The Doctors who appear in "A Promise Through Time"
The Doctor is part human from the planet Galifrey, home of the timelords. He is a renegade timelord who has a soft spot for earth and the human population. Against all rules, the Doctor constantly meddles in the lives of all those he encounters in his travels, ocassionally aquiring a companion to keep him company during his long journeys through time and space in his TARDIS. The TARDIS is a time machine that in most cases can change shapes to blend in with it's surroundings when on strange and new planets. However, the Doctor's machine had a small malfunction while he was visiting Earth and he is unable to change it from the British Police Telephone Box he had disguised it as.
As a timelord, he has the ability to regenerate, usually whenever he would normally die. A timelord is able to regenerate 12 times before they finally die. The Doctor, throughout the series, regenerates seven times. Just a few years ago, however, FOX made a movie, introducing an eighth regeneration. If you click on the pictures, they will take you to the BBC's site which has more indepth information on each incarnation of the Doctor. In my story, I will be using the third and fourth incarnation of the Doctor.
The Third Doctor as Seen in My Eyes
The Doctor stands with his mechanical counterpart, K9, who
uses his ability to talk to keep the doctor out of trouble.
The first Doctor that will appear in my story is the 3rd incarnation of the Doctor played by Jon Pertwee. He is almost a romantic figure in his velvet suits with ruffles at his neck and wrists. His cape gives him an exotic flare that draws attention and enforces how different the Doctor is from most people. He is a very charismatic man, perferring the more direct and physical way to solving problems unlike the incarnation before him. He would go as far as using a sword to his own form of martial arts as he fights to save the innocent. As all other Doctors, before and after him, Pertwee's character had his own unique qualities aside from his daring attire. With his character would be introduced the sonic screwdriver, a tool the Doctor will find many strange uses for even in his later incarnations. He also enjoyed fast cars, driving around in his yellow roadster 'Bessie' along with other vehicles.
The Fourth Doctor as Seen in My Eyes
The Doctor and his enemy, the evil timelord known only as the Master.
This is the Doctor that will appear later in my story. He is the 4th and most popular incarnation played by Tom Baker. He uses wit and his intelligence to defeat his enemies and is well known for his extremely long scarf. He is recognized easily by his love for jelly babies which he is always willing to offer to people, usually at some of the most inconvenient or strangest moments. Last, he also has the use of K9 who continues his services to the Doctor while keeping him safe and providing him with help and information at some of the most convenient times.
These are the formidable Daleks who were created by the Doctor Who writer Terry Nation. They were created on the planet Scaro by a man called Davros (if you can really call him a man the way he looks). The name Daleks is a reversed form of the name the people who helped create them were called, the Kaleds. The Daleks betrayed Davros soon after their creation and left him to dedicate their lives to taking over the universe. Throughout the Doctor Who series, however, the Daleks will come running back to their creator, killing everything in their way to get his aid when they are unable to solve a problem that could mean their emminent destruction.
