Dwayne walked into the Heroes & Fantasies, a comic store in nearby Universal City. He had scrounged around what change he had to see if he couldn't by a comic. His real reason for showing up was that he heard Richard was here. Dwayne needed to talk to him about something.
"Can I help you?" the manager asked, a bearded man that looked to be in his fifties. He seemed to be a little taller than Dwayne.
"I'm just looking for someone," Dwayne replied. Then, Dwayne noticed a crowd of people in the back room of the store. "What's going on in there?"
"A Yu Gi Oh! tournament. I think they're in the final round. I wouldn't know, though. I only run the Magic tournaments," the manager said.
"A Yu Gi Oh! tournament? Of course he'd be there," Dwayne said. "Thanks."
"No problem," the manager said.
Dwayne walked back to the back room, looking through an aisle of comic books on the way. He finally looked up as he got to the crowd. He tried to look over to see what was going on. He finally got somewhat of a view between shoulders. He noticed Richard sitting at a table with another kid sitting across from him. Both were playing a game of Yu Gi Oh! and the entire crowd was gathered around the table to watch the game in process.
"Who's winning?" Dwayne asked a random spectator.
"It's 1-1 in the best of 3. But it appears that Kyle has Richard on the run. Kyle has a Blue-Eyes equipped with Fairy's Meteor Crush on it...and all Richard can do at this point is throw out defense monsters, not that the position matters," the guy said.
Dwayne had no clue what all the talk was about, but he knew that Richard was losing. He just heard Richard's opponent say something about an attack and Richard picked up one of the 2 face-down cards he had and put it in the discard pile, then, write something down on a piece of paper.
Richard looked at the score after he figured out the life points he lost. He had only 1000 life points left, and he only managed to get his opponent down to 3000 before he pulled the Blue-Eyes White Dragon out. Putting the monsters in defense mode would've helped protect his life points better, had his opponent not equipped the Blue Eyes with a Fairy Meteor Crush, which makes an attack deal life points of damage despite any defense mode monsters.
"It's your move," Kyle said. Kyle had a cocky grin on his face. Richard could only shake his head. He was done for if he couldn't pull something on this next turn. The Magician of Faith he had face down in defense mode wouldn't help, since it had only 400 Defense points compared to the Blue-Eyes' 3000 Attack points. That would still deal 2600 points of damage that Richard couldn't prevent. The only card he had in his hand, a Red-Eyes Black Dragon, wouldn't help. He needed to sacrifice two monsters on the field to summon it, since it was a level seven monster, and all he had was a face-down Magician of Faith, and even if he could summon it, the Red-Eyes' stats weren't high enough to matter.
Richard sighed as he drew the card for what could be his last turn. He looked at the card, seeing it was a Pot of Greed, a magic card that would allow him to draw two more cards. "Pot of Greed," Richard said as he put the card down, face up behind his face-down card. He drew two more cards from the deck and discarded the Pot of Greed.
He became surprised when he saw his hand. He had drawn both Mirror Force and Witch of the Black Forest, a level four monster that had a rather useful effect for him. "I'll set one card, face-down in defense," Richard said, setting the Witch of the Black Forest face down and sideways, like his other monster. "And I'll set another card face down." Richard set another card face-down and in the same place he set the Pot of Greed card earlier. "That will end my turn," Richard said.
Kyle knew he had this game in the bag. The face down magic or trap card was probably a bluff. and of course, there was nothing that could prevent the Blue Eyes from knocking Richard's life points to zero. He looked at his own Magic and Trap cards just in case, just in case. Kyle had two other face-down cards, so even if Richard pulled something off, he could probably turn the duel back around into his favor. He drew his card and placed a card face-up on the field. "I'll summon Spear Dragon in Attack mode," Kyle said. The Spear Dragon was a level 4 monster with 1900 attack points, plus it had the effect of the Fairy Meteor Crush. "Blue Eyes White Dragon attacks that face-down card," Kyle pointed at the face-down card that had already been on the field.
"Activate Trap." Richard said, flipping over the Mirror Force trap card. "Mirror Force negates the Blue Eyes' attack and destroys all of your monsters in attack mode."
Kyle groaned as he picked up the three face up cards and discarded them. The spectators made a noise as if mocking Kyle. He didn't expect a Mirror Force card to be the face down trap. "Your move," Kyle said. "It doesn't matter what you throw at me, I can still beat you."
