Roxie Von Engel's Diamond in the Ruff Born March 28th 2005 Sandy Evans' very beautiful girl! 
Sadly, Roxie was diagnosed with systemic histiocytosis in June '08. Sandy took her to a specialist who started her on a protocol of Prednisone, Niacinimide, and Tetracycline. Her lesions showed no improvement, so he has recently added Cyclosporin. She has been on the Cyclosporin for two weeks now, and the lesions are much improved. Our prayers for this young Berner Girl that her condition continues to improve and that she attains a long and successful remission from this cancer. Roxie Update August 9th '08 "We got her blood work back this week. Her kidney and liver values had improved slightly, indicating that the meds were probably affecting them. We are continuing to wean her off of the Prednisone, attributing her values to being on this med for so long. The Cyclosporin is working well, making it well worth the expensive price tag! She still has days where it seems to take all of her energy to merely lift her head, but the spark is still there. She's a fighter, not wanting to leave us or her baby brother, Ruger, behind any time soon...."
