There are many things about people that we are unaware of. Sometimes, you would hear a story and think it not true because you could never imagine a certain person to have experienced certain circumstances. However, everyone has his or her secrets. Most keep it locked up inside, never to tell anyone for whatever reason.
As said, everyone has a secret; even the Supreme Kai. We all know him as the short, purple skinned god with a white mohawk. Never would we think that he had a secret locked up inside of his heart; but he does. Something more than the devastation that Majin Buu caused on his home planet Kaioshin-kai. This secret was kept not only because it’s too painful for him to remember and tell, but also because it was forbidden to happen to a person of his stature.
The story starts many years before the attack of Buu. In fact, Buu hadn’t even been created as of yet. Everyone is said to have a sole mate. Of course, with that statement, the story is about our Kaioshin and his long lost sole mate. However, this isn’t one of those sappy Cinderella stories. This is a story of two people’s love for each other, how they were forced to keep everything a secret, and how the relationship came to a drastic end. It begins on a warm, sunny day on Kaioshin-kai, home of the great Kaioshins. The Supreme Kai, known back then as East Kaioshin, was lounging around the large grassy hills of the land. The universe was, for now at least, at peace-despite the small wars that were taken place on various planets, something that the Kaioshins were not allowed to interfere with. Kaioshin sat on the ground, using a tree for support. He dozed in and out of a nap, listening to the sounds of nature. Little did he know, that later that day his life would change forever.
East Kaioshin woke up, after dozing for the hundredth time. He looked down to see the sun preparing to set. The water on the lake sparkled in the afternoon sun, the water looking more lavender than blue. He stood up and stretched his tired body, then looked around to see if he was still alone. Too lazy to walk the entire way back to the Kaioshin Mansion, the young god teleported himself to the front door. The doors opened before him, and he walked in.
The mansion was similar to the looks of the Grand Kai’s. However, the Kaioshin’s home was much larger in size. Inside, above the door was a large crystal chandelier. A large red carpet with gold thread covered the floor from the front entrance to the stairs. The staircase started several yards in front of the front door, and then split into two separate ways, going the opposite direction. Glass doors were closed at the start of each hallway-four on each side, two upstairs, and two down. A table sat on each side of the staircase, centered with a large white vase holding multi-colored roses. Each window in the foyer was almost as tall as the room was, each having blue and gold curtains hanging from the top. The floors and staircase banisters were made of marble, and each room was edged with fancy, handcrafted moldings.
East Kaioshin went through the glass doors to a hallway on his right. As he turned a corner, he literally ran into someone coming quickly from the opposite direction. The other person gasped, thinking she was at fault. East Kaioshin smiled at her and extended his hand to help the girl up.
“I’m so sorry,” she said, apparently out of breath.
“It’s no big deal. Do not concern yourself with it.” He smiled as he pulled her to her feet. “I have not seen you before. Have you recently come here?” He looked over her delicate features. She was a kai, almost his own height. Her hair was a deep purple, her skin being a shade of peach. He noticed her emerald-green eyes that looked so helpless and innocent at him.
“I came here yesterday. I’m one of the new servants for the Kaioshins,” she said. She looked at her feet.
“That’s interesting. I was not informed of a new servant.” Kaioshin lifted her head in his hand. “No harm has been done.”
“Thank you sir,” she said. She excused herself and quickly walked off. East Kaioshin watched her until she turned another corner. He smiled and continued down the hallway to the large dinning room.
He entered the room to find the other Kaioshins sitting at a long table, made of deep cherry wood. They were situated at one end, Dai Kaioshin sitting at the head. East Kaioshin took a seat next to North Kaioshin, West Kaioshin being across from him.
“Glad you could join us, East,” South Kaioshin joked.
“You know I like to make an entrance,” East Kaioshin smiled back at him.
“Well, now that you’re here, onto dinner,” Dai Kaioshin said and clapped his hands. Soon doors in the back of the room opened and servants walked out with the meals.
The girl from before carried the wine bottle and began to serve each god. She looked at the five Kaioshins sitting around her, and then noticed the one she bumped into a few minutes earlier. The bottle began to shake in her hand as she poured East Kaioshin his drink. She tried not to look at him, now know that she had bumped into one of her new masters.
“Thank-you,” he said when she finished. He looked up at her with his dark black eyes. They gave her a sort of comfort that relaxed her nerves. She bowed and walked away.