"We'll see." Richard said, drawing his card. He looked at it, seeing that he drew a Heavy Storm magic card. "I'll have to end this after this turn. I play Heavy Storm. Destroy all Magic and Trap cards on the field." Kyle just discarded his remaining cards, both of them trap cards. Kyle was now wide open for a direct attack.
"I'll flip summon Magician of Faith," Richard said, flipping the Magician of Faith card face up. He started searching through his graveyard. Magician of Faith allowed him to return a magic card from his graveyard to his hand. He chose a Polymerization card he played earlier in the game, a magic card that allows the player to summon a fusion monster at the cost of discarding the two required monsters from either the field or hand.
"Then, I'll sacrifice my two monsters in order to summon the Red-Eyes Black Dragon in attack mode," Richard said. He discarded the two monster cards on the field and placed the Red-Eyes face up.
"That won't win it in one turn," Kyle said. He was slightly confused. No one ever played with a Red-Eyes anymore. It was too costly to play because it requires two sacrifices for only 2400 Attack points, while something like the Blue-Eyes can get you 3000 for the same amount of tributes.
"Maybe you should check what went to my graveyard," Richard said, pointing to the Witch of the Black Forest card that was on top of the graveyard. "You know the effect of Witch."
Kyle did know. By its effect, Richard was allowed to search his deck for a monster card with a defense of 1500 points or less when discarded from the field in any way, with no limit on the attack power of the monster he selects. It normally wouldn't matter. Richard couldn't normal summon again, since he could only do that once per turn. However, Kyle knew what this deck was built for. He was already on the receiving end of its purpose and that's what worried him.
Richard finally came across the card he was looking for, Summoned Skull. It was a level six monster that had 2500 attack points. However, he could put it in his hand because it had 1200 defense points. Richard shuffled his deck after taking the Summoned Skull out. If he could normal summon it, it would only require sacrificing one monster. However, that's not how he was going to use it.
Richard dropped his Polymerization card onto the table. "I'll play Polymerization to fuse Red-Eyes Black Dragon and Summoned Skull..." Richard revealed the Summoned Skull card in his hand before discarding it along with the Red-Eyes. "...into the Black Skull Dragon." Richard picked up a separate deck of seven cards. He took the bottom and placed it face up, the Black Skull Dragon card, which was at 3200 attack points. "Black Skull Dragon attacks for the win," Richard said.
The crowd applauded Richard for the come from behind win. Richard started picking up his cards. He extended a hand to his opponent, a sign of respect. However, Kyle just ignored it as he started cleaning up. Then, got up and walked off. Well, he's a sore loser, Richard thought.
"Nice work, Rich. Have no clue what just happened, but I assumed you won," Dwayne said, approaching Richard.
"Dwayne, what are you doing here?" Richard asked.
"I came looking for you. I just had something to talk to you about," Dwayne replied.
"Well, let me go get something. I should get about fifty dollars store credit for that tournament win," Richard said as he walked to the front of the store with Dwayne.
"Take your time. I just came to pick up some Spiderman comic or something," Dwayne said.
Richard looked at him curiously. "You don't like that stuff," Richard remarked.
"I know, but I need to buy something so that they don't tell me to never come back," Dwayne said. "Plus, I only have enough for a comic book."
Then, Richard got an idea. "Come back here for a sec," Richard said, leading Dwayne back to the manga rack. As they got there, Richard pulled the first two volumes of a manga called Harlem Beat off the rack. "I'm sure you'll enjoy this, it's a comic about street hoops."
"Street Hoops, huh?" Dwayne remarked. Then, he looked at the back cover, seeing that they were ten dollars per book. "I don't have enough money."
"I'll just use some of the credit I won to get you those," Richard said, heading towards the front counter.
This took Dwayne by surprise. Richard still had a kind heart buried under his attitude. "Thanks," Dwayne told him as he kept up with Richard.
Richard told the clerk at the counter that he would use twenty dollars on the two books and the rest of his credit on unlimited Magical Force boosters. He sat there and opened his boosters to see what he got. He smiled as he saw that he managed to pull X-Head Cannon, Y-Dragon Head, and Z-Metal Tank from the boosters, 3 cards he needed to pull off a fusion for his deck he got recently. He just needed two more cards to complete the set. He put the cards back into the packs and slid the packs into his pocket for now.
