12/12/05 Call it an extended vacation, however I do come bearing gifts a new Pen Thought to the Pen Penny section, though I hope I remember the link since its been so long since I've updated it. Here's the deal, I had been writing stuff but not posting it, hoping to revamp the website, but my computer crashed and my monitor's messed up so I can't edit images or anything and the code also was lost. Lesson: always back up your stuff (I did but the disc is mean). Anyways, I hope to do some stuff in the coming month or two, we'll see though. First up, some Eva live action news

SciFi.com has published a short interview with Weta Workshop visual-effects supervisor Richard Taylor in which Taylor explains that not only is the Oscar Award winning Weta Workshop eager to work on a live action Evangelion movie, Weta would like to co-produce the film instead of merely provide special effects.

FUNimation has inadvertently revealed its acquisition of North American distribution rights to the Solty Rei and Tsubasa Chronicle anime series. The acquisitions came to light recently after FUNimation contacted a fan translation group requesting the group to cease publicly sharing episodes of programs distributed by FUNimation.

The San Francisco Chronicle newspaper has learned that Comcast has basically canceled the AZN Network before the network even launched. The AZN Network was planned as a 24-hour television channel featuring unique original programming created by Asian Americans for Asian American viewers. The San Francisco Chronicle has learned that tentative network parent company Comcast has laid off "almost" 43 AZN employees. Apparently Comcast's current broadcast of Asian oriented programming will continue, but Comcast will not be launching a specific television network of exclusively Asian programming.

According to Anime News Service, a live action feature film adaptation of Mitsuru Adachi's manga series Rough will begin filming next March for Japanese theatrical release in fall 2006.

At the recent L.A. Film Critics Association Awards 2005 ceremony, composer Joe Hisaishi was presented the award for "Best Score" for his music for Hayao Miyazaki's film Howl's Moving Castle

Director Satoshi Kon has announced on his homepage BBS that he will direct an anime theatrical film titled "Paprika," an adaptation of a sci-fi novel by Tsutsui Yasutaka, who also wrote the source novel for the upcoming "Little Girl Who Conquered Time" anime movie.

The official Japanese website for the classic adult anime series Cream Lemon has officially announced a new anime series presently known as "Cream Lemon New Generation." The official announcement confirms that the new animation, due out next year, will be a re-make of the Ami Nonomura story.

An anime TV series adaptation of Koei's popular love simulation video game franchise Angelique has been announced.