After the meal was over, East and West Kaioshin walked down another hallway together. They discussed the conversations that Dai Kaioshin had brought up, and made jokes towards one another like they usually did. Soon they went their separate ways, East Kaioshin heading to his sleeping quarters for the remainder of the day. As he approached his bedroom doors, he thought about the servant girl from before. She seemed so nervous around the others and me. I wonder why she has come here now. We haven’t had any new servants in decades. His curiosity started to frustrate him and he set out to find her.
Finally he found her outside, sitting on a marble bench at the entrance to the gardens. She didn’t notice him until he started talking. “Are you busy?” He asked.
She jumped when she heard his voice. She quickly stood up and bowed. “No sir. How may I assist you?”
“I don’t want you to do anything. I was just looking for some company. Sit down.” She did so and he sat down next to her. “We really never had proper introduction earlier. Both of us were in a hurry to get to our destination.” He paused for a moment. “As I’m sure you already are aware of, I am East Kaioshin.”
The servant girl’s eyes widened and she immediately got to her knees in front of him. “I didn’t know it was you before.”
Kaioshin laughed. “Please don’t do that. Personally I don’t like it. The others might think it proper for servants to bow to them, but I for one am not that fond of it. Now, what may I ask is your name?”
“Sabrina, your highness,” she said shyly.
“Well, Sabrina, I am honored to meet you.” He motioned for her to sit back down upon the bench. She slowly sat down beside him. “Why do you act so timid around me?”
“Because you are a god, and I am nothing but a servant. It is my place to bow and respect you.”
“Who told you that?”
“Arden, sir.”
“He would say something like that. Well, you do not need to bow and say ‘my lord’ or ‘your highness’ if it is just you and me. You can just call me Kaioshin.”
“As you wish, sir.”
“I’m glad we got that cleared up.” He smiled and stood before her. “Good day, Sabrina.”
“Good day, Kaioshin.”
The next day, Sabrina was putting fresh roses in the vases as instructed to do. She carefully placed each one in its own spot, and arranged the colors so they were not all grouped together. As she did this, she noticed West Kaioshin coming down the stairs. Sabrina bowed at the god as she walked by. Not long to follow was East Kaioshin. His white hair bounced gently as he stepped down each step of the stairs. He smiled when he saw Sabrina.
“Good morning,” was all he said and he continued on his way. Sabrina watched him walk through the front door. She smiled and continued her work. He was the first one to ever treat her like she was special.
Sabrina turned around to find that someone watching her. He was of the kai race, but much taller than most of them. His hair was a dark green, and his skin a light blue. He too was a servant of the Kaioshins, but has been serving them much longer than Sabrina has been. He smiled and walked over to her, placing his hands on her shoulders.
“You know, you’re the prettiest kai I’ve seen in ages, besides West Kaioshin, that is,” he said.
“Thank you, but I have work to do.” Sabrina tried to walk away, but he kept her in her place.
“You would reject a man like me? You obviously don’t know right from wrong.”
“I do, and you’re the wrong. Now if you’d please, let me go.”
“How dare you act so insubordinate to me. You will listen and obey me, do you hear?” His hands moved to her arms and gripped them tightly.
“You’re hurting me,” Sabrina told him, trying to break free. “Let me go!”
“What’s going on down there?” The voice of Dai Kaioshin asked.
The kai quickly let Sabrina go and bowed before the great god. “You’re highness,” he said. Sabrina bowed as well, but took the opportunity to get away. She went out the front doors and walked quickly to the side of the house. She fell to her knees and recalled what just happened. The kai’s name was Arden, the one that had told her to be respectful towards the Kaioshins. He was a husky, ignorant man that wanted nothing but the use of girls. Sabrina gave a sigh of relief for the meantime, and returned to her work.
Many weeks passed. Sabrina had become quite friendly with East Kaioshin. She no longer was afraid to talk to him like she had been. The other Kaioshins were friendly and kind, but not like him. She had started to grow very fond of him. However, her daydreams were shattered when she realized who he actually was. A god who is not to be involved with any type of relationships. The one person that did want her was Arden, the man she came to despise. He was constantly at her side, trying to win her over. He had been at it so much lately.
Every month, a servant is given the day off, and today belonged to Sabrina. She journeyed to the lake and sat underneath a tree, watching the water sparkle from the suns. She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath.
