The infamous Al Bhed are some of the natives of Spira. They are renowned for excavating ancient ruins and restoring machina. Because of this, it is said that they have renounced Yevon and are shunned by many people throughout Spira.
Years ago their home island was destroyed and they have managed to build a new Home. However, the Guado destroyed this home and they are now looking to build a new Home when Yuna's Calm comes. Because of this, they spend most of their time living on ships, or in Cid's case an Airship.
The Al Bhed all have swirlly green eyes. In order to try and hide their identities from Al Bhed haters, they wear goggles.
