You're Not Alone
Chapter 17
Trunks sighed softly. ~ Pan, you have to listen to me. You can do
it, you are stronger than she is. You need to ascend to the next level! Just
find your power inside yourself. ~
~ But Trunks, I tried... it's not there anymore. And... I... I can't win...~
Before Trunks could answer, Pan felt Kiara's sword slash across her arm. Pan
screamed out in pain, jumping back and shooting a ki blast at Kiara. The small
blast threw Kiara back into the wall. Pan slid to the ground into exhaustion,
that one move taking up all of her energy.
~*~
Bra watched horrified as Kiara stalked up to Pan, furious. "That's it, wench,
I'm finished playing with you. I'm going to kill you."
Trunks nearly jumped out of his seat. ~ Pan! Pan! Listen to me! The elixir, take
it out of your pocket! Drink it!! ~
~*~
Pan pressed a specific button on the utility belt and pulled out a small bottle
filled with a pink liquid. She pulled the top out and lifted it to her mouth.
Just before the pink drink touched her delicate lips, Kiara snatched it from her
hands. "Hmm... what's this? An elixir? Trying to cheat are we?" she said,
swirling the liquid around in it's container. "Well, no use wasting it, right?"
she said, smirking. Pan's eyes grew wide as she realized what she meant. Before
she could do anything, Kiara drained the glass.
Flexing her muscles, she nodded approvingly. "It works well..." she said,
enjoying the horrified look on Pan's face. Jumping back, she began to power up.
"Now I think it's time I finish you off, wench." She said, light beginning to
emit from her hands.
Pan stood up and held her hands out to block the blast when it came. She was not
going to die a slave, she was going to die a warrior.
The ki blast forming in Kiara's hands was fairly large now, and she held her
hands forward, ready to release it. "I hope you like hell."
Pan sneered at her opponent. "I'll see you there, bitch."
With a yell, the powerful blast launched from her hands, aimed directly at Pan.
Pan braced herself for the impact.
The crowd looked on as the blast exploded, creating a huge cloud, whipping sand
and dust all over. Kiara shielded her eyes from the power of it.
As the cloud began to clear, Kiara squinted into it to see how much was left of
Pan. What she saw shocked her beyond belief.
"Trunks?!"
Trunks stood in front of Pan, his arms extended in the position to black a
blast. Pan stood behind him, staring at him in disbelief. Trunks' face was stone
cold, glaring down the field at Kiara. His hair was shining gold, and his eyes
were a deep green. "Trunks?"
Trunks' cold feature immediately dropped as he turned to look at Pan. He looked
her over with worried eyes. "Are you hurt?" Pan smiled weakly and shook her head
no. The crowd gasped as he pulled her into a tight embrace. Tears began to sting
the back of his eyes. ~ I thought you were going to die...~
She chuckled into his armor. ~ I thought the same thing...~
Kiara narrowed her eyes at the scene before her. She turned around and called up
to the balcony where the royalty was. "Your majesty! It is against the rules for
anyone to interfere with the battle!!"
~*~
Vegeta nodded slowly, completely shocked that Trunks had done that. He had just
defied his father's own law to save a slave. Well, a slave that he obviously
loved dearly, or he wouldn't have just hugged her in front of all these people.
He hid it well, though and bellowed, "Trunks! You know that was against the
rules. Get out of the arena!"
~*~
Trunks squeezed Pan tighter, wishing he didn't have to let go. Sighing deeply,
he let go of her slowly. Still holding her hand, he looked deep into her
obsidian eyes. ~ I love you, Pan. ~ She let a solitary tear roll down her cheek
as he turned to walk back to his chair. She held onto his hand, whispering, "I
wish you could stay..."
He looked back before walking to his chair. ~ I do, too, Pan. ~ She turned to
Kiara, pulling energy from inside her, or what was left of it. She powered up as
much as she could and took a deep breath. She jumped off the ground and flew at
Kiara, and, using as much strength as she could muster, kicked her in the
stomach.
