Daddy's Little Girl

The next morning Tyra slowly walked to the bus stop like she did every morning. She didn’t get in trouble the night before when she ran away. However, her brothers were sent to their room. Cell had taken her home and she had gone to bed. She was depressed from no one teaching her how to fly.
The school bus came into sight. Then Tyra had an idea. She hid behind a tree and waited. The bus slowed down, but then continued its route. Tyra started running home.
Seru had already left for school and Mikau had gone off to play. Lara was just getting in her car when Tyra sneaked her way to another tree to hide behind. When Lara drove off, Tyra ran over to her father, who watched the Mustang drive away.
“Tyra,” Cell said in surprise. “What are you doing her?”
“Daddy, teach me how to fly. Please, Daddy,” Tyra pleaded with big eyes.
“No Tyra. You should be in school. Your mother will have a fit if she finds out…”
“We won’t tell her. Daddy, please…this is all I’ll ever ask you for…”
It wasn’t until Tyra was born that he had grown so soft. After all, every daughter is Daddy’s little girl. He couldn’t help but give in. “All right. You know just what buttons to push, don’t you?”
Tyra started jumping up and down. “Thank-you, thank-you!”
“Alright, let’s go somewhere else. Just in case your mother forgets something and comes home. She’ll have my head.”
Cell flew Tyra to the same place where he had taught Seru how to fly and fight. He placed her down and she turned to him, waiting for directions.
Some time later, Tyra was able to get the hang of flying. Cell smiled as she flew circles around his head laughing. “Are you happy now?” He laughed.
“Oh yeah!” She landed on his shoulders and hugged his head. “I love you Daddy!”
“Brown noser,” Cell said. “Lets test your new ability. Lets see how fast you can fly to that mountain over there.”
Tyra didn’t wait for a signal. She took off as fast as she could. When she reached the mountain, Cell was already there waiting for her.
“No fair!” She yelled.
“What’s no fair?”
“You know you’re faster,” Tyra said with a sour puss.
“Of course I am.”
Tyra put on an evil grin. “But there’s something that I’m better at.”
Cell’s eyes became wide. “What’s that?”
She laughed quickly. “Rock, paper, scissors. I’m the champion.”
“Oh are you?”
They both started a short match of rock, paper, scissors. Finally, Cell put out paper, and Tyra put out scissors, winning the game. “See! I’m the best!”
Cell laughed. “Alright, I’ll give you that much. Let’s go home now. Everyone is probably home by now.”
When they arrived, Lara stood in the doorway with her arms crossed, and tapping her foot. “Well, well. I hope you two are ready for the earful you’re about to get.”
“What are you talking about?” Cell asked as he landed in front of her. He put Tyra down who tried to sneak into the house.
“Not so fast, young lady. You’re in a lot of trouble.” Lara unfolded her arms and put her hands on her hips. “I got a phone call in work today. The person wanted to know where Tyra Jenson was. ‘She’s in school’ I said. But the person told me she wasn’t. You skipped?”
“Umm…”Tyra looked at the ground.
“And I suppose you didn’t do anything about it,” she said turning to Cell.
“I told her you’d be mad…” Cell said.
“And that’s it? So you let her talk you out of it?” Lara said shaking her finger.
“Lara, it was only for one day. I mean, its not like she’s not going back.”
“Cell! You’re supposed to be her father! When are you going to act like one?”
“I’m sorry, Mommy…” Tyra said.
Lara sighed. “Well, I guess you’ll just have to go to your room. Don’t ever skip school again like that.”
“I won’t,” Tyra said and slowly walked away.
Lara watched her for a second, and then turned to Cell. She gave him a disgusted look, and turned her back. “You taught her how to fly, didn’t you?”
“What makes you think that?”
“Cell, don’t play dumb with me. If she just came home with you, then that tells me that you were teaching her how to fly.”
“You got me,” Cell said and put her hand on her shoulder. Lara took a step away and Cell’s hand slid off.
“You’re spoiling her, Cell.” Lara smiled to herself. “But that’s what every father does to their daughter.”
“Oh, so now you’re not mad at me.” He crossed his arms.
Lara turned to him, with her arms still crossed. “I can’t be mad at you…”
Cell grinned and pulled her against him. “I’m spoiled, too.”
“Oh yeah,” Lara said and kissed him.
