Bailey

Who died on 12/28/05 after a brave fight with Histiocytosis

"She was quite a beautiful lady, inside and out!"

Bailey. sadly lost to Histiocytosis

"Bailey was adopted on 01/05/94. Frankly, the vet could not even begin to tell us what she had in her. We adopted our "pound puppy" when she was estimated to be 3-4 months old. Very young, but yet old enough to have suffered quite a bit. Her back right leg had been broken and healed by itself in a totally wrong way. It was pretty apparent when we got her that she had been abused. Yet she was so very sweet and gentle...as a matter of fact, we can't say that we ever heard her growl. If anyone ever had reason to....

In researching this horrible disease we found that flat-coated retrievers also get this cancer. It is our estimate that she had some of this in her, especially the shape of her head. We sure do wish we could see that wonderful head now!

Her passing has left us with a hole that I know will never be replaced. For Bailey to start her life in such a horrific way yet be such a sweet and gentle soul really shows how wonderful these 4-legged companions are.