Kiara flew back into the stands as Pan gasped for breath. It created a huge
explosion as rocks flew everywhere. It took a while before Kiara pulled out of
the rubble and jumped back into the battlefield. She clutched her stomach, and
there were specks of blood on her arms and legs, where the rocks had smashed
into her.
Seeing Pan gasp for breath for one attack, she smirked, trying not to show her
own weariness. "So, tired already, are we?"
Pan looked up. "NO!!!" she screamed, drawing her sword and attacking her. Kiara
was surprised by her sudden movement and tried to jump out of the way, getting a
large gash in her leg. "You... BITCH!!"
Kiara jabbed her elbow into Pan's side and threw her into the center of the
battlefield. Pan grunted as she hit the floor and lay there like a rag doll.
"I... I can't win..." she whispered. "That one energy blast caught me off guard
and took away so much energy... I'll never win at this rate..."
Kiara hovered over her prey. "Pan, I would like you to know, before I kill you,
I am going to let you have the pleasure of watching your mother die."
Pan's eyes shot open and she struggled to get to her feet, finding she could
not. "No! You can't... do that...." she rasped out.
Kiara loved seeing Pan in such a mangled state, and decided to play with it
before she killed her. "Folcron, please execute Son Videl." She said.
~*~
Bulma grabbed Vegeta's hand and squeezed it tightly. "You aren't going to let
her do that, will you?!!"
Vegeta looked at Pan's reaction closely and shook his head. "No... as strange as
this might sound, woman, this could be a good thing, in Pan's favor."
Bulma looked at her mate as if he was crazy. "What?!"
He looked on calmly. "Just watch, woman." She sadly turned her head to face the
battle.
Trunks heard his father's conversation and looked at the battle curiously. "What
is he thinking.... Wait a minute! I know!"
~*~
~ Pan! Pan! ~
Pan heard him and let a tear fall down her face. ~ My mother, Trunks, she's
going to kill my mother!! ~
~ I know, Pan! Pan, look... you need to harness your anger and hate for Kiara
and convert it to energy! ~
~ WHAT? ~
~ Look at what Kiara's about to do! She's going to kill your mother! Your
MOTHER. Your ONLY mother, the only one you'll ever get. Think of what she's done
to you and your mother for the past years. She's chastised you, whipped you,
made fun of you. What about your friends? What has she done to them? Has she
whipped them, too? I'm sure she doesn't even care about it. What do you think
about her being Queen? Do you think she's going to let all of the slaves go? I'm
sure she mentioned some other things she was going to do when she became Queen,
did she not? ~
Pan sat there, soaking it all in. He was right. She did hurt her friends, she
did hurt her only family, she did say she was going to do something to the
slaves. It wasn't let them go, it was more of a kill situation. And she said
that she was going to use Trunks to get a son and then... and then...
Trunks felt horror, anger, and panic fly through his mind. ::Pan must have
thought about what I said... this might work after all...::
"No..." she whispered, anger burning in her eyes. "No!" she said, louder as her
anger rose, along with her ki.
Kiara stepped back, surprised at the sudden fluctuation in Pan's ki. Folcron
stepped back and stared at Pan, lowering his sword and forgetting his order.
"NO!!" she screamed, standing up. "I won't let you kill them, Kiara, I WON'T! I
will NOT stand by and let you kill the two people that mean the world to me!"
she screamed. Her aurora began to spark and sizzle as her anger grew. Deep
inside of her, a tiny, hidden door was opened as she stood up, her anger and
hate for Kiara transforming into her power. Her dread for what might happen to
her family, her loved ones pushed her forward, opened the door, fed her
adrenaline. Winds began to pick up around the stadium as she opened her eyes.
They glowed red as she screamed, releasing her energy. "NOOO!!!"
The force of her energy blew Kiara backwards, hurtling towards the stands. Pan's
body let off enormous amounts of light, blinding everyone close to her. Her
aurora seemed to explode, and bolts of electricity shot out in every direction.