"Well, we can see about finding a place to talk in private right now, okay?" Richard suggested.
Dwayne nodded in response. Both boys walked out to the exit. Richard opened the door and stepped outside, holding the door for Dwayne to get through. When Richard let the door closed, he felt a fist slam into his face. Richard found himself knocked down to the ground. His face stung from the impact of the punch. He looked up to see Kyle standing right there.
"Don't you ever beat me like that again," Kyle said. "You probably cheated."
"I don't cheat," Richard said. "I won fair and square and I even offered you a sign of respect which you turned down." Richard just glared at Kyle as he got up from the ground. The uneasy silent made Dwayne worry about Richard.
Dwayne stepped in between the two. "This is enough, okay? Rich beat you, get over it."
"What's wrong? Can't fight back? You have to have your friend protect you?" Kyle asked.
Dwayne felt a hand place on his shoulder. He was gently pushed aside as Richard stepped up to Kyle. "Dwayne is acting on his own. However, I don't feel like dealing with punks like you."
Kyle was stunned. Richard's tone of voice sounded threatening, but his words weren't. He just had this strange feeling about him that made Kyle fear him. Richard then just turned away and walked off with Dwayne following close behind. "We'll go to the Arby's across the street. We can grab something to eat or something and talk there," Richard said.
"So, what's your problem, Richard?" Dwayne asked Richard. He quickly took a sip of his milkshake as he waited for Richard's response.
"What are you talking about?" Richard asked.
"Well, I know you've changed a lot. Even I became scared of you when you stared that guy down. I'm surprised you didn't pull a knife on him," Dwayne said.
"He needed that. That punk was pissing me off," Richard said. "Besides, why would I retaliate? I've taken far worse than what that guy could ever dish out."
"Far worse? What happened to you?" Dwayne asked.
"It's nothing that I want to talk about," Richard said. "What did you really want to talk to me about? I doubt that's it."
"Well, it's about how you suggested I lead this team. Why not you? I mean, I will most likely get us killed," Dwayne said.
Richard sighed. "I may be smart, but I don't have what it takes. These kids, even Rita, needs someone that's got a better attitude about things than I do. It's not about who's smarter, it's about who's better at keeping his allies going."
"And you think I'm better at it?" Dwayne asked.
"You already saw the effect I have on people."
"You got a point there."
"And don't worry about making mistakes. I should be able to cover up for most of them," Richard reassured him. "I'll still be able to support you with any strategic plans, but you make the final call on any of them."
"Right," Dwayne nodded, feeling a little better that he's not alone in this. He should've known that Richard had thought deeper.
"I better call my dad and let him know I'm done," Richard said, starting to get up.
"Hold up. I'm sure my folks can give you a ride home," Dwayne told him.
Richard stopped a while to think about it. Then, he just sat back down. "Thanks."
Tapirmon stood on the outdoor balcony of what was once was home, looking down on the city streets. He noticed some data particles starting to float and disappear. He saw Pail Dramon, Starmon, Golemon, Aquilamon, and Revolmon standing around where the particles came from. Tapirmon realized what just happened, seeing the masses of civilians lining the street to watch what happened. However, several of the civilians started speaking out angrily. The gangsters looked around, starting to wonder what to do. Then, Pail Dramon spoke the words Tapirmon wished he never heard. "Kill them all."
At that, the four adults attacking each and every civilian out on the street. Tapirmon could hear the cries just before each victim was deleted. However, when they were through, they started to raid the buildings to find more victims.
Pail Dramon finally looked up at the balcony and straight at Tapirmon. Tapirmon gulped as Pail Dramon rose one of his arms and aimed it right at the child level digimon. "Esgrima!!" Pail Dramon fired off his claws at Tapirmon. Tapirmon stood as they came within an inch of him.
Tapirmon woke up suddenly and started breathing heavily. He looked around the room, seeing whether he disturbed anyone. He noted that Jorge was not in his room. He must've gotten up already. Tapirmon finally jumped off the bed and walked out of the room, trying to find his partner.
He looked around the living room, which seemed quiet. It was a bit of a mess, but no more than it usually was in the daytime. The only extra mess was Juanita's work items.
