Genki is a boy who lives somewhere in Japan, probably Tokyo. He entered the Monster Tournament in the real world and won using a Pink Susezo. All during school he daydreamed of living in the Monster World and when he got home he hurried to find the Monster 200X game in his mailbox.
He plays the game and helps Holly as she escapes from some baddies with a mystery disk. When she unlocks the Disk, Genki is pulled into the Monster World. Genki then decides to help Holly and Suezo and they work together to find the Mystery Disk with the Phoenix.
The Monster 200X game ends up in the Monster World with Genki and he uses it to get his very first monster, Mocchi.
Genki is a courageous and cheerful boy. He is determined and will never give up easily. Mocchi and him are close friends and always stick together. Genki is a great rollerblader and he uses this as his main attack. However he likes to show off on them which can cause a bit of trouble.
He knows how to cheer people up by being silly but knows when to be serious. He is the natural leader and often guides the group. Genki seems to like it in the Monster world, more than in his world, but when he dreamt about being back home, he got all upset.
