4/27/05 Production I.G. has officially announced development of an anime motion picture adaptation of CLAMP's Tsubasa - RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE manga series. The XXXHolic ~ Manatsu no Yoru no Yume (XXXHolic: Dark Dream of Summer) motion picture will be released this August as a double feature with the Tsubasa Chronicle ~ Tori Kago no Kuni no Himegumi (Tsubasa Chronicle: Princess of the Country of the Bird Cage) motion picture. Both films will be animated by Production I.G. - Animenation

Atlus has announced plans to release an American version of popular Korean PS2 RPG Magna Carta.

Score Entertainment has announced plans to include randomly inserted sticker cards autographed by Inuyasha creator Rumiko Takahashi in its upcoming Inuyasha Trading Card Game series. Score has now revealed that the first edition printings of the Inuyasha Card Game fourth and fifth series releases will contain only 2 autographs each.

Viz has officially announced that Inuyasha movie 3: Swords of an Honorable Ruler will debut on American DVD on September 6th.



4/20/05 BIG NEWS!!!!! Or, well, new production images from Weta Workshop are online now. According to Weta production is officially "on hold" at the moment. However, they have put up a few new images here.

4/19/05 And to finally answer the question: yes. According to animenewsnetwork.com a new Hellsing OVA series is being produced in cooperation with Geneon Entertainment, according to an annoucement at the MipTV tradeshow in France. The number of episodes is unknown, but they will be 35 minutes long and based on the Hellsing manga series.

Disney's El Capitan theater in Hollywood is now selling tickets for the North American premiere of Howl's Moving Castle on June 10th.



4/15/05 Japan's Mainichi News has reported that Chinese director John Woo will produce the second Appleseed motion picture directed by Shinji Aramaki, who directed the first film.

4/5/05 Following the merger between Shueisha & Shogakukan subsidiaries Viz, LLC. and ShoPro Entertainment, the newly combined company has announced the formal adoption of the name Viz Media, LLC.

According to the Nausicaa.net Mailing List, the Chinese newspaper Nanjing Morning Post has revealed that Studio Ghibli will make an anime adaptation of Chinese children's novel "I Lost my Little Boy"

4/3/05 Plans for a Powerpuff Girls anime were announced at the Tokyo Animation Fair. A joint venture between Toei Animation, Aniplex, and Cartoon Network, the new project will be tentatively titled "Demashitaa! Powerpuff Girls Z."


4/1/05 I have a new Pen Thought in the Pen Penny section. I moved one to Previous. An odd thing, recently, when I've done less and less with this site, I've gotten more and more e-mails regarding it. This makes me want to work on the site some more, and then I probably won't get any e-mails.

I fixed the broken link, apparently Angelfire up and deleted stuff. Yea, I don't know why.

AD Vision representative Allen Divers has clarified statements made by AD Vision's Matt Greenfield at last weekend's Kamikaze Con regarding titles such as Princess Tutu, Petit Princess Yucie, and Wedding Peach becoming "web exclusive" titles. Apparently these series are not technically online exclusive; they're simply not carried by most walk-in retail stores. "These titles will continue to be pushed out to the traditional brick and mortar retailers as well, but due to competition and lack of shelf space will not always be picked up by these locations." - With all the cutbacks and delaying a ton of titles, it seems ADV has been having some financial troubles. This probably means the Evangelion movie will not happen, but who knows.

Japanese satellite TV network WOWOW has announced broadcast plans for three new anime TV series. Bioboosted Armor Guyver will premier on Japanese television this summer. The new TV series is an AD Vision co-production. Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid will be the third Full Metal Panic anime TV series. The series will premier in Japan this summer. The Shuffle! anime TV series will be an adaptation of a popular PC game. The anime will debut this summer.
