Fujitaka is the single father of Sakura and Touya. He is mostly always happy and cheerful, willing to help out as much as he can just like Sakura. He got married at a young age when he was just starting out his teaching career. He met his late wife, then Amamiya Nadeshiko, since she was one of his students. Nadeshiko was only sixteen but they were in love and they got married since Japan's legal age to get married is 16.
He lost his wife promising to her that he won't cry when she died. His occupation is an university professor and he teaches an anthropology/archeology class. This leaves him with a very busy schedule, meaning lots of travelling and presentations. Still, he has managed to raise two mature and highly responsible children who willingly help out with the household chores.
Fujitaka is a very understanding father. He is very forgiving for his children's mistakes and help them fix whatever problem may result. For instance, during the capture of the "Sleep" card, Sakura destroys his computer and a huge report he has been preparing for a presentation to a convention two days following. When Fujitaka comes in and sees his daughter crying about the destruction, he comforts his crying daughter and gives her a hug. Seeing she is still upset the next day, he simply tells her he can easily recreate his work and that all he needs is a good assistant which gives Sakura the chance to help repair the damage.
He was deeply in love with his wife, Nadeshiko and has remained loyal to her memory since he has not remarried and shows no sign of having another wife. It seems like he's good at everything that he does and does it almost perfectly. Fujitaka is the most athlethic and best runner in the Kinomoto family as Touya states that during the Tomoeda Elementary Field Day races. Fujitaka is really a perfect father and husband and even Sonomi grudgingly admits that Fujitaka's only fault was that he had no faults.
Kinomoto Fujitaka is the other half reincarnation of Clow Read himself. When Clow Read died, he choose to split himself into two souls to be reborn into two different bodies. One is Kinomoto Fujitaka and the other is Hiiragizawa Eriol. It seems fitting that Sakura is Fujitaka's daughter and has magical powers as well. Fujitaka is unaware that he was Clow Read and has no magical powers as far as I know.