With a tremendous boom, the arena exploded, sending rocks and debris everywhere,
and creating a huge cloud of dust.
Kiara slowly picked herself up, some of her armor cracked and her spandex torn
in many places. She stood up wearily and looked to the cloud of dust, a scowl on
her face.
The cloud began to part, revealing Pan, her eyes completely shut, her head down.
Her body glowed and her hair was brighter. It seemed to flow downwards a little
more than before, the clumps of hair now thinner and smoother. Her eyes shot
open to reveal her glowing red eyes. The red in her eyes were slowly replaced by
green as she walked towards Kiara.
Kiara was too shocked to say a word as she saw Pan approach her. Before Pan
could do anything, a scream was heard to the left of her. Spinning around, Pan
looked at her mother, who was held in a headlock, a sword pressed against her
throat. Folcron was grinned evilly. "Well, slave. Do you want your mother to
live or not? If you do, then you will digress from super saiyan and turn
yourself over to Kiara. Unless, of course, you want to see your mother die in
front of you."
Pan scowled at the cowardly man. "You do not believe in your master's ability to
win, and you fear for your own life if she looses and you are declared traitor.
So, like all cowards, you find a weak hostage who means something to the enemy
and try to make a trade with them? Pathetic." She said. She drew her sword, her
expression deepening. "If one drop of her blood falls to the ground, yours will
pour freely, my friend."
Folcron frowned. "You think I lie? Watch this!" he said, attempting to slice her
neck. Pan was there in seconds and held his hand.
He looked up at her in fear as she gripped his hand tightly. "No, I believe it
is you who thinks I am the one lying." She said, pointing to the small trickle
of blood falling from Videl's shoulder. When Folcron had pulled the dagger back
to slit her throat, he had accidentally cut her shoulder. "And I am not."
She threw him off her mother and powered up. While he was still in mid air, she
blasted him into the next dimension.
Everyone stared at her in awe, amazement and fear, including Kiara.
Pan stepped back into the ring and faced Kiara. Kiara forced a smirk, and said,
confidently, "Ha! You think that stupid transformation is going to do anything?
You're wrong. Folcron was just a weakling. You are no match for me, just as we
established in the last match!"
Pan popped her knuckles and motioned to Kiara. "All right, then, hit me."
Kiara powered up and flew at Pan, her fist extended. "Try and block this!" She
said, aiming a punch for her head. At the last second, she appeared behind Pan
and slammed her foot into her back, making direct contact. "Huh. You thought you
could beat me?"
Pan turned around and faced Kiara, her face showing no emotion. "You might have
hit me, but who said it hurt, weakling?"
Bursting with fury, Kiara attacked her, her fists flying into her face, each one
hitting her hard. Pan didn't move, as if Kiara was hitting a brick wall. Kiara
wound back and launched her foot forward at her opponent's head. Pan lifted her
arm up and caught the foot a little too easily for Kiara's liking. "Is that all
you've got? You're doing pretty bad against a wench, don't you think?"
With a yell of frustration, Kiara powered up and threw a huge energy disk at
Pan. Pan closed her eyes and the disk went straight through her as if she was
air. Kiara stared at Pan as if she was some alien. "What?!"
Pan smirked. "Now it's my turn." She flew at Kiara, who braced for the attack,
but in seconds, she wasn't there anymore. Kiara looked around frantically for
Pan, and felt a tap on her shoulder. She spun around to see nothing but air.
A kick in her back sent her flying forward into the bleachers. Mustering up all
of her power, she was able to stop herself and shot back towards Pan. "I will
not loose!" she screamed.
Her punch went through air as she heard a voice behind her. "Are you sure about
that? I believe you already are."
Kiara snarled at her words. "You'll pay for that when I kill you, bitch."
"Well I have news for you, you're not going to kill me, it will be the other way
around. Welcome to the end of your life, and I promise it's going to hurt."
