Crime Does Pay
"Hiro-koi!" Kasumi shouted out to Hiroshi above the rumbling of her motorcycle.
"Kasumi!" he exclaimed and jogged over to her from the apartment building. "You're early."
"I decided to dully surprise you," she replied with a bit of sarcasm.
"Well, I guess it worked."
"Get on," she said and Hiroshi sat behind her. She tossed him an extra helmet.
"So I finally find out you have a motorcycle," he said as he strapped on the helmet. "When did you get this?"
"I've had it for five years, but I never drive it on dates. Guys never seem to like it. Hope you don't mind; I'm taking you someplace different," she said. She spun around and sped off down the street.
*
Kasumi silently picked at her food. It was taking quite a while for Hiroshi to get his wallet...
--
"Get down!"
Several screams from customers were let out and everybody shakily dropped to the floor, their hands over their heads protectively. The masked man held up his gun against the clerk's head and he raised his left arm that held a pikachu. "Leon, get all the cash."
The pikachu jumped off of his arm and forced open the cash register with its teeth. It picked up the money and trotted back to the man. He grabbed it and tucked it under his trench coat.
"Please don't shoot," said the clerk, stuttering over her words.
The man trudged out the door, turning away with his pikachu trailing behind. He silently turned around to the back of the shop and pulled off his mask, letting his ruffled black hair show and he smoothed it out. He pulled of his coat, taking out the money and stuffing it into his wallet. He threw the gun on top of the coat, wrapping it up and he placed it next to a few old cardboard boxes. He'd pick it up later.
"Good job, Leon," he said, and returned the pikachu in its monster ball. Hiroshi smoothly walked down the sidewalk while stuffing his gloves into his back pocket went and into the restaurant.
--
"What took you so long?" asked Kasumi as he sat down across from her.
"It was dropped quite a ways from here," he replied.
She nodded.
He looked down at his food. "So what were we talking about before?" he asked as he started to raid his plate.
"Well, there was this murder only a few blocks away from my house. A shot woman. My sisters got kind of shaken up by it," she said. "So was I."
"Murder, huh?" said Hiroshi. "I can't believe people would kill for almost no reason. Who would do such a thing?"
Kasumi paused for a moment and glanced at her hands. "I have no idea." She took a last sip of water. "Are you done?"
He nodded, still swallowing. "I'll pay," he said. He took out his wallet.
The huge chunk of money stuck out slightly, and he quickly shoved it back in.
"Somebody's loaded," she said. "Where did all that come from? I thought you were still looking for a job."
"I umm... found one," he lied.
"Really? As what?"
"Just some... clerk at a little shop," he replied.
"I didn't know they paid that much."
"Oh, they pay a lot."
*
Hiroshi looked down through the clear glass. Silver, gold, diamonds... motorcycles. No, he had to get that out of his head. Then again, would Kasumi actually want jewelry? He never saw her wearing any. But he still wanted to get her something nice.
He spotted one necklace. It sparkled under the lights and a small pearl with crystals framed around it was placed on top of it. Gold was laced all around, end to end.
No. He couldn't picture her with it. It didn't look right. Maybe jewelry wasn't the right choice.
"Can I help you, sir?" asked the clerk.
Hiroshi looked up at him. "I'm looking for something for my girlfriend."
The clerk rubbed his chin thoughtfully, then picked up the necklace Hiroshi had been looking at. "Perhaps this might interest her?"
"No... I'm not looking for jewelry like that. Is there anything else around here?"
He walked over to the other side of the room and Hiroshi followed. He held out a watch, plated with gold and two diamonds on either side of the face.
"Here's a charming watch. It's on sale," said the clerk.
Hiroshi examined it for a second. Kasumi would probably like that. "How much is it?"
"About 90,000 ¥," he replied.
"Nani?!" Hiroshi exclaimed in his head, "If that thing's on sale, what's the original price?!"
"So how about it?" asked the clerk.
"Umm..." Hiroshi stuttered and straightened his yellow jacket a little. "I'll... I'll think about it."
