Rock of Ages

Will you be my Rock of Ages?

All through the turning pages.

My soul is flying high now,

But I can’t fly alone.

Will you catch me when I’m falling?

Move me when I’m stalling?

Help our love be greater

Than it’s ever been before.

Am I all that I can be?

I gaze into infinity.

But the answers just aren’t coming.

And I don’t know what I see.

Then the answers all flash by too fast,

One moment then they’re in the past,

But still I keep on praying,

For some answers meant for me.

So will you be my Rock of Ages?

All through the turning pages.

My soul is flying high now,

But I can’t fly alone.

Will you catch me when I’m falling?

Move me when I’m stalling?

Help our love be greater

Than it’s ever been before.

I reach for your outstretched hand,

To lead me to another land.

And a night beneath the starlight,

Or a day upon the sand.

But then I feel my faltering grasp,

Slip out of your soft hand’s clasp.

And your gentle words of love

Are all drowned out by the band.

So will you be my Rock of Ages?

All through the turning pages.

My soul is flying high now,

But I can’t fly alone.

Will you catch me when I’m falling?

Move me when I’m stalling?

Help our love be greater

Than it’s ever been before.