A shadow loomed over her, causing her to jump at the thought that it could be Arden. She opened her eyes and sat up, only to find it was East Kaioshin. She smiled and let out a sigh of relief.
“What was that for?” He asked letting out a slight laugh.
“I thought you were Arden,” she replied.
“Oh, I see. Do you want me to summon him for you?”
“Oh no!” Kaioshin’s eyes widened at her remark. “I’m glad it’s not him. I really can’t stand the guy. He’s constantly hitting on me.”
“Well, I can see why,” Kaioshin said softly, causing Sabrina to blush. “May I join you?”
“Of course,” she said. Kaioshin sat down next to her, studying her expression. “What?” She asked finally.
“Nothing,” Kaioshin said. His black eyes focused on the lake in front of them. “It’s a beautiful day.”
“It’s always a beautiful day here. I love this planet.”
“Wasn’t your home planet like this? You are a kai, am I right?”
She looked at her feet. “It was much like this. But I didn’t enjoy my time on it. People made fun of me because my father was a failure in life. They used to belittle us constantly, and it became tiresome.”
“Is that why you came here?”
“Partly. My father died, and my mother became very sick. We didn’t have any money to support ourselves. I couldn’t find a job where I wasn’t ridiculed, so I came here. Besides, I was told that a person that dedicates their lives to serving the gods, their family didn’t have to worry about the expenses of life.”
Kaioshin starred at her for the longest time after she said that. “I didn’t know; I’m sorry.”
Sabrina didn’t speak at first. “There’s no need for you to be sorry. It’s not your fault. You’re the first person that I can remember that’s treated me like I’m someone.”
“You are someone, Sabrina. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. And if they do say something, tell them to come to me.”
She smiled. “Thanks.” She looked at his lavender face, and couldn’t help but get lost in his black eyes. She loved spending time with him, and wished the moments would last for eternity.
“Is there something on my face?” Kaioshin laughed.
“Oh no!” Sabrina turned away, blushing. Stupid, she thought. Why can’t I hide my emotions?
“Perhaps it’s because you’re an open minded person,” Kaioshin replied to her thoughts.
Sabrina looked at him quickly. “But how…”
“I read your thoughts. I’m honored that you think that way, Sabrina. But remember that I’m a god…and I can’t get involved.”
Sabrina’s face became pale when he said this. Not only did he read her thoughts, but he also found out about how she felt about him…and he turned her down so quickly. Kaioshin smiled and put a hand on her shoulder. “I don’t mind being friends with you though,” he said. He stood up and looked back down at her. “I must be going. Enjoy the rest of your day off.”
“Thank you, sir,” Sabrina said, not looking at him. Kaioshin hesitated, but finally teleported back to the mansion. Sabrina looked up, a tear escaping her eye. She knew that she couldn’t be with him, but it still hurt. She pulled her knees up to her face and buried her head in them.
Kaioshin returned to the house and looked up at the large building. He walked inside and went up the stairs to his large bedroom. As he entered, he looked at the room as if he’d never seen it before. He sat on the bed and looked at ceiling. “Why must I live a life that is so difficult?” He asked no one. “That’s a girl that’s crazy about me…and I can’t even attempt to think about her because of what I am. Curse my life!” He buried his head in the heaping pile of pillows and stayed there to think.
Time passed. Life on Kaioshin-kai remained peaceful and quiet. However, a new threat had come to the universe. He called himself Bibidi, and with his creation Majin Buu, he vowed to destroy the universe. The Kaioshins where quite aware of the terror, but were powerless to stop them. However, after a few planets were completely destroyed, the menace disappeared. The Kaioshins knew that Buu hadn’t died, but for now, the universe seemed to be safe.
The Grand Kai and the other Kais was coming to Kaioshin-kai for a banquet. The servants were extremely busy preparing for the event. Sabrina set the table, with Dai Kaioshin at the head of one end, and the Grand Kai at the other end. The Kaioshins were to be seated at one end by Dai Kaioshin and the Kais at the end the Grand Kai sat at. She made sure everything looked perfect.
Soon the guests arrived, and the meal was served. Much laughing could be heard; Sabrina only wished she knew what was so funny. She peeked out the kitchen door and saw East Kaioshin sitting next to West Kaioshin. He didn’t seem to be as amused as the others were. However, the others were like pranksters, especially West Kaioshin.
