The desert wind blew softly through her hair as she walked slowly up the sand dunes of the desolate region. Her midnight black eyes watered as the gusts swept sand towards her delicate face. The scorching sun beamed down on her bare shoulders, silently boiling her skin to a red hue. Yet, still, Chi Chi walked on. No matter what pain this journey had brought her, one thing kept her feet from coming to a halt; Happiness. All she wanted was to be happy. She figured that was all anybody could ever want.

They had already collected three dragonballs, and to their surprise the task hadn't been as difficult as planned. Sure, they did come across barriers and delays, but sooner or later they got what they wanted. Now, they wandered through the desert in search of a fourth dragonball, in hope of finding anything that would give them a clue as to where it was.

------

Bulma walked silently beside Chi Chi, keeping her eyes fixated on the Dragon Radar. Chi Chi, on the other hand, desperately looked around for any sign of a bright orange colored object. The look of determination suddenly turned into disappointment as her eyes grew wearier by the minute.

"We'll find it, Chi Chi," Bulma spat out, obviously beginning to lose her patience. She still had her eyes on the radar, looking at it with a highly confused face.

"What? What happened to the radar, Bul?" Chi Chi could tell something was wrong. Bulma usually knew what she was doing, but they had been wandering the desert for an hour now and there was no sign of the dragonball. She also had noticed that the radar had stopped beeping and the lights had begun to dim on its face.

"Damnit!!!" She yelled at the top of her lungs. She shook the radar repeatedly and smacked it a couple of times, but nothing happened. It was really broken. "This stupid thing had to give out on us now! Its this damn wind!! All this dust is screwing up the transmission and there is nothing I can do about it! I can't stop the wind..."

------

The sound of Bulma's high pitched screams were heard a mile away. Two figures awoke from their lazy rest and looked around. They followed the sound they were hearing in pure curiosity as to what was going on.

------

"So... what you're saying is, we're screwed," Chi Chi concluded after Bulma's long, drawn out spiel.

"Precisely," Bulma replied in a matter of fact pose, "Now, the problem is that I'm not going to give up after we've come all this way. My heart is set on my goals and that is final! I know you probably agree with me on this one."

"Yeah. I'm not giving in so easy either. I know what I'm after." Chi Chi sat down on the sandy ground and motioned for Bulma to do the same. Little did they know that the two figures that had heard them from before were hiding just behind a sand dune out of their sight. They could hear everything that was going on which wasn't that odd since Bulma and Chi Chi had to scream at each other to project over the loud sounds of the wind.

"What we need to do is think," Bulma began, "Well... lets go through this step by step. We have three dragonballs," she reached into a small sack she had been carrying with her and pulled out the dragonballs. She continued, "The fourth one is located somewhere in this wasteland. Now, we need all seven to make our wish, which we are DEFINITELY going to make! Okay, if we wer-"

Chi Chi abruptly interrupted her, "Bul, we know all this already. What we have to focus on is fixing the radar."

"If you would of let me finish I would of gotten to that part!! Geez, Chi Chi, I know you're anxious to make your wish but so am I. We just have to think our problem out first before jumping into it like a couple of fools," Chi Chi made a face as Bulma continued to mutter on about what they should do, "Now, as I was saying..."

------

The two figure's eyes widened as they realized the power those balls possessed. They, too, wanted their wishes to come true and had a couple of plans for those girls. Finally, one of them spoke, "Yamcha! Did you hear what they said? If we had seven of those things we could make a wish!!" The speaker was a small creature, probably somewhere in the feline family. The only odd thing was he could fly... or float to be exact. His voice had a high pitch to it as well.

A large smile appeared on Yamcha's face as he thought about the only thing he wanted, 'I could get rid of my fear of girls!' He turned to his companion and replied, "Puar, go down there and snatch that radar and those balls from them!"

"Me?" a frightened look popped up on Puar's face as he glanced over at the girls, "Why do I have to go? You're the one who wants to make the wish... and besides, I can't carry all of those balls and that radar thing. Its too much. You do it."

"But... Puar. Those are girls," a look of horror appeared on Yamcha's face, "You know I'm afraid."

"No Yamcha. You're going to have to face your fears this time. Besides, all you have to do is run over there, grab the stuff, and run back to our hideout. Okay?"

"Fine.."

------

"And furthermore," Bulma concluded, "the wind will stop blowing and the radar will work!"

Chi Chi raised one of her eyebrows slightly, then lowered it to make a confused face. Bulma's plan seemed a little crazy and she wasn't sure if it was going to work. "Bul... are you sure this is going to work? It sounds a little... umm... farfetched. Well, I mean... How are you going to get the wind to stop blowing?"

"Details, details. We'll work out the kinks later. Now, lets just set up camp now since its beginning to get dark," Bulma placed the dragonballs and the radar back in her sack and threw it on the ground next to her. She reached into her pocket and pulled out her capsule case. Finding the right one, she threw the capsule on the ground and a little house appeared in its place. "All right, lets get some sleep and worry about this in the morning."

Bulma and Chi Chi began to walk towards the door when they heard something coming their way. They turned towards the noise and noticed a tall tan figure with jet black hair was running towards them. Bulma realized she left the sack the dragonballs were in on the ground and screamed for Chi Chi to get them.

Chi Chi ran towards the bag in a race with the other person. She dove for the sack but missed it nearly as the young man's hand grabbed it and began to dash away. "Bulma!!" Chi Chi yelled, "Hurry!! Get him!"

Bulma, powered by her own ambition to chase down this man and stop him, sprinted after him faster than she had ever ran before. Nothing is faster than a woman with a goal. The man struggled to run fast, but was no match for Bulma's angry speed. She leaped into the air and landed right on top of him, causing the bag to be thrown from his hands. She turned him over to face her, still lying directly over him. "Gotcha," she managed to mutter as she gasped for breath. He, too, was panting from exhaustion.

The young man, Yamcha, became beet red when he realized there was a girl right on top of him. His color flourished even more when he discovered she was beautiful. His frightened expression caused Bulma to blush as well and the two just looked into each other's eyes for a while. Surprisingly, Yamcha didn't try too hard to escape, and Bulma didn't budge from the inappropriate position she was in, either.

Chi Chi ran towards them and grabbed the bag. "Nice job, Bulma!" she cheered, " I didn't know you could run that fast! Thank Kami you caught him or-" she stopped when she realized that Bulma hadn't even heard a word she said. Her thoughts were fixated on the boy who was beneath her. It was as if she didn't care that the Dragonballs were safe... she was just happy that she caught the boy.

Chi Chi sighed sadly and walked towards the capsule pop-up house. She had lost Bulma, and knew that after that night, Bulma wouldn't need to find the rest of the balls. She had found her man of the moment. A single tear fell from Chi Chi's cheek when she realized that she may have to pursue this mission alone. That didn't matter now though. She'd worry about it in the morning. Right now, all she needed was sleep.

AN- I know this took a while, but, I guess writing fanfiction isn't on the top of my to do list. I wasn't sure if Puar was a girl or a boy... but, I made him a boy. I think he actually is a girl but hes a boy here ^^' And.. I think this chapters length was a little shorter. Sorry about that. Anyways, I hope I'll do the next chapter soon... which means.. in a while. Byebye (PS. Romance? Hmm... not today)
