| Gohan powered up creating loads of debris to go flying in the air. Cell watched, unamused. Soon after Gohan stopped, the two started to fight. Cell looked as if he was in control and Gohan didn’t stand a chance. He knocked Gohan from mountain to mountain. Gohan tried dodging all of Cell’s attacks, but Cell wouldn’t go easy. Eventually Gohan was thrown into a mountain that collapsed on top of him. Cell won! Lara thought. Cell looked at the pile of rocks. “Well, Goku,” he said, “it seems that I have beaten your son after all. You were a fool to let him fight.” Just as Cell finished his sentence, a large power came from under the rocks. Gohan was still alive. Cell smiled. “Well, maybe you’ll be more challenging than I originally thought.” Gohan slowly walked up to Cell with a stern face. “You bet I am. However, I think you should reconsider fighting me.” “Reconsider?” Cell laughed. “You have got to be joking.” “I’m not joking, Cell. I don’t think you understand what can happen if I’m pushed over the edge. I’ll kill you.” Gohan started telling Cell the story about his hidden power. When Gohan finished Cell said, “Interesting story. But it didn’t work. At least, not in the way you thought. This hidden power of yours intrigues me. You have given me something to work for.” Cell started attacking Gohan again. Gohan could barely keep up with the punches Cell threw at him. Finally, a hard punch hit Gohan on the side of his face. He went sailing into another mountain and fell to the ground. At first it looked as if he was unconscious. Then he tried to get up. “Where’s this hidden power Gohan? I’m just going get tougher until you show me this power of yours.” Cell dove at Gohan, who just moved away in time to miss a blow to his stomach. Cell stood up and turned around. Gohan kneeled on the ground trying to catch his breath. “Don’t tell me you’re tired already.” Gohan just watched all of Cell’s moves. As Cell was about to attack Gohan again, someone got to Cell first. Android 16 jumped into the scene tightly wrapping his arms around Cell, lifting him off the ground. Lara looked on in worry. Oh no…Cell, don’t let this guy get you! Android 16 threatened to self-destruct and destroy himself along with Cell. For a moment Cell became worried himself. He knew that if 16 self-destructed then he would go along with him. Then something happened that no one thought would happen. 16’s bomb didn’t go off. Krillin yelled that the bomb was removed and that 16 could no longer blow himself up. Cell laughed and broke 16’s hold on him, and blew the android to pieces. This was the first time Lara actually saw Cell kill someone. In a way she couldn’t believe it, even though she knew that wasn’t the first time he’s done it. “Well, 16 would’ve saved you a lot of pain, but luck was on my side. So Gohan, we still haven’t gotten you mad.” Cell quickly flew over and started another brawl. Saddened by 16’s loss, Gohan could barely focus. His mind couldn’t stay with the fight. Then Cell’s fist came up and hit Gohan under the chin sending him flying high in the air. Gohan landed with a hard thud. He tried to sit up, but it was obvious he was in pain. Cell walked over with a big grin on his face. “At the rate you’re going, you won’t have the chance to release this hidden power. It was a good try on your part, Gohan, but you just didn’t have what it takes to defeat me.” He lifted a hand and pointed his finger at Gohan. A tiny red beam appeared. Cell fired it at Gohan. However, the beam didn’t hit Gohan. It hit Goku. He had jumped in its path to save his son. “Dad!” Gohan cried. He ran over to his fallen father. “Dad, why did you do that?” Goku opened his eyes and looked at his son. “If I didn’t do it then Cell would’ve hit you. You’re the Earth’s only hope Gohan. You have the power. Now, make Cell pay for what he’s done.” Goku gave a short smile at Gohan. With his dying breath he said, “I’m very proud of you son; take care of your mother for me…” Goku’s eyes closed and his head fell back. “Dad! No Daddy!” Gohan cried. Soon after Goku’s body disappeared. Lara felt bad about what just happened. She heard the boy crying out. Oh Cell, why’d you do it? “Now Gohan, if you were at least trying to fight me in the first place, that wouldn’t have happened. It’s not my fault that Goku did that, but it is your fault that he had too.” “Cell…” Gohan said fiercely. His power began to