mommy. I’ll never forget him.”
Neither will I, thought Lara. That night Lara sat on the tree stump on the cliff. Seru was sleeping at home, and she needed to get out for a while. She knew he would be okay. When she felt she had been gone long enough she got up to leave. But before she walked away, she looked at the stars in the sky. Cell, wherever you are…I’ll never forget you. I hope we’ll meet again…someday. She smiled and returned home.