He finally noticed Jorge standing just outside Victoria's bedroom. Jorge was peeking at his younger sister, who was fast asleep in her bed with Terriermon. "Jorge?" Tapirmon called out quietly.
Jorge turned to look at the mammal digimon. He just sighed in relief. "It's only you Tapirmon," Jorge whispered.
"Are you okay? You're acting like a closet pervert for some reason," Tapirmon said.
"It's just that watching Victoria like that always soothes me," Jorge replied.
"So, even you get depressed about things. Do you feel like talking about it?" Tapirmon asked.
"Not really," Jorge replied. However, Tapirmon knew the reason his partnered woke up in the middle of the night.
"Heh...it seems like she protects you as much as you protect her."
"So, something wrong with you? You're never up this late."
"Just a nightmare," Tapirmon replied.
"And I thought you could get rid of nightmares," Jorge said.
"Not ones I experience myself," Tapirmon said. "I'm heading back to sleep, we'll talk in the morning."
Tapirmon walked back into the room. Jorge just shrugged and walked up to the computer and turned it on. He accessed the message board and got into the general chat room, figuring that someone would be on at this time.
Richard walked through the neighborhood, in the cool afternoon. He hid Hagurumon under his jacket, not knowing what anyone would do if someone else saw them together. He had to leave for Dwayne's house so that his sisters didn't see him go into the Digital World.
This would be the first time the San Antonio team went in together. It would be a true test to see how they would function as a team. However, Richard hoped for no battles today, but he knew that it would be unavoidable, especially considering the power in control of the region.
Richard rounded another corner as Dwayne's house came into view. He walked down the street quickly, trying to get to Dwayne's house as soon as possible. He rushed across the Wrights' front lawn and up to the front porch. He quickly knocked on the door a couple of times.
Dwayne opened the door, with Rita right behind him. "Hey, Rich."
"Thanks for letting me come over," Richard said. "I still have to hide everything from my sisters."
"No sweat," Dwayne said.
"And what's the big deal with letting them know about Hagurumon?" Rita asked.
"You try explaining these things to your landlord," Richard replied.
Rita just shook her head, as Richard walked in the door. "Mom, Rich is here. We're about to head in," Dwayne said.
Dwayne's mother sighed, not believing she'd have to worry about Dwayne getting into more danger. At least, he took this seriously. She had watched the damage these Digimon could do.
Dwayne led the other two to his room, where he had the computer on already. As they entered the room, an opened Digital Gate appeared on the screen. Richard quickly input the coordinates of where they wanted to go. Then, all three of the children picked up their D3's and aimed it at the screen.
"Digi-port, open," Richard said as the Digital Gate drew the three in.
A monitor in a plains area flashed as 5 people came out of the screen. All of them tumbled into a pile on the ground. Jorge and Victoria had gone through at the same time. Their partners stood just watching all of the humans try to get untangled.
"So, how long are we going to deal with this?" Tapirmon asked
"Until they get used to it," Floramon replied.
"Or maybe until Dwayne learns to stay standing," Hagurumon added. "Dwayne caused that pile-up."
Richard and Jorge were the first out of the pile. Then, Jorge helped Victoria up, as Richard did with Rita. "Everyone okay?" Dwayne asked while still on the ground.
"For the most part," Richard remarked.
"Where's Clint?" Victoria asked, a little disappointed that he hadn't arrived yet.
"He's probably a little late," Dwayne said. "Don't worry too much about it, we'll wait up for him."
Just as Dwayne said that, the monitor flashed again and Clint landed on his feet, bending his knees to keep from falling. "Sorry, I'm late."
"You're fine," Jorge said. "We weren't going to leave you."
"This area seems familiar," Tapirmon remarked. "I don't know why."
"It does to me and Hagurumon," Gotsumon said. "We came here with Hank on our first trip into here with Dwayne and Richard."
"So, what's the big deal about here?" Floramon asked as Dwayne started to get up.
"We found an abandoned town here. Pail Dramon's gang killed everyone of its inhabitants," Dwayne told everyone else.
"Another one?" Tapirmon asked, causing the others to look at Tapirmon.
"What do you mean by that?" Richard asked.
Tapirmon just shook his head. "It's nothing," Taprimon replied.
"Well, we're kinda hoping to find something else there that may help us," Dwayne said.