Kiara took a sharp intake of breath as she felt burning pain sear up her back as
an energy blast was pressed into her back, shooting her up wards.
Pan was ahead of her in seconds, and Pan caught her in the air. In a low voice
so only Kiara could hear, she said, "Now I am going to do to you what you have
done to so many others, I am going to relieve them their burden and finish you
off. I hope you enjoy hell."
Kiara snorted, saying, "Fuck you, bitch." (sorry for the language...O.o)
Pan punched Kiara into the ground and began to power up, her aurora sizzling and
flashing. She brought her hands back, using her grandfather's best attack.
"Ka....me...." she began, light emitting from her hands. ".....ha.....me....."
The energy blast got brighter and light shot through her fingers. With a leap of
power, she yelled, "HA!!!", deploying the large ki blast straight at Kiara.
Before the blast reached her, Kiara said, "It's not over! Tanku li--" All that
could be heard was Kiara's muffled scream as she transferred from the mortal
world.
Pan smirked, lowering to the ground. The crowd burst into cheers, standing on
their feet, chanting, "Hail Queen Pan! Queen of Saiyans!" The soldiers on guard
had to keep the many people from spilling out of the stands.
Pan digressed from super saiyan and smiled at her new fiancé. Trunks flew out of
the stands and ran over to Pan, embracing her tightly. "I knew you could do
it..."
A tear slid down Pan's face. "I did it for you, Trunks... for you..."
Just then a small child broke out of the crowd and ran into the ring. Two guards
chased after her as she reached Pan. Pan pulled out of Trunks' hug and looked
down at the little girl. She had dirty brown hair which had specks of mud in it,
showing that she did not shower very much. Her large blue eyes looked up at Pan
happily, and her scratched face held a wide smile. She wore a raggedy black
dress with a white tie around her waist. She reached out her hand and tugged on
Pan's arm. She looked no more than seven. "Miss Panny..."
The two guards grabbed her arms and began to drag her back. "I'm sorry ma'am,
we'll take care of this."
The little girl's face fell as she was dragged away, her tiny hands reaching out
towards Pan as if she were the only thing left in the world. Pan felt something
tug at her from deep inside her. ::This child is a slave, like I was...:: Pan
held her hand out to the guards. "No, let the child go."
The little girl's face lit up and she ran over to Pan, hugging her tightly. Pan
smiled down at the child. The little girl pulled out of the hug and looked up at
Pan, her blue eyes shining. "Miss Panny... you... you are so cool, to be a slave
just like me and be so strong! You're my hero! When I grow up, I want to be as
strong as you and fight just like you do!" she said, her sweet young voice
slightly scratchy from working so much.
Pan beamed down at the girl. "Thank you, sweetie. What is your name?"
Her foot made circles in the sand as she bent her head down, embarrassed to be
asked such a question by her new favorite person. "My... my name is Areina."
Pan smiled at Areina. "You really want to be like me? Do you like martial arts?"
Areina nodded, jumping up and down. "I love it! I do it whenever I can!"
Pan looked up at Trunks. ~ She's just like me... Do you think I could take her
under me as my apprentice? ~
Trunks thought a moment. ~ I don't see how that would be a problem... sure. ~
Pan bent down so she was eye level with the girl. "How would you like to be my
first student?"
"Me? I'd LOVE that!!" she cried, clinging to Pan.
Pan turned to Goten and said, "Goten, please take Areina to the castle and pick
out a room for her." Turning back to Areina, she said, "Does your family want to
come?"
She looked down, a sad expression on her face. "I don't have a family, I'm an
orphan." She said quietly.
Pan smiled. "Well, from now on, we are your family, and you will live in the
castle as if you are royalty."
Areina smiled and skipped off with Goten, of course, not without a huge hug.
Pan turned back to Trunks. "Come on, let's go back to the castle."
Trunks smiled. "Not to the castle, my love, to our home." He said, grasping her
hand tightly.
Pan nodded, and they took off towards the castle, hand in hand.
