Ready to know my secrets to learning Japanese well and REMEMBERING it? Well, here’s the first tip.
Make Japanese a familiar thing. Surround yourself with it. Even if you don’t have friends or others around you who speak it and/or are learning to speak it, there’s a way that you can help yourself.
Here’s something I do myself. Label things around your room with the correct Japanese words for it. You don’t have to write it in Japanese. It’s easier if you write the pronunciation near the word. Every couple of times that you look at it, pronounce it. Look at the word and say it out loud.
If you do this for a couple of weeks, you should be able to put the English words on the back and turn the card over. When you read the English word, say the correct Japanese word for it. Turn it over and see if you got it right.