"So, are we going?" Richard asked.
"Uh, yeah...let's go," Dwayne said. He started to walk off in one direction, only Hagurumon, Richard and Gotsumon didn't follow.
"Ummm...Dwayne?" Richard called..
"What is it, Rich?" Dwayne asked.
"The town is that way," Richard pointed in the opposite direction Dwayne was walking.
"Oh, yeah...sorry about that." Dwayne apologized and practically started to run in the other direction.
"Are you sure about Dwayne handling the role as leader?" Rita asked as she walked by Richard.
"He made one mistake, big deal. He's human. He's doing a better job than I would've done," Richard said.
Rita just went silent for a while as they continued towards the ghost town.
The destined children just looked around the ghost town as they entered it. The town was completely empty, but something about the town just left an uneasy feeling.
"This place is spooky," Victoria said. Then, the wind started blowing, making a low and loud sound as it passed through the empty buildings, like a poltergeist traveling through the town. This caused Victoria to jump in fear.
"Don't be afraid, Vickie," Clint said. "There's nothing here."
Dwayne stepped forward from the group. "I guess we could spread out and look around a bit. I mean we should find something that can help."
"That won't be necessary," Tapirmon spoke up.
The others looked down at the mammal digimon. "What are you talking about?" Jorge asked his partner.
Tapirmon seemed to look depressed. "This is my home. I...was the cause of the massacre here."
"That's crazy talk. What do you mean you caused the massacre?" Dwayne asked.
"It started when one of my 'friends' evolved..." Tapirmon started. "The town was celebrating that he had evolved into a Greymon. The town idolized the eight digimon that saved our world years ago from the Dark Masters, and anyone that evolved into any of those forms was looked on with high regard, especially with hopes that they would save the town from Pail Dramon's gang. However, that Greymon was letting things go to his head."
"Hey, Tapirmon. Don't you wish you were me?" Greymon asked, standing outside. Tapirmon was resting on one of the outdoor balconies.
"Yeah, whatever," Tapirmon said, getting annoyed by the dinosaur.
"You're just jealous. Maybe you will become one of those eight Adult forms, but until then, you'll just have to deal with me," Greymon said.
"Oh, fun." Tapirmon replied sarcastically.
"Heh, heh. This form...it's so much stronger than that pathetic Child form. I feel like I can take on Pail Dramon and his gang myself," Greymon bragged.
Tapirmon was officially pissed off. "Then, prove it."
"What did you say?" Greymon asked.
"Prove it. Go on and take on Pail Dramon's gang. You'll just get your tail handed to you, just like the others."
"You're on," Greymon growled. "I'll show all of you how pathetic you are. They isn't anything to be afraid of." Greymon then started to walk off. Tapirmon just lazily got up and walked into the building, deciding to get some sleep.
The next morning, Tapirmon woke up to the sound of a familiar yell. He tried to think of what Pail Dramon would be wanting with the town now. As much as he wanted to just sleep through it, he got up and walked out on the balcony. Then, he remembered what he talked to Greymon about last night, and he became extremely nervous.
He walked out onto the balcony and looked down at the street below. He watched as Pail Dramon tossed an injured Greymon down onto the street. Pail Dramon was surrounded by his four best men. Greymon looked up at Tapirmon, as if asking "Are you happy?"
"Dammit, Greymon. Why did you have to be so cocky?" Tapirmon asked. People started gathering along the street to watch what was going on.
"This is one of yours! Last night, he attacked our gang. I'll give him credit, he managed to put up a decent fight, until Golemon here trashed him," Pail Dramon said with a chuckle.
The civilians started to mutter amongst themselves, wondering what possessed Greymon to do such a thing. All it did was cause more trouble for the town. However, what got them more upset was that Pail Dramon was about to execute a young digimon.
Golemon grabbed Greymon's head and pulled it upward, while Revolmon put the gun barrel part of him up to the underside of his chin. Everyone seemed to gasp as Revolmon fired a shot right through Greymon's head. He then dispersed into data as the body recognized it was now dead.
"No..." Tapirmon said
The civilians watching below started to yell some things that were incoherent to Tapirmon at the moment. He just couldn't believe that Greymon was gone, just like that, and it was all his fault. Pail Dramon and his men were looking around at the people yelling at them. It was clear that the crowd had something against this execution.
