The maidens with Black Hands
Episode 1 begins with Mireille on her moped, going back home with some
groceries. She got to her apartment and promptly begins to check her
email. A new piece of mail with a picture and sound attached was sent to her by a girl that she never knew evidently. Kirika wrote to her,
"Make a pilgrimage for the past with me." As she turns to go away, the music starts to play. It is a piece of lullaby that Mireille
is familiar with.
Now we see Kirika, talking with her high school classmates and saying goodbyes. as she turns her around and walk away
, she has this sad look on her face. She walks toward a building under construction, and a car was waiting there for her. A truck is
also headed toward the construction.
Mireille was waiting for Kirika at the construction site and begin to question why she has brought her there. Kirika stayed quiet and
after the second question, she took out the wind up pocketwatch. At which, Mireille responded with sticking her hand into her purse,
most likely for a gun. The lullaby plays on while the 2 girls remained quiet, and Kirika looks up to see the truck stopped under a bridge
near the construction side and she bolted inside. Mireille follows immediately after her.
Kirika seems to run incredibly fast and Mireille had a hard time catching up with her. Eventually, Mireille found her sitting on a ledge
of steel bar sticking out, with a setting sunset on the background. Kirika had the pocketwatch out once more, and was listening to the
lullaby. Mireille poses the same questions to Kirika once more and this time, she answers.
M: "That's enough"
M: "What a pointless pilgrimage"
M: "I'd ask again, who are you?"
K: "Noir"
K: "I've been... waiting for you"
Then, Mireille was shot at by men in suits and she reponds with deadly accuracy, taking out all the people taking a shot at her. Kirika
proceeds to run away and Mireille follows. As she follows, she took out few more men in suits and while she was resting, she heard distant
gunshots. As she search for Kirika, she saw men lying on the floor dead and realize the girl isn't just a simple school girl. She proceeds
carefully and finds a man with his hands up in the air. A trap is sprung and Mireille is surrounded by men in black suits and almost killed.
But Kirika shows up in time and kills everyone around Mireille with a headshot. What follows is a scene that you must watch for yourself...
Mireille and Kirika are back at Kirika's home, where she learns that everything about herself is a fabrication. Mireille learns that
Kirika remembers nothing of herself, and is a lost girl who needs to know why she knows how to kill, but feel no sadness.
They exchanged some more informations and Mireille decided that she would help Kirika, but since no one knows about Mireille's job,
she would kill her when Kirika regains her memory.