"Sure thing, I'll hold it for you," he said.
Hiroshi walked out the door and got in his car. He started the engine, letting it run for a moment and he reached into the back seat to get out his supplies.

Kasumi waited in line patiently. Her Togechiiku was starting to fall asleep on her shoulder. Bank lines seemed to be the longest, and the slowest. She hated this so much... She usually had to go to the bathroom right before it was her turn, or she'd get so bored to death she would just leave and go later.
'Only half way through...
Be patient, Kasumi...
Just a few more minutes and then you can deposit the money...
Or deposit your fist in the banker's face...'
--
Hiroshi placed the bomb on the door of the safe, watching the guards out of the corner of his eye. He quietly crawled up one of the vents.
One officer turned around, looking up at the vent, but saw nothing. He looked down at the safe, and noticed the small bundle of explosives firmly attached to the safe.
"You guys..." he said, starting to stutter.
"What?" asked another.
"B-bomb..." he replied, his voice cracking and he pointed at it with a shaking arm.
Suddenly, a pikachu jumped down from the vent and onto the man's head.
"Wha-what's on my head?! Get it off!" he shouted in a panic, waving at the small mouse.
One more officer started to swat at his head and it jumped onto her own.
--
An explosion roared throughout one side of the bank. Fire burst out of the shattering windows and the ground shook, overthrowing everybody walking down the street.
Hiroshi crashed in through the vent and into the main room of the bank.
"Everybody down!" he shouted.
Those who weren't escaping the building got down on their hands and knees, their eyes clenched in fright.
Hiroshi fired his gun randomly against the walls as a warning and ran to the counter. Leon jumped out of the vent after him, holding a bag of money in its teeth. It let go of it and trotted to Hiroshi.
"You," he ordered at the man. "All your cash!"
Hiroshi was suddenly hit in the back of his head and he fell to the floor, almost landing on top of somebody. He adjusted the mask pulled over his head and looked up, seeing Kasumi with her purse dangling from her outstretched arms.
"Kasumi?!" he exclaimed.
Kasumi gave a look of surprise. "How do you-?"
"Not now!" he shouted and slapped his hand over her mouth.
A piece of the charred ceiling started to break off and he picked her up. He ran out the side door with her, Leon following close behind and the togechiiku furiously pecked at his head.
Kasumi squirmed and struggled as the masked criminal carried her over a wooden fence behind the bank. Oh how she hated being held like this... But he saved her from that big chunk of drywall, right? Then again, he was still kidnapping her, and that was something she couldn't let this man do. She shoved her elbow into his face and he dropped her with a shout. She reached inside her jacket and held out a gun, aiming it at him.
"Don't even move!" she shouted. "I've killed before and I won't be afraid to kill you."
"Kasu-san, no, wait!" he shouted, holding his gloved hand up in the air at the gun.
Kasumi's face twitched a little in disturbance. She knelt down. "Who are you anyway?"
She pulled off his mask and Hiroshi's worn out face hung over, coughing and breathing hard. She gasped and dropped her gun on the floor.
"Hiroshi?!"
Hiroshi shook his head a little, and the togechiiku fluttered off his shoulder and began squawking at him as hard as it was pecking.
"You were robbing the bank?"
"You've killed before? So you were the one who caused that murder?"
Several police officers jumped over the wooden fence, shouting at the two.
"Police!" they both shouted at the same time.
"Togechiiku, sora wo tobu!" ordered Kasumi.
Her togechiiku quickly grew into a larger size and it flattened its wings. Kasumi and Hiroshi climbed on as the police neared towards them. They took off, the fairy-like monster flapping its wings furiously through the air and they flew away as bullets were shot passed them.
"Oh no..." whined Kasumi as she steered Togechiiku higher in the air.
"What is it?" said Hiroshi quickly, and he looked down behind him as the bunches of police cars and fire trucks neared the bank. He held Leon tighter, worried it could fall off down below.
"I left my motorcycle down there," she replied and growled under her breath.
"We can't just go down and get it back!"