"So, you don't like our methods, huh?" Pail Dramon asked the crowd. Then, he said the three words that would change Tapirmon's life forever. "Kill them all!!"
"Meteor Squall!!" Starmon yelled, summoning a meteor shower onto the town to start the carnage.
Tapirmon immediately ran back into the building and downstairs. Not wanting to confront any of Pail Dramon's men, he ran for the back door of the building and into an alley. He looked around, trying to find a way to get out of the town without being found.
However, the only exits from the alley either led to the main street or into the tavern next door. He ran for the door of the tavern and plowed right through it. He looked to see that the tavern was empty, except for a Nanimon and Jellymon hiding behind the counter.
"Don't worry, Nanimon. It's just me," Tapirmon reassured the mutant digimon.
"Tapirmon, are you okay?" Nanimon asked.
"I'm fine, I haven't been followed, so far," Tapirmon said. "I'm trying to find a way out of this town, without being caught."
"I know of a way out, but I won't be able to go with you. This old digimon isn't what he used to be," Nanimon said.
"Thank you, Nanimon. How can I repay you?" Tapirmon asked.
"Here," Nanimon said. He handed the Jellymon to Tapirmon. "Please, take care of my daughter, so at least she'll be safe."
"I understand," Tapirmon nodded, as Nanimon led Tapirmon and Jellymon to a hidden exit to the tavern.
"That's what happened, and how I was able to escape. That was the last I saw of anyone from the town," Tapirmon said.
"Wait a sec. You said you took care of a Jellymon. What happened to it?" Richard asked.
"I was that Jellymon. At least, that's what Tapirmon kept telling me," Terriermon spoke up. "I have no memories of this place, but Tapirmon always told me of it."
"Did that Nanimon happen to run the tavern in the town as a bartender?" Dwayne asked.
"Yes, he did. Why?" Tapirmon asked.
"Pail Dramon spared him after the massacre," Dwayne said. "Rich, Hank and I met him here, and he wouldn't help us, not wanting anyone to get hurt. However, a battle took place here."
"Nanimon saved my life as a Flymon was about to impale me, but he was promptly pinned down. I tried to get him unstuck after the battle, but Revolmon appeared and killed him then," Richard added. "Terriermon, I'm sorry, but we couldn't save your father."
"I understand," Terriermon said, lowering her head, starting to realize she and her partner had one thing in common.
"Nanimon was a fool," a voice said from one of the rooftops.
The others looked around for the source of the voice. Richard found it first and identified it almost immediately. "Revolmon," Richard said with a low growl.
The group watched as Revolmon jumped down from the building and landed on the main street. "I hate people who think flashy entrances make them look better," Richard remarked.
"That fool really thought we would spare him his life as long as he served us drinks. He was a coward among them all. He wasn't even worth killing in that massacre," Revolmon told the group below.
"Nanimon had enough courage to save my life, do you really think I disrespect him like that?" Richard asked.
"Anyone who respects that old fool is the biggest fool of all," Revolmon mocked.
Richard just glared at the Adult-level digimon. Revolmon started to piss him off big time.
"You murdered everyone here. Do you not have any regrets? Even killing Greymon while he was down," Tapirmon said.
"Heh...Greymon. I remember him. It was amusing watching him rip through some of our men, but he paled in comparison to Golemon or me," Revolmon said. "You all got what you deserved. In fact, there's only two more digimon left to kill so that massacre is complete."
"Over our dead bodies," Dwayne told him.
"I think I can arrange that," Revolmon told them.
Anger started to well up inside Terriermon. She couldn't allow Revolmon to fight, however, she didn't want to go against her partner's will. She looked over to Victoria. "Forgive me, Vickie..." Terriermon told her partner as a pillar of light engulfed her.
"I understand, Prairiemon. Get him," Victoria told her.
"Terriermon, evolve!! PRAIRIEMON!!"
Prairiemon glared down Revolmon. Ready for the showdown. "This is for you, Father," Prairiemon whispered.
"Jorge, Prairiemon can't handle this alone," Tapirmon told him.
"Understood. Do it," Jorge said, watching his partner become engulfed in light.
"Tapirmon, evolve! BOARMON!!"
