The original
Protect Gear skin
color by iso6 is not black actually, it's a kind of blue. I really don't
know how to describe the color. So I want to do a black protect gear skin
that look just like in the movie, but I couldn't proceed due to my lousy
skills in image editing. As the picture below shows, I can only
darken the skin.
How to
Reskin
How to do a
basic reskin is actually very simple. You just need the Half-Life Model
Viewer and a image editing program like Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop. First
you load up iso6's original model and you choose
"Texture". Next you export the skin texture which in this case
is the j4.bmp. You edit the .bmp image and when you are done, simply load
up the original model again and import the edited bmp image. But take note
that the finished image has to be in 256 color.
Lastly you
import the bmp and save the model, as a new .mdl file of course. What name
you want is up to you, be it sas.mdl or terror.mdl. Then you just have to
go to "Render" to see your new skin on the model. Easy huh?

the edited j4.bmp by email with your particulars, and I'll give you the
full credit. Then I will host it on this page for everybody to download.
If you want to do other wacky skin versions of the Protect Gear you are welcome to, have to be a