"Oh, yes we can," she said with determination in her voice and she steered them in the opposite direction, back at the bank.
"You can buy another one! Damn it, I'll steal another one for you if you want! Don't just plunge us down into a street full of police and firemen!" Hiroshi shouted.
She ignored him and they continued the flight down to the bank. They neared towards the surface of the street and she jumped onto her motorcycle, leaving Hiroshi up on Togechiiku.
"What are you doing?!" he shouted.
Kasumi turned up her engine as a crowd of policemen rushed towards her.
"Don't worry, Togechiiku will take you back at my house! I'll meet you there!"
"But, Kasumi-!"
"Just hang on tight to it! Bai-bai!"
The togechiiku had flown away already and Kasumi sped off, twisting and turning through the masses of people. As she tumbled out of the crowd, she could hear the sirens of police cars behind her.
--
Hiroshi looked down below him. They were up pretty high, and they seemed to be surrounded by the mid-afternoon clouds. He glanced at the togechiiku's head.
"Umm..." he stuttered.
"Touuu," it squawked.
"Y-you can understand me, can't you?" asked Hiroshi cautiously.
It flew up higher and made a swift turn around a wisp of clouds. It nodded faintly and looked at Hiroshi with its large, soft eyes.
"So then... you're taking me to Kasumi's home?" he asked.
It nodded again with another low chirp.
"Can you... can you try not to.. let anybody see us going there?"
It kept silent as it turned east and the sun shone behind them.
"I guess Kasumi already trained you to do that anyway, didn't she?" Hiroshi sighed deeply and blinked slowly, still looking down at the layers of sparkling clouds below them. He looked down at Leon, who sat tensely in front of him with its ears flattened down. "I never thought I'd say something like that. I don't think I even expected to start talking to a pokemon that wasn't even mine."
It made another squawk and almost seemed to laugh at his statement. It steered itself down through the low layer of clouds and Hiroshi could feel his hair and skin moisten with small droplets of water that clung onto him.
He could see the streets below him, and Kasumi's rooftop was in plain sight.
"Pika!" said Leon and it pointed its jagged tail down below.
Hiroshi then saw Kasumi riding the motorcycle down the road with two other police cars trailing behind her. The sound of gunshots, sirens, and the screeching of tires against the asphalt echoed around as Kasumi quickly turned around the corner.
--
"They can't chase me forever," said Kasumi to herself. She skidded around again, turning the opposite way and she faced the two cars. "and I can't be chased forever either."
She passed in between the cars and rode her motorcycle onto the sidewalk and behind her house. She jumped off onto the ground and took out a monster ball. She threw it silently and it opened, releasing a gyaradosu. It towered above the house
"Out in the street, Gyaradosu! Get them!" she ordered.
It flew down the side of her house and into the street. She walked to the corner of the house, seeing a car door fly off and crash on the sidewalk. She heard a cackling roar from the gyaradosu and it flew back, its scales ruffled on its edge in excitement.
"Arigatou!" said Kasumi and smiled. She let it back in the monster ball and ran back to her backyard as Hiroshi and Togechiiku landed on the grass.
"Kasumi!" he shouted.
Togechiiku lowered itself and Hiroshi slid off of it onto the ground. It shrunk back down to its original size and made a chirp as it flew onto Kasumi's shoulder. She bent down slightly and hugged him tightly.
"Nice ride?" she asked, resting her head on his shoulder.
He looked up at her, grinning and nodding.
"You're not mad at me?" he asked. Kasumi let go of him, getting a confused look on her face. "For setting the bomb off where you were."
"I beat you up and surprised the hell out of you, Hiro-koi," she said and knocked at his chin playfully. "We're even."
"You have some explaining to do."
Kasumi crossed her arms. "Really? What about you? You're the one who robbed the bank!"
"You're the one who murdered that woman!"
"You're the one who set off the bomb!"
"Well, you have a motorcycle!"
-End
I must have gone through four different endings before this one. Geeze, this is probably one of the stupider fics here.