"Heh...we're not leaving you two alone to deal with Revolmon. Rich and I want revenge as much as you do," Dwayne remarked, watching as the other four child Digimon evolve to their Adult forms. "Let's go. It's all or nothing!"
"Who's going down first?" Revolmon asked. "How about the bird lady right behind me?"
"Wind Seeker!!" Harpymon shouted as she fired off a vacuum blade. Revolmon just jumped to the side, letting the attack go by.
He, then quickly turned around and fired off a shot with deadly accuracy. The shot hit head on, and Harpymon started to plummet to the ground, reverting back to her Child form.
"Iceball Bomb!!" Icemon shouted, shooting off several ice balls. The attacks merely fell to the ground as Revolmon jumped out of range of each one. Then, he took aim at Icemon and fired. Icemon just reverted back to Gotsumon before he hit the ground.
"Hmmm...And time for the horse," Revolmon muttered as he aimed skyward, getting Unimon in his sights.
"Holy..." Unimon started, ready to fire down on Revolmon. However, Revolmon merely fired another shot, right into Unimon's neck. The attack dissipated as he fell to the ground. He reverted to Patamon in mid air and hit the ground as the small mammal.
"Three down, three to go," Revolmon said.
"Haaa!!!" Thunderballmon yelled as he charged straight at Revolmon. However, Thunderballmon had to change plans as Revolmon fired a shot at him. In a split second, he was rushing off to the right.
"That was too close," Richard said. "Thunderballmon, you have the right idea, we just need to catch him off guard somehow."
"What are you talking about?" Jorge asked.
"Revolmon may be an expert at long-range, but he can't do anything in close-range. If we can just get close without him firing on us..." Richard said. "Wait a sec, he gets distracted pretty easily with all the attacks being aimed at him."
"So?" Jorge asked.
"I want Boarmon to attack Revolmon with his fire attack. It should provide what we need," Richard told Jorge.
"That could leave Boarmon wide open for an attack," Jorge warned, trying to be careful with his partner.
"If all goes to plan, you won't need to worry about it," Richard reassured him. "Just trust me on this."
Jorge just nodded. "Okay, Boarmon. Attack Revolmon with all you got."
Boarmon spread his legs as if prepping for a big attack. "Nose Blaster!!" Boarmon fired off the flame attack straight at Revolmon. Revolmon just waited as the flames engulfed him, standing unaffected.
"You just never learn," Revolmon remarked. He was ready to fire another shot, but as soon as the flames began to die down, Thunderballmon flew right through the flames. "WHAT?!"
"Thunder Bomber!!" Thunderballmon flew in low and rammed Revolmon right in the body, under the gun barrel. Revolmon couldn't move as electricity went straight through his body.
"And now for the finisher," Prairiemon yelled. "Sonic Ear!!" Prairiemon shot off two sonic waves at Revolmon. The attack seemed to slice right through him. Revolmon just broke into three clean cuts before dissipating into data.
"I honestly didn't think that would work," Richard said, blinking a bit.
Jorge turned to look at Richard. "You didn't? Then, why did you have us do that?" Jorge asked.
"I needed to do something. Nothing else was working," Richard answered. He went to pick up Hagurumon as he had de-volved from the lack of energy.
"I still can't believe we won," Dwayne said.
"And you would've preferred it if we lost?" Clint asked.
"Hell, no," was Dwayne's sudden reply.
Jorge and Victoria returned home through their computer monitor. Terriermon was tuckered out, and Victoria yawned a bit, also tired from that outing.
"Go ahead and take a nap if you want, Victoria. Mom should understand," Jorge told her.
Victoria nodded as she walked to her bedroom. Tapirmon walked to a spot at the foot of a couch and laid down. Jorge walked over and sat on the couch next to him.
"So, now you know," Tapirmon told him. "You know about my past."
"I don't hold any grudge on you. That massacre wasn't your fault, no matter how much you blame yourself for it," Jorge told him.
"So, what do you want to talk about?" Tapirmon asked.
"You revealed something about your past that you had kept to yourself to me. I think it's only fair that you know something about my own past, but promise not to tell anyone. I don't want to worry the others, not even Victoria or mother," Jorge told him.
Tapirmon nodded in agreement, and waited for whatever Jorge had to tell him. "Tapirmon, you know how my father was killed. Well, I watched the whole thing happen."
