Caruso at 8.5 years old This morning at 5:30 AM, we helped Caruso (9.5 yrs) to the Bridge. He was my heart dog -- my first "show dog" -- handsome, reliable, sensitive, generous, kind -- beautiful in body, heart and spirit, topped off with a sense of humor and a taste for singing to Schubert Impromptus and carrying all of our bath room rugs out the front door whenever we came home -- in short, everything you could want in a refined (furry) man.
