Battle Angel is an anime about a place where the land is a dumping ground for waste from a man made island floating in the sky.
Ido, a doctor who formorly lived on that island finds spare parts in the large trash heaps and as he looks, he finds a living being, he names her Alita (in the Anime her name is Gally and in the Manga her name is Alita). He wishes to make something beautiful out of her, he gives her a body that is nearly indistructable.
She hears about mysterious disappearances of women and at night Ido leaves for a long time and then comes back with injuries. Is Ido the brain stealer? Does he steal parts of others to use as spare parts? These questions can be answered in Battle Angel the anime or Gunnm, Battle Angel Alita
