The year is 0158 of the Toward Stars Calendar ...

Humankind has finally reached the stars only to find out that they are not alone in the universe. Alien races inhabit the universe, some peaceful, and some not. Interstellar trade has been established, the colonization of worlds is now commonplace, and technology has advanced far beyond anyone's wildest imaginations.

In this universe, three groups struggle for power...

The Space Forces. Attempting to bring law to a lawless space. Part police force, part military, they protect the space lanes from pirates and criminals alike.

The Pirate Guilds. Divided among themselves, but more powerful than anyone wants to admit. Possessing superior technology, limitless wealth, and powerful Tao magic, the Pirate Guilds seem to be unstoppable.

The Outlaws.  Not an organized group in the sense of the others, but rather a group of individuals cooperating out of necessity of the cold depths of space. Some seek fame, some seek treasure, while others seek revenge ... but they are Outlaws because of what they crave most: Adventure.

    The story begins on the planet of Sentinel III, a backwater planet with everything from a few large cities to vast fields of agriculture.   This is Gene Starwind's home, his base of operations for his business Starwind and Hawking.  With his partner Jim Hawking they sell their services, which entitle a long range of duties, such as repairing farm equipment to serving as a bodyguard.  

    Their lives were about to change when they took on what seemed as a routine bodyguard job for a somewhat mysterious woman.  Quickly they learned of the adventure unfolding before their very eyes, involving some girl in a box, a state of the art spaceship, a band of vengeful space pirates, alien races, and the most sought after treasure in the known universe, The Galactic Leyline.

    Along their travels Gene and Jim meet some interesting people and go to different worlds.  But will Gene and Jim find the Leyline, and more importantly will Gene fulfill his promise to the mysterious girl found in the box, only time will tell and the glory of adventure will help them along their way...
