Fic, Character, and Scene Themes
This page lists the songs selected as themes for my respective stories, characters and scenes, as well as somewhat of an explanation why. This will be updated as I figure out more themes. Note: I have no links to these songs. If you want to find them, find them yourself. I'm sorry for that inconvenience.
- Alamo Diaries Opener: "Open Your Heart" Sonic Adventures theme. This song has tones of fear and desparation mixed with hope and determination. Considering the nature of the characters in Alamo Diaries, it actually fits them to a 'T'.
- Alamo Diaries Closer: "Kids Aren't Alright" by the Offspring. Again, this one has a mixed negative and positive tones in this song. While the music is energetic, the lyrics actually talk about children that have fallen as they've grown. I've actually thought of this song as a general theme for the Adventures Diaries series in general.
- Dwayne Wright's theme: "It Doesn't Matter", Sonic's theme (Sonic Adventures 1 version). Obviously, Dwayne's the most positive thinking member of San Antonio's team of Destined children. He tries not to let things drag him down so he can focus more on what's going on. I chose the Sonic Adventure 1 version specifically because the Sonic Adventures 2 version souds too 'punkish' for Dwayne's character.
- Richard Thompson's theme: "Still Waiting" by Sum41. Actually, the music to this sounds too rebellious for Richard's character, but the lyrics match his opinions perfectly.
- Clint Reeves' theme: "Hard Workin' Man" by Brooks & Dunn. Clint's rather serious about his work, even with manual labor. Plus, it's a bit fitting for the stereotyped Texan to get a country song. ^^;
- Jorge Gonzalez's theme: "Remember" by Disturbed. Jorge's the most tragic character of the team after having watched his father get murdered when he was five. Having such memories haunting him, just remembering them can cause him to break down mentally. He's quite emotionless otherwise.
- Victoria Gonzalez's theme: "I'm With You" by Avril Lavigne. I'd explain this one, but it contains a lot of spoilers on this one.
- Pail Dramon's theme: "Behind Blue Eyes" by Limp Bizkit. Pail Dramon actually has his reasons for acting the way he does, it's just that no one else knows them.
- Blue Card Diaries closer: "Disarm" by the Smashing Pumpkins. This one kinda portrays the ideal of a not so innocent child. It's rather solemn sounding which makes it fit for a closer, but it can fit just about any closer.
- David White's theme: "Free" by Powerman 5000. David lives freely considering his father is hardly ever around, but even that is hard on him. He just has most of the responsibilities thrown on him.
- Renegades opener: "Blurry" by Puddle of Mudd. Though, this really fits as a theme for the whole Chimera Saga. The characters are just hit with a reality that they don't even want, and things just become harder for them to understand.
- Ryan's/Ryu's theme: "Out of Control" by Hoobastank. Face it, nothing that happens to this kid happens by his own choice.
- Daniel's/Guile's theme: "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" by Green Day. Though this song could also fit other characters in the Chimera Saga, it still fits him enough. As inexperienced as Guile is, he still manages things on his own, his own dreams smashed by the events that have happened to him.