“Sabrina, bring the deserts,” Dai Kaioshin called.
Sabrina and another servant brought out two trays each filled with small pastries. A tray was placed at each end, and two in the middle. Sabrina couldn’t help but catch East Kaioshin watching her every move. She didn’t smile; instead she did what was to be done and left.
East Kaioshin looked down at the deserts, suddenly not feeling as hungry as he was. He still felt bad about breaking her heart, though they never were an item. He hated to disappoint a person, and now he wished he kept his mouth shut and let her daydream.
“What’s wrong East?” West Kaioshin asked.
“Nothing. What makes you think there is?”
“I don’t know. You look sad for some reason.”
“Don’t worry about me. I’m fine.”
The meal was over, and the servants were now busy cleaning up. Sabrina was wiping the table when two arms came from behind and wrapped around her waist. She gasped at the feel of warm breath hitting her neck. She looked up to see Arden.
“Please leave me alone. I have work to do.”
“So do I,” he said. “But since no one is around, I thought I’d take this opportunity to spend some quality time with you.”
“Please,” she said harshly. “Leave me alone!”
Arden turned her around and held onto her arms tightly. He shook her a couple of times to make sure he had her attention. “Now you listen to me,” he practically yelled, “I’m superior towards you and you will obey me. You are mine whether you like it or not.”
“I belong to no one!” Sabrina yelled.
Arden became angry and pushed her to the floor. “I will teach you some respect, you pathetic little…”
“Arden! Stop at once!” A voice said angrily.
Arden and Sabrina looked up to see East Kaioshin standing not far from where they were. “Your highness…” Arden started. “I…this isn’t what it looks like, sir…”
“Save it,” Kaioshin said with a harsh look on his face. “I know that you’ve been tormenting this girl. However, now you will not be here to do so anymore.”
“But…”
“Silence!” Kaioshin snapped. “I banish you from Kaioshin-kai. I want you to be gone by tomorrow morning at dawn. And if I ever see you near this girl again, you will suffer a more terrible punishment. Do you understand?”
“Of course, Master.” Arden bowed. As he started to leave, he looked at Sabrina, who still sat on the floor. He gave her a harsh look, and left the room to gather his belongings.
Kaioshin watched him until he was out of sight. Then he turned his attention to Sabrina. “I’m sorry I didn’t do that sooner,” he told her.
“It’s okay. I thank you for coming to my rescue.”
Kaioshin helped her to her feet. He noticed her scared, yet relieved expression. “Sabrina…” he started. “I didn’t mean to say what I did that day. I just want you to know that if I could, I would get involved. But it’s just too complicated right now.”
“Please, your highness…you don’t need to tell me anything,” she said picking up the rag she used to clean the table. “If you’d excuse me…”
“Wait,” Kaioshin said grabbing her arm. “Don’t do this to yourself.”
“What do you mean?”
“Denying your feelings. I’m the one being a fool…”
“No,” she interrupted. “I’m being the fool. I should know better. It’s just that I’ve never had anyone who I truly cared about. I’m just glad you changed that for me.”
“Sabrina…” Kaioshin said in a pleading voice.
“I’m sorry I was being such a pest to you”
“You’re not a pest at all. Please don’t say things like that.”
“You highness…you have guests here. And I must return to my work before I get in trouble. Good night.” She turned to leave again, forgetting that he still had a hold of her arm. He didn’t let go. Instead he pulled her back and took a hold of her other arm with his other hand. He leaned over and kissed her. Sabrina relaxed in his arms, not quite believing what he was doing. His hands loosened on her arms and started to embrace her. Her hands moved to his chest and held onto his shirt.
Kaioshin broke away and looked at her innocent face. “They’re looking for me. I better go before we get caught.” He let her go and backed away. Then he turned, and was gone. Sabrina stood there for what seemed like hours. She was broken out of her trance when another servant yelled for her to get back to work. As she left the dinning room, she smiled and looked back to the spot where he had kissed her. She mouthed the words ‘thank you’ and walked away.
It had been two days since they shared their first kiss. In a way, Kaioshin acted like it never happened. But Sabrina was convinced he felt something for her as she did for him. She would get her hopes up every time she saw him, but knew that nothing would ever happen in the presence of others.
