In Loving Memory of

Ozzie Greco

March 26th 2002 to August 30th 2008

Loved and so sadly missed by MaryJo Greco and Family

Ozzie

His name is OZZIE and he was born on March 26, 2002. We picked him up and brought him home on July 31, 2002, and our life was never the same. If ever there was a definition of thee perfect dog Oz was it. Vicious MH may have taken his gorgeous body from us physically but it could never take his spirit and our memories, they are endless.

Oz loved everything in life, especially food. He was our rinse cycle loading the dishwasher after meals, meticulously cleaned the boys high chairs and fingers and a pork loin on the counter was never safe. Walks, walks, and more walks. We walked everywhere, the park where geese poop was a favorite treat, the high school fields and the playground where he would slide down the sliding board for all who gathered to see him. Oz had lots of friends. He would have sleepovers at Jackie and Jill's house across the street (his home away from home) with his best friend WINK, the mini chocolate daschaund with one eye. Wink and Oz were like brothers, twin brothers. HUNI, the sweet, sweet, black & tan doxi who crossed over to the rainbow bridge just 5 weeks before he did. I can just see them now running endlessly together again and looking for food. The Bassett brothers Rod and BO, the golden Ernie, the list is endless. But what Oz loved the most was US and boy did we love him just as much!!!! Not a day went by without a rush to the door, a look up the stairs in the morning, or laying at our feet watching TV and eating pretzels. Oz was always around, he was a presence far larger than a dog.

In the past 6 ½ years he was by our side in true Berner fashion. He was truly our dream dog in every way. We already had three cats when he came into our life. He then helped us welcome two little brothers Evan and Austin and was truly their BIG brother and protector. He was always gentle and proud to be "one of the boys". As sad and heartbroken as we all feel, he was perfectly healthy for 6 1/2 years. We went on a walk just the day before we had to take him to the vet because his eating began to decrease and was panting more than usual. His health failed very quickly in a matter of three days. After ultrasounds and a biopsy we received the dreaded results. MH spread very quickly to his spleen, lymph nodes and bones. We had to say goodbye just 4 days later on August 30, 2008. Although it seemed like an eternity we did not see him sick very long which was a blessing. He allowed us to remember him as the happy and healthy boy we had come to know and love.

We are so sad to be adding him to this list, but as Garth Brooks says in "The Dance", "we could have missed the pain, but we would have had to miss the dance". For all the pain we feel in this loss we would have not traded one minute. We feel so blessed to have had OZ in our life and we are truly better for it. His ashes are held in a beautiful box by our bedside and his collar under my pillow.

OZ. YOU ARE FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS AND ALWAYS IN OUR MINDS.
REST IN PEACE OUR BEAUTIFUL BOY UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN!
WE LOVE YOU AND WILL FOREVER!!!!!

LOVE, MOMMY, DADDY, EVAN, AUSTIN, PHIL & NASH
