Role in the Story: Gavin grew up as a close friend of Feron's in the village of Tess Grotta. When he was about 16, Malus ordered the Tess Grotta massacre. His mother was killed while his family was fleeing the slaughter. Gavin and his father journeyed out of the ancient forests and became nomads, traveling wherever Gavin and his father could find work. However his father was grief stricken at the loss of his wife, and within a few years he also died of heartache. At the inheritance of his father's sword, he continued to refine his skills with it, and became quite a swordsman. Since his father's death, he has continued his nomadic life, often fighting for money and performing odd jobs to get by. The birth of Somnia proved to give him ample amount of work disposing of monster's and other beings that emerged from the portals. When Malus imposed a hefty reward for Feron's capture, he could not pass up the opportunity. He was able to catch up with her and Aurea by tracking them to a small village they were passing through. He encounters Feron and Aurea at a pub in the village. Aurea, being too drunk to help out, is unable to help Feron against Gavin. They have a battle, but Feron begins to hold back as she realizes who Gavin is. The battle results in Feron fleeing from him. Gavin would continue the pursuit of Feron until he learns that Malus was the one who ordered the Tess Grotta massacre. After this he will join Feron and Aurea in their quest.
Personality: Gavin tends to be relatively serious, but not to the degree that Feron is. He still harbors feelings towards Feron that he has had since his childhood, but is reluctant to express them. Aurea is constantly trying to get his attention, and he doesn't mind amusing her. Off the battlefield, he is very patient and gentle. He almost acts as an unofficial leader to the group, because it is his cunning nature that saves them numerous times.
Fighting Techniques: Gavin's main weapon is his father's sword. This sword is special in that it has a feature that will protect it's blade from the blow of a claramina. When this feature is activated, the sword glows with a white light. A claramina will do major damage to an iron blade that is not protected. He also carries a bola that comes in handy against opponents that are able to fly, because he cannot. He boasts great accuracy with his bola, and most of the time this is enough to temporarily subdue his opponent. Gavin is the strongest of the three hero's, and can put miraculous force behind a blow from his sword. His weakness is his speed. His armor and heavy clothing slow him down.