A rumor had been going around among the servants that the Kaioshins became worried with the threat of Majin Buu. It seemed that more planets had been destroyed, and the Kaioshins felt there was nothing they could do because of the power this being possessed.
The sun was setting, and there seemed to be no sign of East Kaioshin. Sabrina casually looked around for him, but he was nowhere to be found. Not long after she had given up her search South Kaioshin approached her.
“Sabrina,” he said, “bring East Kaioshin something to eat. He doesn’t seem interested in coming down anytime soon.”
“Of course, sir,” she replied. “South Kaioshin… if you don’t mind me asking…is he alright?”
South Kaioshin hesitated a moment. “Between you and me only, he’s blaming himself for the destruction of two planets. He’s in one of his moods…he won’t come down and face anyone until he gets over it.”
Sabrina bowed and hurried to the kitchen to get food. She placed everything on a tray and carefully carried it up the stairs to East Kaioshin’s room. Sabrina looked at the door, a little bit nervous. Finally she gathered the courage to knock.
At first there was no answer. But finally a faint “Who is it?” came from inside.
“It’s Sabrina, your highness.”
Another pause and the door finally opened. Sabrina slowly walked in, shutting the door behind her. She looked around the lavishly decorated bedroom. Then she remembered why she had come. “I brought you some food, Kaioshin.”
“Thank you…leave it on the table over there.” Sabrina looked around and saw the table he meant. She placed the tray down on it and looked around for Kaioshin. She finally spotted him sitting on a window seat, the wall supporting his back and one leg dangling off the side.
Sabrina took it upon herself to comfort him as best she could. She went up next to him and waited for a response. When she didn’t get one, she asked, “Are you okay?”
“Fine,” he said sadly.
“What’s wrong? Can I do something to help? Or is it me altogether?”
“No,” he said. “It’s not you at all. It’s just that I failed being a god and I can’t help but blame myself for it.”
“You mean about the planets, don’t you,” she said gently.
“How did you know?” He looked up at her with a puzzled look on his face.
“South Kaioshin told me.”
Kaioshin looked back out the window. “It’s my duty as a god to protect the galaxies in the eastern section of the universe. Now there are two less planets in it. And it’s because of me.”
“Why do you blame yourself? There’s nothing you could’ve done. The other Kaioshins know it…Majin Buu is practically indestructible. Don’t blame yourself for something like that. There’s nothing you could’ve done.”
“I could’ve tried to stop him. At least I could’ve put some effort into helping them instead of just waiting to see what would happen.”
Sabrina sat down on the other end of the seat and picked up his hand. “Now it’s your turn to listen to me. You’re East Kaioshin, and you are the protector of the eastern universe. But you and I both know that if you went out there to help them you could’ve been killed. And if that happened…I don’t know what I’d do with myself…” she finished softly. Kaioshin looked up at her. “Please don’t feel bad, Kaioshin. That was the past. Look towards the future and protect that.”
Her words repeated several times in his head before he did or said anything. “You’re right Sabrina. You truly are someone special. You’re the first mortal to understand me.”
“What do you mean?”
“Just about everyone in the entire universe believes that the Kaioshins are gods that have no problems of their own. If something were to happen to them, they’d look eagerly for the new gods to come. But you…you actually care for my well-being…and I appreciate that.”
“I try…”
Kaioshin tightened his grip on her hand. He sat forward, pulling her closer to himself. Their faces were inches apart. Sabrina could feel his sweet breath on her own lips. “Now I know why I like you so much. Arden was right…you are so beautiful it’s breathtaking…but you have heart. That’s what I like the most about you.”
Sabrina smiled and was lost in his eyes once again. “Kaioshin…I…” She never did finish that sentence. Before she knew it she was in his arms, being smothered in kisses. She wrapped her arms around his neck to keep him from backing away this time. They both held each other close, as if to never let go. Eventually Kaioshin picked her up in his arms and brought her over to his bed. He gently placed her on top of it, and brought himself down on top of her. He looked at her for permission, which she granted with a slight nod.
The morning sun beamed through the windows, for the curtains were never closed the night before. Sabrina awakened to feel the smoothness of silk sheets. She opened her eyes and found herself in a much different room than her own. At first she couldn’t figure out where she was. Then it dawned on her. She moved her hand down to her waste and found an arm that didn’t belong to her. She glanced over her shoulder to see a sleeping Kaioshin behind her. She smiled, now remembering what happened.
