Sakura is your average hyper-active 4th grader. She lives with her older brother, Tory Avalon and her father, Aiden Avalon. Her mother passed away when she was 3 years of age. But Sakura feels that her mother is still with her and can't wait to be reunited with her once again someday. Sakura's best friend is Madison Taylor. They both attend Tomoeda Elementary School. Sakura's on a cheerleading team and enjoys taking part in various activities, it all comes natural to her. One day when she came home from school, she was hearing strange noises coming from her father's study or more like the basement that is his study. She came across a book called 'The Clow'. And that book changed her life since she released the seal, scattering what are called 'Clow Cards' all over the place. Out from the cover of the book came a small stuffed animal-like creature who called himself Kerberos, the Guardian Beast of the Seal. Sakura, without realizing it, had brought upon herself a long journey in retrieving all the Clow Cards she had released. She became the 'Card Captor', granted the powers of the key of Clow that transforms into a rod that she will use to capture cards with as well as call upon the cards to come to her aide... And now she must capture all the cards to bring back peace before the cards taint the world with mischief.
Later on Sakura meets Li, an exchange student from Hong Kong. At first things between them aren't that great, but in the end, they both find they love each other.
Other Tid-bits:
Sakura seems to fancy Julian, her brother's best friend. Throughout most of the series, Sakura would blush whenever near Julian, and would always be on her best behavior. But later on, her feelings are towards another character in the series...LI!!!!!
Another side of Sakura is that she fears ghosts. It's because when she was little Tory would be able to see them, and Sakura was frightened. So ever since then, she would get so creeped out about any mention of ghosts. In the beginning of the Japanese series, Sakura and her friends encounter a 'ghost' in the forest, which in the end, turned out to be the Illusion Card. Then, in a later episode, Sakura and Madison go into a cave (it was a class trip) to give a offering to a shrine and Sakura thought there was a ghost in the cave, but that turned out to be the Erase Card.
Sakura's thought to be very cute! Madison especially thinks so. Even class mates think so. They admire her for her ability to do things so well and perfectly. Sakura's a natural at the baton, which seems come in handy since the Sealing Wand is in the same shape.