rise. His hair got longer and stood higher than before. He let out a yell that could’ve broken windows. Gohan had transformed into Super Saiyan level two. Cell’s eyes became wider when he felt Gohan’s power. It’s huge, he thought. Gohan looked at Cell with piercing eyes. “You’ll pay for what you’ve done to all the innocent people, and especially my father.” “So you’ve finally decided to fight me, huh?” “I won’t need to fight you Cell,” Gohan said. “I’m going to end you’re life right now.” Cell chuckled to himself, and the two started fighting once again. However, Gohan was now in control. None of Cell’s punches came close to hitting his opponent. Frustrated, Cell tried to move faster, but he was doing worse than before. “Stay still!” He yelled. Of course Gohan didn’t listen. “Fight me you brat!” Gohan did listen to this though. He easily landed a punch into Cell’s stomach and made him crash to the ground. Cell got up and swung at Gohan again. Then Gohan hit him to the ground by punching his face. Gohan was basically doing the same thing Cell had done to him earlier. Lara held her hands in a tight fist. She could feel her stomach turn inside with nervousness. No Cell, you’re losing it… Cell was starting to get desperate. He powered up a Kamehameha; he fired it at Gohan, who single handedly flung it in back of him. Cell was furious. Then he realized where that blast was heading. It was going straight towards Lara. Lara! He knew there wasn’t anytime; he quickly flew up, and pushed Lara to the ground, not having enough time to get himself out of the way. The Kamehameha wave hit his back and started pushing him forward. Cell tried to move away, but there was too much force to do so. Lara was scared to death. She didn’t know what to do to help. Finally, Cell was able to turn to the side and the blast went by him. He stood there, out of breath. He fell to his knees and tried to catch his breath. Lara rushed over; she saw that his back was scrapped up badly. “Cell…Cell are you okay…” “Fine…I’ll be fine…” Gohan and the Z fighters looked on in shock. “Cell just saved her life,” said Trunks. Cell slowly got to his feet again. “Cell, you can’t fight anymore. You’re hurt,” Lara said. He pushed her hand off his arm. “I told you, I’ll be fine. I’ve been through worse than this.” “But Cell…” Cell slowly flew back to the battleground. He landed in front of Gohan, holding his arm. “So you still want to fight,” said Gohan. “You’re not going to get rid of me that easily…” Cell said. He ran over to Gohan and tried to hit him, but now his odds of winning were less than they were before. Cell stood right in front of Gohan. He gave a half smile. In a blink of an eye he let out a blast from his hand targeting Gohan’s head. Gohan quickly dodged the blast and let out one of his own before Cell could even react. The blast went right through Cell’s chest. “Cell!!” Lara screamed. She started running down to the battleground. Cell looked at his wound, his body shaking. “You…you h-hit…” Cell fell to the ground. Lara appeared on the scene and fell to her knees even before she reached Cell. She crawled the rest of the way and picked up his head in her arms. “Cell…look at you…” Cell slowly opened his eyes and turned his head towards her. “Lara…” he said. Lara wiped the blood from his mouth. “I’m…I’m sorry Lara…” Cell coughed. “It’s okay. We’ll get you help.” He smiled. “Lara…I’m sorry that I broke my promise…” Lara’s eyes quickly filled with tears. It didn’t take long for them to escape her eyes and run down her cheeks. “Don’t talk like that. You promised me you wouldn’t die…you never lie remember…” Cell laughed weakly. He put his hand to her cheek and tried pushing away the tears. “Lara…I didn’t mean to lie to you…” “Cell…don’t you dare!” Lara held his hand. “I…love…” Cell never finished his sentence. His eyes were still on Lara’s face when they slowly closed. His head became heavier in her hands. “Cell!!! Cell don’t leave me!!” She cried. “You promised me! You said you’d be all right when this was over! Cell! Cell!!!” Lara put her head on top of him and cried, still saying his name. The Z fighters had came to the spot were the evil android had fallen, and where this girl cried over his death. Then Lara noticed that Cell’s body began to disappear. She looked up and tried to get a tighter grip on him, but it was useless. Cell totally disappeared from Lara’s arms. |