Suddenly the arm pulled her closer. His face could be felt against her shoulder. “Good morning,” he whispered in her ear.
“Good morning,” she replied back. “I couldn’t believe where I was when I woke up. I could’ve sworn I’d find that it was all a dream.”
“No, it was very much real,” Kaioshin said. He kissed her neck a few times and then sat up.
“I hope they’re not looking for me,” Sabrina said sitting up next to him, pulling the sheets around herself to keep warm.
“Let them. If they become suspicious, tell them you weren’t feeling good and that I can back up your words.”
Sabrina looked at him with loving eyes. She still couldn’t believe what happened. “Kaioshin…was last night…just nothing? I mean did you truly mean it?”
He turned towards her and looked at her with puzzled eyes. “Why would you ask something like that? Of course I meant it. I’m not that type of person.” She smiled and blushed. “Sabrina, I have never felt this way about anyone in my entire life. You’re the first woman that I’ve been in love with…and I hope you’ll be the only one. But for now…you mustn’t mention anything about ‘us’.”
“I promise.” She leaned over and gave him a kiss on the cheek, which turned to a passionate kiss on the lips.
A few days passed. Kaioshin and Sabrina spent as much time as they could when no one was around. However, between the other Kaioshins and the servants, it was not an easy task. They came very close to being caught near the lake by North Kaioshin as he came down to go fishing. The tree hid them, so they were able to get away before he noticed. It was almost like a game they played. A hide and seek game. They would hide until someone came close to finding them.
Unfortunately their time became shorter together as the universe’s safety became harder to keep. Majin Buu was destroying more and more planets. Sabrina saw the anger, yet fear in Kaioshin’s eyes whenever she was with him. She thought it best not to bring up the subject, so she kept her mouth quiet.
Another warm sunny day came. Kaioshin had decided to read a book on a hill. Sabrina was busy doing her morning chores, so he would not see her until later. As he flipped a page, he heard the laughter of West Kaioshin as she ran away with a rice ball South Kaioshin wanted so desperately. East Kaioshin could tell that it was going to be a good day by all the happy moods everyone was in. He sat up to watch the event and laughed as South Kaioshin jumped off the cliff to retrieve his falling prize.
Meanwhile, Sabrina did her weekly chore of replacing the roses with freshly picked ones. She hummed to herself as she did this; that is until a loud bang could be heard from the other end of the house. It was so powerful that the vase she was preparing rattled and fell off the table. She jumped back as it shattered on the floor.
Curious to what had happened, she went to the area the blast seemed to have come from. She found a fellow servant who was curious about the same thing. “What happened?” She asked.
“I don’t know…” Sabrina replied, her voice trailing off. Soon their question was answered when a voice could be heard from down the hall.
“That was great, Majin Buu!” Someone laughed.
“Oh no…” Sabrina said to herself. Her instincts told her to run, but it was too late.
East and West Kaioshin looked over the cliff to see South Kaioshin swimming to shore with his rice ball. West started laughing hysterically, but something bothered East Kaioshin.
“What’s wrong?” she asked her companion.
“I fear something terrible has happened…the house…someone’s there.”
“Of course…the servants are…”
“No,” East said. “Buu…”
He was right. It was Majin Buu. The epic battle on Kaioshin-kai started. The five gods didn’t stand a chance against him. Especially when the monster absorbed South Kaioshin after he slaughtered West Kaioshin. Soon North Kaioshin fell victim to the tyrant’s evil rampage.
“This can’t be happening…” East said to himself. Then it dawned on him. “Sabrina…” he started to head back to the mansion, only to be confronted by Buu himself. “You monster…” he said.
The tall, pink, and ugly creature only laughed as he looked down upon the young god of the east. “Now you die!” It only took a few hits to knock the god down. Just as he thought his life was to end at the hands of Buu, Dai Kaioshin himself blocked the attack. Majin Buu absorbed him as well, leaving East Kaioshin the last god alive on Kaioshin-kai.
For some odd reason, Kaioshin’s life was spared. Perhaps it was because it was thought that he was already dead, or would die because he was so badly wounded. Kaioshin lay in the rubble for a few seconds, thinking of giving up his fight to stay alive. But then he again remembered Sabrina. He picked himself up and tried to teleport to back to the mansion, but he was too weak to do so. He stumbled around on his feet, making his way back to her.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity of walking, he came upon the house…still smoking from the attack. Tears filled his eyes, knowing that there was little chance she was still alive. He used every ounce of strength he had left to get to the front door.
