Nadeshiko is Sakura and Touya's mother and is Fujitaka's wife. She married Fujitaka when she was only 16 and he was 25. She was a part time model when she was in school, and Fujitaka saved many of her photos. They all are around the house, two being in the kitchen for Sakura to say "hi" or "good morning" to. All of them showed Nadeshiko as being quite beautiful.
Nadeshiko wasn't very good at sports and didn't enjoy them that well either. Her cousin is Daidouji Sonomi, then Amamiya Sonomi, who went to school with her. Sonomi was very protective and loving of her favorite cousin, keeping away "pests" as she called them and she hated the fact that one got through and stole her cousin away. Nadeshiko was described by Sonomi as extremely clumsy and tripped over air (think Usagi and Miaka without all the crying) and was always happy and cheerful no matter how often she fell and crashed into something. Nadeshiko met Fujitaka when she literally fell on top of him. Nadeshiko found a baby bird and was returning it to its nest when she slipped and fell. She crashed through the branches and landed on a passing teacher. When Nadeshiko apologized and asked if he was alright, Fujitaka got up and smiled at her, saying that an angel just fell from the sky.
They fell in love and got married. Nadeshiko's family was very wealthy and they didn't approve of the match since Fujitaka had no money and was just beginning as a teacher. So Nadeshiko's family left them estranged and Nadeshiko didn't speak with them much for the next ten years. Rather than take money from them, Nadeshiko continued working as a model.
Sadly, Nadeshiko passed away at 27, and when Sakura was only 3. She said she always wanted her child to be named after her favourite flower, Sakura and that's how Sakura's name came to be. Even after her death, Nadeshiko's family blamed Fujitaka for taking away their beloved Nadeshiko. But the family showed signs of reconcilement when Nadeshkoi's grandfather met Sakura for the first time. He couldn't turn away his beloved's great granddaughter, especially since Sakura resembled Nadeshiko so much.
Even though she is no longer alive, Nadeshiko still checks in on her family in a spirit form. Her son, Touya, seems to be able to see her when she pays her visits. Nadeshiko often appears in spirit form wearing a long flowing pale yellow gown with long lacy sleeves and floating on angel wings.
