I have not seen the series yet but I plan on soon. There are 26 episodes and 4 main characters. As far as I know BGC 2040 is a good series over all.
This is a remake of the classic cyperpunk Anime released in the late 80's, Bubblegum Crisis. Almost every single Anime fan out there knows about Bubblegum Crisis and how it started out the whole cyberpunk craze in those days. This remake is a retelling of the Knight Sabers story, and is not a continuation of the earlier series, which was set in 2033. Some of the characters received major facelifts while others have remained the same. One aspect many fans are heavily debating is the use of music in this new series. The original had a hot soundtrack and was one of the first shows to ever successfully blend Anime and pop music together. While the new music of BBC 2040 may not ever match the intensity of the older album(s), it is good enough to warrant a second or third look.
Everyone should already know about the infamous Knight Sabers and the AD Police by now, and if you don't, then shame on you! One of the classic and most loved Anime out there, the show focuses on a mercenary group of females called the Knight Sabers. They use prototype armor called hardsuits to battle with Boomers, the main villains in the show. The AD Police are the supporting cast of characters who try to stop both the Boomers and Knight Sabers before they tear Tokyo apart. Priss, a member of the Knight Sabers, is one of the most well known female Anime characters in history.