“Sabrina!” He called as he charged through the doors. “Sabrina! Where are you?!” But it was no use. No one answered. Determined to find her, he searched the rooms, until he came upon one that was blown to pieces.
“Sabrina! Please answer me!” The tears in his eyes started to blind him. Then, he found her. She lay under a piece of marble that had fallen from the ceiling. Using his good arm, he lifted it off her and pulled her onto his lap. “Sabrina, please say you’re still with me.”
For a moment there was no response. Then her eyes slowly opened. “Kai…Kaioshin…you came for me.”
“Of course…”
“You’re hurt…”
“I’ll be fine.”
“No…you’re bleeding…badly.”
“All I care about is you. I’ll find someone to heal you…and you’ll be safe.”
“Find someone to heal you, Kaioshin. You must continue to protect the universe.”
“Sabrina…I don’t care about the universe right now. I just care about you.”
“I’m glad I came here, Kaioshin. You’ve made my life worth living. I only wish it wasn’t over so soon…”
Kaioshin shifted her in his arms, causing her to wince in pain. “Sabrina…I love you…please don’t leave me now…”
“Kaioshin…” She brought her hand to his face. She felt his soft white hair in her bloodstained hands, and then brought it down to his cheek. He brought his hand to hers and kissed it. “Promise me Kaioshin…you won’t give up yet. Don’t blame yourself. There are others that will still need your help.”
“Sabrina…”
“But don’t forget me, okay?” She smiled, her eyes shedding their own tears. Soon, those tears stopped flowing…and her head grew heavy in Kaioshin’s arms. Her hand started slipping from his face.
“No…. Sabrina you can’t leave me like this…. don’t leave me here all alone…please…” Kaioshin brought her face up to his. He gently kissed her lips, hoping her eyes would open again. But they didn’t. He knew that she was dead, but he didn’t want to face the truth. The first person he loved now lay lifeless in his arms.
Kaioshin laid Sabrina down on the ground, lying himself down next to her. He held her hand, and closed his eyes. There was no point of going on now. He was badly wounded, blood coming from all over his body, his arm was broken, his body ached with pain; but most of all his heart ached. The one person he loved in his entire life was gone. And now he wanted to go too.
Kaioshin’s life flashed before him: his life as a god, the other Kaioshins, and then Sabrina. The love they shared for each other, and how they had to keep it a secret. The next thing he saw was Majin Buu and the mocking Bibidi. They had killed the greatest gods, in less than ten minutes. “Promise me Kaioshin…you won’t give up yet,” she told him. “There are others that will still need your help.”
Kaioshin opened his eyes. “Sabrina…I won’t let you down. I’ll avenge your death if it’s the last thing I do.” He pushed himself up, trying to ignore the immense pain that shot through his body. He looked over at the beautiful creature that lay next to him. “Good bye, my love.” He gave her one last kiss and then got to his feet. He didn’t turn back. He made it as far as the front yard when he saw someone running towards him. A large pink man with long white hair came up to him. Kaioshin looked at the man, hardly knowing who he was, but he could no longer hold himself up. He fell to the ground, and shortly after was healed back to full strength.
Many centuries passed, and Majin Buu was finally destroyed. Kaioshin had taken care of Bibidi long ago, and hoped that Buu would no longer pose a threat. However, after his revival by Bibidi’s son Babidi, Kaioshin started to lose all hope once again. Until he remembered the promise he made to Sabrina so long ago. Her words kept him going, until Buu was finally gone.
Now Kaioshin, though he had been through so many changes physically and emotionally, was finally able to put Sabrina to rest. The day Majin Buu was destroyed Kaioshin had gone to the lake on Kaioshin-kai by himself. He looked at his reflection in the water. He broke a half smile and a red rose appeared in his hand. He looked at it, kissed a petal, and gently tossed it into the water. He never forgot her, keeping her in his heart. No one ever knew about Sabrina, not even Kibito who had become Kaioshin’s best friend since the massacre on Kaioshin-kai. Sabrina now lives in his heart for eternity. And hopefully someday, they will be together again.
The End
