"He was 11 years,
11 mos., 23 days old when he had to be euthanized.
We "almost" made it to 12 years, which is at least 4
years more time of his great companionship than I ever expected when
I brought him into my home at the age of 21 mos.
This picture of "Flash with Student" is one of him
in the "Read to the Dog" program at one of our local
schools. This was during his last visit in May, 2006 just a few
weeks before his passing. During his 4 years as a "reading dog"
he assisted more than 60 students - most of whom had English as
their second language - to find the enjoyment in reading and that
books are friends."
