Okay, so I'm at Northwestern Books, and it's about 3:15, and I'm all pumped to get this debut CD. It is the premier date, so I'm thinking there's going to be at least one other person who wants to get this CD, so I get there first. But let me start at the beginning:
I wake up at, what, 11:00 am, and I remember that, *gasp* it's the premier date for the Phat Chance CD! I have to get it!
So I call the NW Books store, and they say they have copies (22 to be exact). And I'm thinking, oh no! I've gotta get there before they sell out!
So my father comes home, I bribe my brother and 2nd cousin to come with (she was visiting my bro), and we all hop in the car to get to the store.
We get there, and there are about 10 people in the store. Okay, this is a little fishy, I'm thinking. So I go back to the new releases area, and, no, it's not there. So I look in the pop-rock area, and no, it's not there either. So I go to the person, who asks me if I looked in those places, and I say yes, then she comes back there with me, and looks herself and, whoops, there aren't any. So she asks a CD area worker, and she says we couldn't find any, because they arent even out on display yet! What? Not on display? So we go to the back room, and I get one, (no one else had bought one, apparently) and we leave.
Let me ask you this: Why is it that such a good band would not have any buyers for their album?
I can proudly state that I am the only person in Minnesota to have purchased a Phat Chance CD on it's premier date!
